“Joe did an above and beyond job of taking such great care of Ollie for us while we were on vacation. He asked about all of the big and little details of Ollie’s care, was very attentive to his needs and feeding schedule, and I loved that not only did Ollie get plenty of attention from Joe and his family, but he had playmates (Joe’s dogs) to play with and keep him company, and Joe sent regular picture updates! It absolutely puts us at ease that our pup got to have such loving individual attention from a family! I’ve never boarded him at a business-but I’m pretty confident that the level of personal care he got in a loving home far supersedes that of a business. I would hands down book with Joe again!”

“Julie took very good care of Lilo. She provided timely updates with pictures. Both of her dogs are very friendly. Lilo had a great time and looking forward to use Julie for future pet sittting needs.”

“Amazing!!! Roscoe and Rudi stayed over a week and had an amazing time! We received multiple pictures each day with updates! They had lots of outdoor time in the sun and were made special beds so they were comfortable. My fav is that they smell so good when coming home! Thanks for another fantastic stay! ❤️”

“Finley had a great time with Gerard -a big fenced in back yard to play, a couple new friends to play with and some time inside to relax and watch golf and the Pacers. It doesn’t get any better! Finley was very happy when I picked him up and was excited to see me! He had a great time. We will definitely use Gerard again !”

“Miss Mary is super awesome. We felt bad for leaving our baby girl behind but she made it all better. My girl loves her and so do we. We both feel so comfortable at her place. The best part is knowing my girl is in good hands and being love. Highly recommend miss Mary to anyone who needs a someone loves animals.”

“Katia was very helpful. Her home was clean and her dogs and kitten seemed to do well with Connor. Connor chewed his leash in two and Katia went and bought another and said we did not need to pay her back for the cost. Of course we did though. We would recommend Katia.”

“Tammy was a great caretaker for our Babu! She is very attentive and compassionate. She even washed her blankets for Babu when she needed it. I recommend her to anyone with small dogs. She will love them while you are away, as if they are her own.”

“This was our kitten’s first time staying away from home, and Shelby made it care-free and easy! She kept such a close eye on our kitten, even if the kitten didn’t necessarily want her too, haha! A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
