“Mike was absolutely wonderful. He was prompt, professional, kind and bonded with the kitties. He was very patient with all three of my kitties, from my older one to my very shy one. The photos he sent were great! Living in a rural community makes it difficult to welcome strangers into to your home. Mike's demeanor and presence instills an immediate level of trust and comfort that makes it easy to hand over the keys to my home, allowing me to attend other important matters. I would absolutely recommend him.”

“Amy was awesome! She took great care of my pets and gave me peace of mind while I was away. She was reliable, caring, and kept me updated, which I really appreciated. I came home to happy, well-cared-for pets. I would absolutely recommend Amy to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!”

“We love Nadia! She is incredibly caring and she communicated with us everyday about out babies. We felt extremely comfortable with her visiting our house and taking care of our group of trouble makers. We will definitely work with her again! Thank you nadia!”

“Katharine did an excellent job taking care of my cat via drop-in visits while I was on vacation. Katharine is kind and friendly, very responsible, and experienced with cats, as a cat owner herself. She does a perfect job following directions and communicating, and she was very easy to work with. I highly recommend booking Katharine as your Rover, and I hope to work with her again in the future.”

“Bri was wonderful! It was clear from her updates that my cat Laszlo loved her, and when I came home he was happy and well cared for. She went above and beyond and I would definitely book her again.”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was nervous. We have FIVE dogs. Yes FIVE. So it’s a big job for anyone. Lianna was spectacular. She was on time. She sent us pictures. My dogs looked happy and well cared for. I cannot recommend her enough. Anytime we are away we will definitely rebook. She is THE BEST!!!! Definitely FIVE STARS!!!”

“Jack is awesome! He is very knowledge and I feel my puppy is safe with him! He came at odd hours for me since I work overnights and I couldn’t be more grateful! He keeps you up to date with the app and photos which is very comforting!”

About: What sets me apart is my hands-on experience with dogs of all ages and personalities. I’ve volunteered at a dog shelter, cared for my own dog Missy for 9 years, and worked part-time at Camp Bow Wow (located in Bound Brook, NJ). This background helps me create a safe, structured, and positive environment where your dog can relax, have fun, and feel well cared for. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to fit pet care into my weekly routine. I’m able to schedule visits, walks, and drop-ins around my work hours, so your pet can get consistent attention and care. I plan my days with your pet’s needs in mind, making sure they stay on their usual feeding, play, and walk schedule while you’re away. I care for pets by following their usual routines for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest so they feel secure and comfortable. I pay close attention to their behavior and body language, give them plenty of affection and enrichment, and keep their space clean and safe. I also stick closely to any instructions you provide, from favorite toys and treats to specific schedules, to make sure your pet’s day feels as normal and stress-free as possible.

“Cathy was fantastic with our kitty! She took as many pictures as she was able (sometimes our cat is recluse) and she communicated very well. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Megan took great care of our two cats while we were away! She was super communicative throughout, and sent plenty of cute pictures and updates. Our shy cat warmed up to her right away.”

“I’ve booked with Lydia multiple times now, and every experience has been excellent. She is a great communicator, always sends photo updates, and treats my dog so well. My dog is always happy and comfortable when I return. Highly recommend!”

About: I’m a graduating law student looking to take pup-filled study breaks while I prepare for the bar exam. I have a big cat named Perry and I love dogs. I’ve had at least one dog my entire life, and most of my family members have as well, so I have a lot of experience with many different breeds. I hope you’ll trust me to take care of your beloved pets while you’re away. Even shy dogs and cats tend to warm up to me quickly, and I love getting them out of their shells. Please note that I am unable to do walks longer than 20-30 minutes. I am available for longer daytime stays but not overnight stays. I am currently a student, so my schedule, while a little sporadic, is fairly open, especially on the weekends. I also enjoy taking walks when I can, so adding dogs to those walks can only make them better! I do not accept clients for boarding. If and when I do drop in visits, I will make sure and follow the owner’s instructions, and primarily make sure the pet feels comforted and doesn’t feel alone.
About: I grew up with dogs and cats since I was young. I have 2 dogs of my own! We love walks, toys, treats, and trips to the park! I work during the week so looking for after work walks during the week. I am mostly available on weekends, that’s when my dog and I are looking for fur friends to join us on our outings! There’s plenty of room in my house for roaming and playing. All pets are allowed of furniture and I have a large yard that I can bring pets out to play in.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pattersonville. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
