About: My wife Sherry and I have had pets for the last 31 years of marriage. We know how important it is to find a responsible and trusting person to take care of your pets while you're away. Let us take care of your precious pets and we will treat them like our own. You can have them hosted in our house or we can make drop in visits at yours. We live in a secluded area with a large yard which your pets will enjoy. I'm an IT professional and my wife stays home so there is always someone looking after your pets. We'll take the stress away from you while you are away from your pets by treating them like our own. I work full time but my wife Sherry is home all day. We are a team a she will look after the pets during the day and we both will take care of them at night. We currently don't have any dogs since we recently lost our little old man Monty. We have one indoor/outdoor cat named Creature which is very friendly. We have a large back yard which is not fenced but we can take them out on a leash or tie them up on a lead an supervise them. Our property is secluded and is not close to a road so, there is no danger from traffic.
About: I began caring for dogs in their homes since I graduated high school at 16. I have owned my own business since then, providing in-home visits, dog walking, boarding, and also worked as a professional dog trainer with Ridgeside K9. I enjoy dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds and temperaments. I currently work a full time job, but I have a rotating schedule and only work 14 days/month. Send me a booking request and I will respond quickly with availability to care for your pet! I have a fenced in yard, and live in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of safe walking options. Dogs that board in my home must be crate trained.
About: As a dog owner myself I understand the level of trust required to leave your pet in a strangers care. I have been caring for dogs since I was a young teen and feel comfortable with a variety of different breads and temperaments. It can be hard knowing your dog is cooped up when you have a busy day. Let me help your pup get out and enjoy their day! I am currently available to help with your pup on Sundays starting as early as 6am. May be available on weekdays after 6pm depending on my schedule. I have a border collie whom my husband and I take to training, on regular walks, and socialize her downtown often. We reward her for good behavior and we're understanding of bad behavior, but quick to correct it. Dogs under my care are very well taken care of.
About: I am a current fourth year veterinary student, and I have several years of experience in clinics and boarding facilities working with dogs and cats. Caring for pets isn’t just a job for me, it’s what I’ve dedicated my life and education to. Because of my clinical training and professional experience, I’m comfortable caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I have experience administering medications, monitoring for changes in behavior, and providing attentive care to pets who may be anxious or require special handling. Whether your dog needs an energetic walk, or your cat needs a reliable sitter while you’re away, you can feel confident knowing they are in capable hands. I treat every pet as if they were my own and prioritize safety, comfort, and enrichment at every visit. I’m currently working at a local veterinary clinic part-time, so I will have plenty of time to care for your pets. I am free every day of the week for walks and drop-by sitting, and my timing is flexible each day depending on what your needs are! I will monitor your pets in your home and ensure that they stay within my sight and are not getting into anything they shouldn't be. When they are outside, I will either take them out on a leash if your yard is not fenced, or keep watch on them while they are in a fenced-in yard. On walks, I will use whatever accessories you suggest for your dog, whether that be a harness, collar, etc. I will bring water with me for any extended walks, and be sure to monitor them for any signs of fatigue especially in our hot weather. I am very flexible and can provide many different kinds of care tailored to your pet!
About: Hi! I’m home for the summer and excited to spend time doing something I love, caring for animals. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, and I recently lost my own, which reminded me just how much animals mean to me. While I don’t have time for a full-time pet right now, I still stay involved by volunteering every week at a local animal shelter and helping care for the cat I live with at school. I also worked as a vet assistant for a year, so I’m experienced with pets of all ages and temperaments. Whether it’s dogs, cats, or anything in between, I’ll treat your pet with the same love and care I gave my own. I’m currently taking an online summer course with a very flexible schedule, so I’m available throughout the summer for pet sitting, dog walking, and drop-in visits. Since I’m not working right now, I have plenty of time to give your pet the attention and care they deserve. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or overnight stays, I’m happy to help however I can! In your home, I follow your pet’s routine closely, feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions, so they stay comfortable and happy while you’re away. I make sure they get plenty of attention and care!

“After we had an awful first experience with rover with another Dog Walker, Deborah restored our faith in this service. What an incredible human, let alone dog walker. Consistent, great communication, and our dog adores her. I would go back to her 10 times out of 10!”

“Jessica is very sweet and took the time to let our dog warm up to her. She took great care of our pup and kept us updated on the walk from when she got there until the end. We would definitely use her again for the future!”

About: Hi there! 🐾 With over 10 years of equine handling experience and many years of dog and pet sitting, I’ve learned that great pet care goes beyond simply being present, it’s about being observant, consistent, and reliable. I take pride in providing calm, attentive, and compassionate care tailored to each animal’s unique needs, whether they’re energetic, shy, senior, or somewhere in between. I’m very mindful of routines, body language, and individual personalities, and I believe patience and consistency make all the difference in helping pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I value clear, open communication and always make it a priority to keep owners informed and at ease. From daily visits to extended stays, my goal is to provide a dependable, low-stress experience for both pets and their people. I treat every animal with the same care and respect I would my own, and I’d be honored to care for your pets and farm animals alike. Rates are not set in stone, I am happy to work with you to ensure your pet gets the care they deserve. I work part-time, which allows me to maintain a flexible schedule throughout the week and on weekends. This flexibility gives me the ability to provide consistent, attentive care, accommodate a variety of routines, and spend meaningful, unhurried time with your pets. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I’m very mindful of both the animals and the space they live in. I approach each visit with a safety-first mindset, taking care to secure doors, gates, and feeding areas, and to follow all instructions exactly as given. I’m attentive to subtle changes in behavior or environment and respond calmly and responsibly if anything seems out of the ordinary. I understand the trust involved in allowing someone into your home, and I treat that responsibility with respect and professionalism. My goal is to provide a steady, reliable presence so pets remain comfortable in their familiar surroundings and owners can feel confident knowing their home and animals are in careful hands.
“We feel very fortunate to have met Shannon, she's wonderful! Reliable, trust worthy, and full of great energy. She always takes her time with our doggo and makes each visit special. Also, we very much appreciate her professional background in both firefighting and emergency medical services as it speaks to her general character and mindset, and provides us peace-of-mind that if an emergency situation were to occur, our boy is in the best hands possible.”

About: My home offers a private, low-volume stay designed for dogs who thrive with calm energy, consistency, and one-on-one attention. I intentionally keep my bookings extremely limited, typically no more than 2 to 3 dogs at a time, so each dog receives focused care, supervision, and a truly personalized experience. This is a quiet, structured environment where dogs are part of my daily routine, not rotated through large group play or overstimulating settings. Every stay is designed to feel stable, safe, and relaxed. For dogs who enjoy social interaction, I carefully incorporate supervised play and enrichment opportunities when appropriate and with owner approval. Social time is always based on each dog’s temperament, energy level, comfort, and overall fit. I intentionally keep my care balanced and structured, ensuring dogs who benefit from interaction have positive experiences while maintaining the peaceful environment I’m known for. Dogs here benefit from: • Consistent supervision and presence • Calm, structured daily routines • One-on-one attention and interaction • Low-stress, balanced social dynamics • A peaceful environment without overstimulation Your dog is never left unattended for long periods and is never placed in chaotic or crowded situations. This is a more intentional, hands-on level of care for owners who want peace of mind knowing their dog is truly being looked after. The property includes open space, shaded areas, and quiet walking paths. Outdoor time is always supervised and tailored to each dog’s comfort level, energy level, and recall reliability. This setting is an excellent fit for: • Dogs who prefer a calm environment • Senior dogs or lower-energy breeds • Dogs who benefit from structure and routine • Anxious or sensitive dogs • Owners looking for a more private, personalized stay I do accept well-mannered and social dogs, as long as they align with the calm, balanced environment here. Each stay is thoughtfully matched to maintain a safe and positive experience for everyone. If your dog would benefit from a more active, high-energy environment, I can also help guide you toward the best fit to ensure they have the experience they need. Caring for animals is already the rhythm of my day. I’m home full time, so everything I do revolves around feeding schedules, outdoor playtime, training, cleaning, and making sure everyone’s comfortable. My mornings start with letting the dogs out to stretch and play while I prep meals and check water buckets. Throughout the day, I rotate them between play areas, nap spots, and one-on-one time inside. there’s room for everyone to get fresh air, sunshine, and plenty of space to explore safely. I treat visiting dogs exactly like my own with the same attention, structure, and love. Nights are calm with everyone settled in for dinner, cuddles, and quiet time before bed. Pet care isn’t something I squeeze in; it is my lifestyle. When pets stay with me, they get the best of both worlds! I have a safe indoor area where they can relax, play, and feel comfortable, plus a secure outdoor space where they can get fresh air, stretch their legs, and enjoy supervised playtime. I keep both areas clean and cozy, and I always make sure pets are monitored while outside. Whether it’s sunshine and fetch or chill time indoors, I tailor their routine to what makes them happiest and most comfortable.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Panier. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Panier.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
