“On this first time visit, Nico was very at ease heading outside to walk with Eliot. Sometimes he will look back at the door and not want to leave me. Not the case here which made both of us feel good.”

About: I've had dogs all my life, grew up with them and has seen all the stages. I currently have a 2 year old dog named Billy. I've experienced all types of energy and personalities. I've taken care of neighbors dogs and have frequently stopped by family and friends houses to let their dogs out, play with them, feed them, and just sit with them and rub their bellies. I currently have a full-time job but have a very flexible schedule which allows me to have Friday through Sunday off. I work the rest of the week 9am to 4pm but can go home if needed on my lunch break. I tell people to always ask regarding my week day schedule because it does change week to week depending what is going on. I don't not have a fenced in yard but I can walk your dog as needed and play with them and bring them anyway if needed to get some energy out. I have different types of mental challenging games for dogs and I have one very energetic happy puppy named Billy that gets along with all dogs and will be your dogs best friend.
“Richard was excellent, he responded to our communication quickly and sent us daily pictures. We felt that our cats were in good hands while we were away, and when we came home everything was as it should be. I would highly recommend Richard to watch over your pets!”

About: What sets me apart is that caring for dogs is more than just something I do on the side—it’s my everyday life. I’m a Co Packleader at High Rovers Dog Daycare, where I work with dogs of all different ages, sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I have years of experience in dog daycare and am trained in pet first aid, dog body language, and group management. I’m comfortable recognizing when a dog is having fun, becoming overwhelmed, needs a break, or needs a little redirection. I especially enjoy getting to know each dog as an individual and learning what makes them feel comfortable and happy. I also have experience with puppies, energetic dogs, shy or nervous dogs, dogs who need extra patience, and dogs who prefer a slower pace. Whether your dog wants to spend the day playing fetch, going for walks, practicing basic training, or simply relaxing beside me, I’m happy to meet them where they are. My goal is to give every pet the same level of patience, attention, and care that I would want for my own dogs. 🐾 Pet care is a big part of my everyday life! I work at High Rovers Dog Daycare, where I spend my workdays caring for dogs, supervising playgroups, and making sure each pup is safe, comfortable, and having a great day. Outside of daycare, I’m available for in-home pet sitting and care. I’m used to planning my schedule around the pets I’m caring for and making sure they receive the attention, potty breaks, meals, walks, playtime, and companionship they need. Because dogs are already such a big part of my daily routine, caring for pets doesn’t feel like a chore—it’s something I genuinely love doing. I’m happy to work with each pet’s individual routine and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for while their family is away. 🐾 Whether your pet is staying with me through daycare or I’m caring for them in your home, my goal is always to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. At High Rovers, I work with dogs in a supervised daycare environment where we focus on safe play, socialization, enrichment, and reading each dog’s individual body language. I’m trained in pet first aid, body language, and group management, and I have years of experience working with dogs with different personalities and play styles. For in-home pet sitting, I keep your pet’s normal routine as consistent as possible. I’m happy to follow their usual feeding, potty, walking, playtime, medication, and bedtime routines, while giving them plenty of attention and companionship. I know every pet is different, so I take the time to learn what makes your pet comfortable and what they’re used to at home. Whether I’m caring for your dog at High Rovers or in their own home, I want you to feel confident that they’re in caring, experienced hands while you’re away. 🐾
“Lindsey is absolutely amazing! She was able to help me on very short notice, and is always accommodating to my changing schedule. She spends extra time with my dog and puts in extra effort during her visits. I would highly recommend her to anyone!”

“Kristina was absolutely amazing with our cats, and even went out of her way to make an extra stop to look for our kitten who did a disappearing act the whole weekend. We felt so much better knowing that Kristina was looking out for him. We would 100% use her services again.”

“Katie was wonderful! Very patient with Jello and very kind. Jello is an anxious dog who takes a while to become comfortable with new people, and Katie was very understanding. By the end of their time together, Jello really warmed up!”

About: I have experience caring for an elderly dog who required daily medication and eye drops, so I understand the extra patience and attention that senior pets may need. I’m comfortable following medication schedules and ensuring pets receive the care they need. My dog is also very needy and loves constant attention, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs who want extra cuddles, companionship, and reassurance. I understand that every dog has different needs and personalities, and I’m happy to give them the time, patience, and attention they deserve. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine, especially on my days off. I currently work 10-hour shifts on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, so I am generally unavailable for extended daytime visits in those days. I have Thursdays and weekends off, which gives me plenty of flexibility for walks, drop-ins, and longer stays. I’m also happy to work around my schedule when possible and communicate clearly with pet owners about my availability. I understand how important consistency is for pets, and I would make sure they receive the attention, care, and companionship they deserve. I always try to keep pets as comfortable and happy as possible by sticking to their normal routine. In a client’s home, I’ll follow their instructions for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and anything else their pet needs. I’m also happy to give pets plenty of attention and companionship, especially if they like having someone.

“I was so happy to find Jillian, as a sitter myself I have high standards and Jillian stepped up to the task. She followed all instructions left and sent detailed updates each day. Definitely felt at ease while I was on my trip, I came home to happy pups and a clean doggie room!! Highly recommend Jillian!!!”

“Breanna is a life saver. We lost a sitter last minute and had to scramble, and she was there the next day for the meet & greet, prepared and taking notes and asking good questions. The Boys took to her immediately - she even got the shy one out on her 3rd visit. Good communication, great photos. Booking again right away!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
