“Brittany was great with my puppies! She treated them like her own and sent me pictures with updates throughout the weekend. She’s so patient and really makes you feel comfortable leaving your pets with her! Will definitely use her again in the future and recommend her to friends!”

“What a great experience. I love getting updates, and being reassured that my pup is having a good time and also getting what he needs. Valerie is conscientious, for example, she walked my dog before I came to make sure that he had his needs met before a long drive with me. Got an along well with her dog, in a family setting with a backyard — really appreciate her care.”

“We were worried that our Laima would have a hard time with separation anxiety, (first time away from us in the 2 yrs since we rescued her) but Rene and her pups made her feel right at home. The pictures she posted spoke volume on how well Laima enjoyed her stay! We hope to use Rene again soon!”

“Robert was great! Sent lots of pictures and updates. My dog looked happy and was very tired when she got back home so I know she had a good time playing and getting energy out!”

“Elizaveta did a fantastic job watching our Boston Terrier for almost 3 weeks. Our little guy is often afraid of new people and being away from our family, but with her he was super comfortable right away - I think her dog helped with the process. Definitely recommend and would use again.”

“Another amazing experience for Watson with Melissa! She provides so many updates and photos/videos of him. Watson is clearly so comfortable and taken care of while staying with Melissa and her family. He goes on so many walks and is truly with a family who loves animals. So grateful for the help!”

“Jessica was so amazing!! I felt so confident with my sweet girl Daisy being in her and her daughter’s hands. She got so much love and care. Jessica was so in tune with her needs and incredible at communicating with me. I could tell Daisy was so happy and comfortable. Highly recommend Jessica!”

“Jocelyn was great with communication and accommodating specific requests. You can tell she genuinely loves dogs. I highly recommend her and will absolutely be using her services again.”

“They watched Coco a few times. Coco had a couple seizures. They offered to take Coco to the vet late at night and provided constant reassurance. They followed the care routines and shared updates. Coco returned home happy. We plan future bookings.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! From the moment we first spoke, it was clear that Joy genuinely loves animals and takes her responsibility seriously. She treated Bowie like a member of her own family, making sure he was not only well cared for but also happy, comfortable, and loved while we were away. Communication was outstanding throughout our trip. We received regular updates, photos, and videos that gave us complete peace of mind. It was obvious that Bowie was getting plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. When we returned, Bowie was relaxed, healthy, and clearly had an amazing time. It’s such a relief to know we have someone we can trust completely with him. Joy’s professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail exceeded every expectation. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and exceptional dog sitter. “Nahomie did an incredible job taking care of Lucy while we were away for a week! Nahomie is so warm and caring, a great communicator and her house is impeccably clean and in a quiet area close to a nearby park. She made sure that Lucy had her daily walks, meals, medicines and supplements right on schedule. We could tell that Lucy was so well taken care of and happy—we couldn’t have done a better job ourselves! Regular pictures and detailed check-ins about their daily adventures also helped us feel reassured that Lucy was having the best time possible. Would definitely recommend and bring Lucy back to Nahomie for sitting again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ossining
We left our dog Pig with Kristine for 4 nights and she was absolutely wonderful. Really communicative before and during and she sent many photos and updates. We could tell the pup was happy and content. She even offered to do the drop off of our dog afterwards which was really helpful and truly above and beyond. What's more, after she left, you could tell Pig really missed her new friend! Kristine's great! would recommend.

Nahomi was an amazing host to our Giant Schnauzer. In short, our big dog is needy and comes with instructions. Nahomi was more than accommodating and flexible to meet his needs and our changing schedule. And most importantly, our dog was getting great care and constant love while we were away. We are so appreciative when we have great Rover experiences like this one.

Jessica and her entire family took such good care of my dog Luna! One can clearly see that they love animals❤️. Jessica was also great to send us news everyday and to accommodate when we were a little late to pick up our dog! I really appreciate Jessica as a pet sitter and will definitely leave Luna with her again!

There are dog-sitters and then there’s Jane. Her love for all animals shines through and we’ve never felt more at ease leaving Kaya with a sitter than we have with Jane. I’d recommend her to literally anyone who wants regular updates, a loving home, and a caring spirit. Thank you, Jane!

Maddie was fantastic with our golden retriever and we will definitely book with her again. Her daily pupdates were appreciated and out us at ease while we were away. She took great care of our doggo. He came back happy and healthy, there was no stress while we were away. Thanks Maddie!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
