“Lisa is wonderful! She sent us pictures of our pup every couple of days and gave us updates. She is so accommodating and caring. I will definitely ask her to dog sit again in the near future.”

“This was our second time boarding Billie with Sonia and her family, and we are so glad to have found someone local who takes such good care of Billie! Thank you to Sonia, Brian, and Vivian!”

“Robert was great! Always stayed in communication, he sends pictures and videos of my pups while I am away. Plus, the dogs have so much fun in his big, fenced in yard and they get to go on hikes at a local park! I would definitely recommend Robert!”

“Laudianny was the perfect sitter for my most precious possession Ted! She provided daily updates and it seemed like he got comfortable quickly. Within a day he was making biscuits with her so i know he was well cared for!”

“Amazing host! They offered a meet and greet before boarding. During boarding, they shared many photos and updates such as what they’ve played and their appetite. I felt very comfortable having them watch over my dog.”

“Henry and Kyungwon did an excellent job watching Coco. They made sure her medicine was given on time and sent regular updates. Coco was calm and content when we returned. We plan to use Henry and Kyungwon again.”

“Rhonda & her husband were gracious hosts to our dog for a couple of days. She was very communicative, checking in; getting clarification when necessary & sending great photos. My favorite was the one where she took her on a walk near the water - photo shows our dog with Rhonda, sitting on a bench with her head up - tongue out and laughing. Highly recommend!”

“Blanca is an absolute pleasure to interact with, she clearly loves the pups and seeing them happy makes her happy. Blanca watched our 2.5 year old Maltipoo for 7 days and kept us apprised of his stay with many adorable pictures and sweet texts. Banksy looked like he was having the BEST time with Blanca, and he can be very shy and suffers from separation anxiety when apart from Mom & Dad. We highly recommend Blanca for anyone who cares deeply for the well-being and happiness of their pup while traveling. She is the best dog sitter we’ve ever dealt with - hands down.”

About: I’ve always enjoyed taking care of dogs since I was a child. I had a childhood dog, Rags who I doted on. In 2004, my dreams came true with having a dog of my own, Missy. Missy was a wonderful addition to my family for her lifetime of 17 years. I have a lot of love to give to your dog. I”m a teacher who’s off for the summer and when school resumes in the fall, I’m home by 2:45 pm. This schedule will allow me to go above and beyond when taking care of your dog. Your dog will be able to run freely in our home. I work close by so I will come home to walk your dog during the work day and then I’m home from work by 2:45. Once I’m home, I will play and pet your dog continuously as I did for 17 years with my beloved Missy.
“Due to some last minute changes, we had to find boarding for our 7 year old pup for 8 nights (!). It was our pups' second time boarding ever (1st time was at an animal hospital and it went terribly). We decided to give boarding a 2nd chance, and our dog was in good hands. Andrew safely and thoughtfully integrated our 20 lb. pup into the existing playgroups, to the point where the little guy made big dog friends! Andrew was clear and concise in his communication and availability. He was also clear and concise in his expectations for our dog and the dogs he cares for, raising the bar for their behaviors. All the videos he sent us had plenty of wagging tails. Our pup came home happy, spunky, and more obedient.”

“Adela was a great dog sitter for Alfie while I was away on vacation, I never worried about him because I knew he was in good hands! She was also very flexible when my flight got canceled and I came home later than expected!”

“Alexis was amazing and she was so thoughtful to send us videos during our time away from our pup, Rosie! The fact that she would be the one reaching out to us during our vacation definitely assured me that Alexis was taking great care of our Rosie. I would 110% use her again for our future needs!”

“Diana is a lovely person and did great with our 2 dogs. This was our first time bringing them to a sitter and she made us feel at ease. She is very communicative and flexible, and sent us daily updates. I highly recommend her and we will definitely be booking again on our next trip!”

“Amarys was amazing with my dog, Diamond! She took such great care of her, played with her, took her on lots of walks, and kept me updated throughout the stay with plenty of photos. It was so reassuring to see how happy and comfortable Diamond was. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches, and Diamond absolutely loved her. I felt completely at ease knowing she was in such good hands. We’ll definitely be booking with Amarys again, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!”

“Another great stay with Rafaelina! Always happy tails and wags for the time together. And we greatly appreciated Rafaelina's flexibility to accommodate a longer stay, when our plans changed. Highly recommend and would stay again and again. Thanks!”

“Christina put an immense amount of attention into my dog Maia. She gave me an update with pics every night and gave me a sense of assurance that my dog was in great hands and being given a wonderful amount of attention. I will definitely ask Christina and her husband Nick to watch my dog in the future whenever I need to. 20/10 service!”

“Monica always give tons of love to my dog that she still miss the time with her. I have been knowing her over 2 years whenever I need to travel out for business.”

Joanna is amazing! She took such great care of my dog, and I felt completely at ease knowing my pup was with her. She has a large, securely fenced backyard where the dogs have plenty of room to run, play, and burn off energy. It's clear that she genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. I appreciated the updates and the care she provided throughout the stay. I would absolutely recommend Joanna to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. We'll definitely be booking with her again!

Bianca took wonderful care of my dog and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. She communicated with me throughout the day, sharing updates and letting me know how everything was going, which I really appreciated. I would absolutely recommend Bianca to anyone looking for someone reliable, caring, and attentive to their pet.

Tyler is an amazing sitter. My pup Jesse, loved him and the meet and greet and practically pulled my arm off to get into his house on the day of booking. She had a great time with the other pups. Tyler sent pictures and Jesse was a very happy pup when she came home. 10 out of 10 will be booking again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
