“James was amazing! He took amazing care of our tiny dachshund and senior hound who have such different needs (as well as our house) while we were gone for 9 days. He sent wonderful updates and pics each day. Will absolutely book again!”

“Sloan was the BEST sitter for our dog, Nyla. We were sent lots of pictures and updates. She also took the time to give her multiple walks and play with her outside. Our pup was so well taken care of and happy throughout Sloan’s stay. We definitely will be asking her to watch our dog again!”

“This was our first foray into arranging a dog-sitter through Rover, and it was a great experience. From our first meeting with LaTrice we felt she was truly fond of dogs and Shima, our neurotic Shitzhu Maltese mix, took to her as well. LaTrice sent us photos every day of our trip of Shima sleeping and walking etc, really reassuring, and allowed us to focus on having fun without worrying. We have another trip planned, and we are definitely going to book LaTrice for it if she's available and up for it. Thank you LaTrice!”

“Liz is FANTASTIC! She made my pup so happy while I was away for a week that he is probably sad that I came home! She is reliable, communicative, friendly, and LOVES animals. I hope to have Liz doggy-sit for me again :)”

“Amanda was a wonderful sitter for our doodle Henry. He loved having her and she really took great care of him. He had walks and playtime and she sent frequent pictures showing us how much fun Henry was having. I was completely at ease knowing she was at our house with him. She also left the house impeccable. We highly recommend her!!!”

“Highly recommend Johanna for your pet sitting needs. She watched my pup in my home for a couple of days and provided excellent care! Communication was prompt and Johanna provided lots of pictures. I will definitely reach out to her again in the future and would recommend her to anyone looking for pet care!”

“Tessa was awesome! Our pets had a great time, she was consistent with communication and left us completely unburdened regarding our furry family while on vacation! Would 1000% recommend Tessa to anyone in need of a hand with your pets!”

About: I am new to Virginia and work a full time job in the arts. Before I moved I had to say good bye to my sweet old dog, Miko who I miss everyday and took care of into her 15th year. I am not quite ready to get another dog but have lots of love to give up to yours! I’m always the friend who gets asked to take animals on a walk or care for them when they are away. I watched a handful of professors pets on the regular during grad school. I am happy to discuss other availabilities for I am a filmmaker and artist new to Virginia. I work M-F 11 to 5 ish. I am hoping to find some regular doggo to look after just trying this out. I have a big yard and plenty of cozy spots throughout the house. I know how. much routine plays into an animals life so I am happy to try to accommodate them the best I can to reduce the amount of stress while their humans are away.

“Christian was great to work with. I was using an in-home sitter for the first time for a two week trip. They spent extra time getting my nervous dog comfortable after a rocky first night! Lots of updates each day, brought in mail, took out trash, in addition to walking, feeding and hanging out with my dog. Would definitely recommend them for future needs!”

“Mary took great care of Geneva during our family vacation and was very responsive through the week. Home was left super clean as well thank you!!!”

About: I started pet/house sitting when I was a senior in High School (2018) and have been watching my friends and families pets since! I have experience with a range of dog sizes and breeds (tiny Chihuahuas to massive German Shepards). I have experience giving medication to older pups and have taken care of energetic younger dogs too. My job allows me to work from home most days. When I’m out in the field for work, I usually am only gone about 4-6 hours. I prefer coming to the owners house as I have found most pets are more comfortable in their own home. I keep the house clean and am flexible with arrival and departure times.

“Julia was great. Our senior dog has special food requirements and all was handled well. And she didn't mind getting up early with our other dog who likes breakfast as early as possible. Also loved the updates and photos. We will definitely use her again.”
