“We used Renee as our dog walker this school year. She was amazing and our dog loved her visits. She was always on time, never cancelled, and gave us such peace of mind. We received cute photos of our pup from her visit each day ensuring us that she was happy and taken care of.”

“Rachel did an amazing job checking on our cat! Our cat is normally pretty shy around new people but seemed to warm up to Rachel pretty quickly. Rachel also kept us updated and sent pics everyday. Overall, she was great and we will definitely have her take care of our cat again!”
“My 8 year old Matilda kitty just loves Lauren. She is knowledgeable about administering medication. And in the pictures that Lauren sends daily, shows my kitty snuggled up to her.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Jessica R. over the Thanksgiving weekend! Jessica took excellent care of our three dogs, two cats, and even our daughters’ energetic Goldendoodle. Managing that many pets is no small task, but Jessica handled everything with such calm, capable care. She communicated well with us and with our fur babies. We got regular updates, pet photos, and messages from Jessica that put us completely at ease while we were away. All of the animals were relaxed, happy, and clearly well-loved when we returned home. The house was tidy, food and water stations were clean, and it was obvious that our pets received plenty of attention and affection. We’re so grateful to have found someone we can trust with our furry family, and we will absolutely be booking with Jessica R. again. Highly recommend!”

“Madison is superb. She’s incredibly responsive and responsible. We were nervous about leaving our pups behind and concerned we might have trouble finding someone brave AND loving enough to care for the bully breed. Madison didn’t flinch and our dogs took to her immediately. She is professional, kind, punctual, caring, and will even send photos, which is incredibly thoughtful and reassuring. We won’t hesitate to rely on Madison in the future and highly recommend her services to others.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and genuinely love spending time with them. During college, I frequently cared for dogs while their owners were away, providing walks, playtime, feeding, and plenty of attention to make sure they felt comfortable and happy. With a flexible summer schedule, I’m available most days and times, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Whether you need a last-minute walk or planned pet care, I’d be happy to help. I treat every pet as if they were my own, following your care instructions closely and making sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. You can count on me to be dependable, communicative, and committed to providing the best care possible.
“This was our first time using Rover but also having someone other then a family member watch our 2 dachshunds. They can be picky on who they let into there circle and they had no issue warming up to Kelly right away! We were very nervous but Kelly was so calm and made us at ease while we were out of town. I can’t not say enough good things about her! I wish I could explain how much a relief we got knowing our babies were comfortable with Kelly and were taking such good care of! (Our dachshunds are our everything!) We will 1000000% be using Kelly in the future! She was amazing!!!!!”

About: I’ve been caring for pets since I was 15 years old. Whether it’s energetic puppies, senior dogs, playful cats, or pets who just need a little extra attention, I treat every animal like they’re my own. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide walks, drop-in visits, and quality time with your pets throughout the day. I do my best to accommodate your pet’s normal routine so they stay happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I care for every pet as if they were my own. I carefully follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any special care your pet needs. I’ll treat your home with respect, clean up after myself, lock doors securely, and send regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing.
“Courtney was amazing! This was the first time we have had to leave our dogs with someone other than family, so we were a little nervous since our dogs can be a handful with their anxieties. The first time our dogs met her, they were already comfortable with her. Throughout our vacation she was always in touch with us and sent us pictures. Even though we are back now, the dogs still look excitedly in the morning to see if she is coming, so we will definitely be using Courtney again in the future!”

About: Hi! My name is Meredith and have grown up caring for dog breeds such as German shepherds, labs, corgis, and schnauzers. I am comfortable around any breed! I also have experience caring for indoor & outdoor cats and can follow whatever protocol you need to keep them happy and healthy! I’m currently home for the summer from college and taking an online class while working remotely. I coach volleyball on Monday and Wednesday evenings but I’d still be available for visits before and after! I’m really available at all times as long as we can communicate expectations! I do not offer pet care in my home to protect my pet rabbits who are free-roam. However, in your home, I will follow all protocol you ask me to complete while providing many pets and cuddles and whatever playtime they love! It is important to keep your pet’s brain stimulated, especially when they are anxious because their owner is away!

Very happy with Jessica. She listened to all of our requests and took great care of our 2 little kitties. Showed flexibility when we had to modify our booking. Cats were happy, fed and acting relaxed when we got got from our trip. She always took her time to fill out kitty report card and snapped some great pics! Would recommend 10/10

Bristol was fantastic for drop in visits for both cats and dogs! She was a great help in finding a last minute pet sitter. She is very quick and responsive to messages and included detailed updates about our fur babies, and truly seemed to care about them. Would definitely recommend Bristol for all other pet needs, and will definitely be reaching out again if we need help in the future!!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Opal. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
