“What an amazing experience. Gabby calmed all of our anxieties about going out of town. She provided top notch service and treated our pets as if they were her own. The photos made the experience even better and I will rebook with her on our next trip.”

“Emily is absolutely wonderful. Super caring and great with pets. She’s great at sending pictures of my pups when she does visits, and always picks up the phone. I wouldn’t want to have anyone else watching my pups!!”

“Keira was absolutely amazing with our 14 week old Aussiedoodle puppy, Lily. She is very experienced and offered ideas on how to adjust to a rambunctious new addition in our home. Keira was an excellent communicator throughout these past two weeks, never hesitating to reach out if she had any questions or suggestions. We look forward to continuing to use Keira as Lily has grown so fond of her.”

“Very happy with Linda. She was always there at the requested time. Sent updates daily. We recommend her highly and will definitely use her again. Thank you Linda for making it so had no worries. Also, Daisy was happy having Linda take care of her!!”

About: I have been an Emergency and Internal Medicine vet tech part-time for 18 years. I also foster and volunteer for cat and dog rescues. I love taking care of animals and will love yours like my own. Whether your pet is young, healthy, have medical conditions and needs special care, or is a senior, I am comfortable providing all types of care. Originally from New England, I moved to Florida since you don't have to shovel sunshine. After working in the corporate world with an extensive travel schedule, I know what it's like finding quality care and to worry about your pets when you are gone. You will receive regular updates and photos while you are away. I would be happy to meet with you to discuss your needs during a free consultation. I have 5 dogs of my own so pet care is an integral part of my day. I have a flexible schedule so I am able to meet customer needs. All pets that stay with me are treated like my own dogs. They can stay in my home or I can visit yours and follow your instructions.
About: I grew up on a 60 acre ranch in Oregon. Horses, cattle, dogs, cats, birds, pigs, ducks, geese, chickens, goats, and fish as pets. I've had a dog, cat and bird that grew up together and ate, slept and played together. Raised ducks and gesse that followed me wherever I went. Raised birds to talk and whistle songs. Had fish trained to eat from my hand and let me pet them. I've had as many as 6 dogs at one time of different and/or mixed breeds. I've had as many as 10 cats at one time, always with one that I was 'his person'. I will play with your pets, sit with and comfort them, whatever they need that day. I know what its like to leave my dog in someone else's care and I assure you may rest easy knowing they are in good hands. My dog is part of our family. We do everything together whenever possible. We have a 1/4 acre fully fenced just for our 2 yr old and our dogs to run and play safely. It is difficult to leave him home when we want to go somewhere, so I know how it feels to be worried about leaving him in someone else's care. I like playing with dogs, cats and birds. Whatever their needs to make them feel comfortable while you are gone, I'm sure I can accommodate. They miss us when we are gone far more than we probably realize. I will do my best to ease their anxiety and leave them feeling at ease.
“Victoria has been a great sitter to our pup on two last minute occasions now. We loved receiving pictures and updates during the visits. Our pup seemed happy and comfortable around her. Definitely would recommend! Thanks 😊”

About: I’ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember, and I truly enjoy working with pets of all kinds. My experience goes far beyond dogs and cats. I have cared for lizards, fed tortoises, maintained freshwater aquariums, and cared for fish. I especially enjoy creating healthy, natural aquarium environments. Give me instructions, and they’ll be followed. I also have experience caring for chickens. With dogs and cats, I’ve raised entire litters of both puppies and kittens, and I’m currently raising a kitten of my own. I have four dogs at home (three Pomeranians and one Chihuahua) and grew up with Labrador Retrievers, so I’m comfortable with both small and large breeds. I also grew up with many cats and am very comfortable caring for them. In addition to caring for my own animals, I have three years of dog walking experience. Whether your pet has fur, feathers, fins, or scales, I understand that every animal has unique needs and deserves patient, attentive care. My goal is always to make your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away! 💚 I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to care for your pets. I’m available most evenings and all weekend, making it easy to accommodate walks and pet sitting. I’ll always communicate clearly about my availability and make sure your pet receives the time, attention, and care they deserve. I treat every home with the same respect and care I would expect for my own. I carefully follow each pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and any special instructions you provide. I know that keeping a familiar routine helps pets feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. I’ll also make sure your pet receives plenty of attention, affection, and enrichment based on their personality and needs. 💚

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Olga. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
