About: My name is Marissa and I'm am excited to return to Rover! My love for animals has been around since I was a child but blossomed during my time volunteering for an animal shelter. In addition to my volunteer work, I had an English Springer Spaniel for 11 years and a cat for 8 years, so I have quite a bit of experience caring for dogs and cats. I have administered oral medication, washed and walked dogs, helped train dogs, and brushed their teeth. I'm very patient with all cats and dogs and give them my full attention. I'm available most weekends and some weekdays, especially with advanced notice. Any specific requests? Let me know and I'll be happy to accommodate! I am currently working M-F from 8:00-5:00, but can accommodate weekday drop-in visits with additional notice. My main availability is on weekends and holidays. I take great care to ensure my clients’ homes are respected. I always offer to water any plants or do any small chores in addition to pet sitting.

I was a dog owner for over 10 years, and after losing my sweet girl to cancer, I really missed having furry friends around. I always make sure pets are supervised, cared for, and treated like part of the family while they’re in my home.

Having two fur babies of my own I know the importance of having someone you trust take care of them. I would treat your pets as if they were my own. Pets are family and should be treated with love, compassion, and respect. I have taken care of animals of all ages. I can give medication if needed. I would love to spend time with your pets when you are not able to. I currently work part time from home and have a flexible schedule. I would have plenty of time to spoil your fur babies with walks and belly rubs. I can do doggy daycare and boarding almost any day and time as long as your dog is tolerant to other dogs and is up to date on vaccinations. Playtime, walks, snuggles, and whatever else your pups or cats needs are, I am more than happy to supply them with the love and attention they need while you are away.

When caring for animals, I want to make sure they feel secured and well loved by double checking harnesses and collars before every walk and stay fully aware of our surroundings, adjusting my handling depending on your dog's size and energy. I also make sure all doors, gates, and windows are locked during visits so pets stay safe indoors, along with regular updates and photos during visits and/or walks!

I’m comfortable with young puppies to seniors, nervous/shy cats, those who need medication and anyone in between ☺️ I’m located right in the heart of the Mission District and work in Noe Vallley, so anywhere in those two areas are easy for me to access. I also have a car and can access further if need be! As someone who has seen plenty of emergency cases in my profession, I’m very specially aware within people’s homes of what may be considered safe or unsafe for your baby. With the school year starting I am unavailable Tuesdays and Thursdays.
