About: I have 4 years of professional animal care experience, and have grown up around dogs and cats. I’ve provided care for dogs, cats and reptiles. I’m comfortable working with animals with special needs. I currently work full-time on week days from 8-4. If you live within 10 minutes of West Asheville I am able to provide bathroom breaks every 4 hours. If you live further out, I can provide breaks every 8 hours. I have a decent amount of flexibility in my schedule and I have no pets of my own, so all of my attention can be on your fur babies!! I can’t currently offer boarding in my home as my roommate has a dog, but I am happy to come to your house. If needed, I can provide plant care during my stay, and will ensure you come home to a clean house and happy animals.
“Rachel was a great pet sitter for our kitty, Bandit!! Rachel was very responsive and communicative which made her meeting Bandit, going over Bandit's care, and getting keys, etc., all easy and seamless! It is clear she loves and understands pets very well. We were away for over 2 weeks and Rachel came for daily visits during that time - she sent photos and updates each day and it was clear that Bandit was very happy and well cared for. Upon our return everything was is good order and Bandit greeted us with a kitty "smile"! We highly recommend Rachel, and hope to have her care for Bandit when we next need kitty care!”

About: I’ve lived with dogs my whole life and cared for them for the last 4 years. I am 19 years old and extremely active, I love runs and long walks and playing with all types of pets. I’m responsible and will take very good care of your pets. Im currently working part time and have plenty of time to check in and stay over to care for pets. I work some nights and am usually back home before 8. I live and work by two simple rules, treat your house as if it were my own and to leave everything better than I found it.

“I can’t recommend Alex enough!! He was communicative, kind, took so many great photos of our cats during every drop in visit and we appreciated the flexibility when our travel plans were delayed. He went above and beyond and anyone would be lucky to have him watching their fur babies 💖”

“Alexis is a good communicator and spent time brushing and loving on our kitties in addition to tidying things we left less than perfect in our rush out during this tough post-hurricane time. Much appreciated & will definitely book her again if she’ll have us! Came home to calm, happy, cats and no surprises on the carpet! Thank you!”

“Bradly did a great job watching our two dogs while we were out of town for a few days. We had him drop in 3 times a day. He arrived promptly at the designated times, fed, walked and played with our pups. He is very kind and responsive giving us comfort that they were getting the attention they need. Our English Springer Spaniel is full of energy and Brad was able to give him the play time fetching sticks to burn off some of his energy. We live on a few acres so having someone that is also active was important to us. We trusted Bradly with our home and pets and would definitely use him again.”

“Ashlee took great care of my dog and was communicative. She made me feel at ease using a pet sitter for the first time. I highly recommend her and will definitely book her again!”

Able to care for any age or size and have experience with oral and subcutaneous meds for cats and oral meds for dogs. I’m currently working from home, so I’m available throughout the day and also anytime after 5pm - weekdays and weekends. So, available for drop-ins, pet sitting in my house or yours (as long as you have WiFi), walks, etc. I have one very elderly cat in my home. So if your pet doesn’t do well with cats, I can come to your home. No fenced in yard currently, but I go on frequent walks!
“Anne was amazing with our nervous 1 year old GSP puppy. She was patient and got him to relax and took him on a great walk! Thank you so much Anne!! ☺️ We will definitely have her look after him again in the future🩷”

“Andrea did drop in visits for my 2 cats while I was away. She always sent lots of photos & gave a description about what she did when she was there each time. My cats seem to love her. I would definitely recommend Andrea to anyone looking for a sitter! :)”

About: I have experience caring for all types of animals whether it’s dogs, cats or even rabbits. I have been pet sitting for close to 4 years and have been regularly dog walking for 2 years. My schedule changes on a weekly basis but I am very flexible. Most weekdays I am available, weekends I am more busy but we will work out a schedule that works for both of us! I want to keep your pet(s) happy and safe. In regards to petsitting I try and follow the routine that your pet is used to, and I love adding in fun activities and enrichment so they can thrive even when you are on vacation. I will also keep you posted with pictures and updates. For walks I change my approach for each pup, some dogs love to sniff, some like to run, and others love to learn new tricks. So whatever your doggy likes I try to provide a sensory rich activity as well as an opportunity for them to get some sunshine.

About: I have two cats and a dog who mean the world to me, so I truly understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. Caring for animals has always come naturally to me, and I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and routine. I would treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I’m currently in nursing school full time, which has strengthened my responsibility, patience, and compassion when caring for others. While my weekdays are busy with classes and studying, I’m available for evening and weekend pet care and would love to spend that time giving your pets the attention, comfort, and love they deserve. In my home or my client’s home, I care for pets by following their usual routine as closely as possible so they feel safe and comfortable. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, and get plenty of attention, playtime, and affection based on their personality and energy level. I’m mindful of any specific instructions from the owner, including medications, special diets, or behavioral needs. I also keep their space clean, make sure they have a calm and stress-free environment, and give lots of reassurance so they feel at ease while their owner is away.
About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and started helping care for them as a kid, everything from feeding and walks to training and cuddles. Since I turned 20, I’ve been professionally dog sitting and have cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’m a lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. Growing up with dogs taught me early on how to connect with them, understand their needs, and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I’m currently available most days of the week and am flexible with scheduling, so I can easily adapt to you and your pup’s routine. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just providing company and comfort, I genuinely enjoy every moment spent with dogs and treat them like part of the family. I’ve been around dogs my whole life and started professionally pet sitting in my early 20s, so I know how important it is for your pup to feel comfortable and safe in their own home. Whether I’m caring for a high-energy puppy or a slow-moving senior, I bring patience, love, and plenty of attention to make sure they’re happy while you’re away. I always do my best to stick to your dog’s routine and keep things clean and respectful in your home—like a familiar, trusted friend stepping in when you need an extra hand.
About: I have had many different animals my entire life including cats, ferrets, chinchillas, chickens, ducks, hamsters, rabbits… In my 20’s I founded “Not Just Pets, Professional Pet Care”. In my 30’s I founded “Equine Specialist, Care and Training”. I had horses for over 30 years. I trained, showed, pleasure road, belonged to 3 horse clubs and eventually started my own 4-H club. I have bred and trained Boston Terriers and German Shepherds. Currently, I have 4 dogs that I rescued from a SC kill shelter. I have worked with Aly from Coal Mountain and Karen from Arcadia Animal Rescue’s. Both have been amazed by how well adjusted the four dogs have become considering how terrified they were in which no one else would take a chance on. Animals are my passion and greatest friends! I am currently taking an online course to become a Certified Canine Massage Therapist. I work for myself taking care of Seniors and animals. Relocated 04.07.2025 from Maine. I make my own schedule and am flexible to care for your furry family! Every situation can be different. Meeting with the client and their animals is important. I like to know about any vices, medications, vet info, where supplies are at, etc. Taking notes and leaving daily notes for each client keeps communication open and I find is appreciated.
About: I've taken care of just about every animal since I was born. Especially cats and dogs but I've also taken care of reptiles, fish, chickens, rats, gerbils, hamsters, and even bugs. I've handled difficult dog breeds including pitbulls and preydriven rottweilers in a cat home. I am also not shy to pee or poop or any sick pets as I've been in and out of the vets offices as well. Im looking to possibly make this full time. So I am available just about whenever you need me to be there. This includes weekends as well. I am very pet friendly and enjoy being interactive no matter the species. Whether it's letting the crickets run so the bearded dragon can get some exercise or walking the puppy around the yard.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Old Fort. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
