“Lauren was fantastic! She sent me detailed notes on her visit with Carter and some cute pictures to ease my mind. I can go about my day now knowing he was fully taken care of and safe. What a heaven send she is!! Will definitely use her again and again!”

“Nicholas was very communicative and caring with our elderly pup. Copper truly enjoyed having him around and being able to stay home on our trip. Highly recommend!”

“This was the second time Deb has watched our cat while we’ve been out of town, and she was just as fabulous as always. Our cat snuggles right up to her and I love having the peace of mind that our cat is well taken care of and loved while we’re gone. Thank you, Deb!”

“As always, Chelsea did an amazing job pet sitting our 3 needy kitties! She proficiently carries out their (annoyingly specific) feeding/medication instructions and cares for them as if they were her own! We are happy to be repeat customers with her :)”

About: I've always had a natural connection with dogs since childhood. Dogs have always gravitated to my calm energy and ability to sense their needs. Your dog will not just be taken care of but will feel safe like they're spending time with an old friend. Retired computer nerd and musician available for dog walking and house visits most days of the week. Some dogs are welcome in our home with fenced in yard and 5 y.o. yellow lab Norma for playtime and companionship. My wife and I live in a wooded area in York with a large fenced in back yard. We are both retired and home most of the day to keep an eye on the pups. I am available for long or short visits to your home for dog walks and exercise to suite your needs. I am an avid walker and walk daily. I am fully insured with pet sitting/walking insurance.
About: Life-long pet lover with several years of dog walking experience. Also volunteered at the animal shelter, attended a dog training course, and took the vocational Health Occupations course in High School which included job shadowing at a vet's office. Scheduling should be pretty flexible. We are located in Wells & work part time locally. Please inform us what your needs are and we will try to accommodate! We live in an apartment so we will care for your dogs inside as well as giving them walks & allowing them in the yard on long leashes. Our two dogs will be overjoyed to have playmates, but if yours are shy or nervous we can keep them separated. Trips to the beach, dog park, or walking trails are also doable!
About: Hi, I’m Allison! 🐾 I’m a lifelong animal lover and a proud empty nester who now has plenty of time (and love!) to give to furry friends. I know how much pets mean to their families, and I care for every dog and cat as if they were my own. Whether your pup needs a fun walk, a game of fetch, or just a gentle, calming presence while you’re away, I’m here to make them feel happy and safe. With years of experience caring for animals and a naturally nurturing spirit, I focus on giving pets the attention, comfort, and routine they need to thrive. I believe trust and communication are key, so you can feel confident that your four-legged family member is in caring, reliable hands. I’m excited to meet your pet and give them the love and care they deserve! Looking forward to connecting ☺️ Since my summer job has come to an end, I’m looking to fill my time in the Wells, Maine area, as I have no current obligations. When caring for pets in their home, I focus on maintaining their regular routine to ensure they feel comfortable and secure. I provide fresh food and water, follow any specific dietary needs, and make sure they get enough exercise, whether it’s through walks, playtime, or interactive activities. I also give them plenty of affection and attention, so they don’t feel lonely or stressed while their owners are away. Additionally, I monitor their behavior closely to ensure they’re happy and healthy, and I’m always prepared to administer any medications or follow special instructions if needed. My goal is to create a calm, nurturing environment where the pets feel safe and loved.
“Ashley is wonderful. She communicates, send tons of photos, and is extremely trustworthy. We would absolutely hire her again! Lucky to have found her in such short notice as well. Thank you Ashley 👏🏽”

“Peter is consistently great! He takes wonderful care of my two older dogs, they look forward to his visits. He is very thoughtful and always willing to clean up accidents and bring inside packages that get delivered.”

About: Been a dog lover and owner all my life and would love the opportunity to take care of your dog if our schedules are able to align. I'm a teacher, so my summers are generally pretty open. I work Monday and Wednesday nights from about 5-7pm, but am otherwise available, unless otherwise noted in my calendar. Available times may change. I am offering dog walking and drop-ins at the moment, but I will care for any dogs as if they were my own, and will be in contact with the owners on an as needed basis. I plan/hope to expand to dog sitting eventually.
About: I provide loving, reliable care for pets of all ages. Whether it's playtime, walks, or cuddles, your pet will feel safe and happy in my care. I work part-time, so I'm available most weekday afternoons and weekends. I do have college classes Mondays & Wednesdays, so unfortunately I am unavailable in the afternoon those days. Pet care easily fits into my routine, allowing flexible, reliable service for your pets. I care for pets in their own homes, providing personalized attention, playtime, and companionship. I’m unable to host pets due to having my own furbabies, but offer reliable, loving care on-site.

“Katie and Andy, again, took very good care of our two beagles. This is the second time that we have used them, and our dogs love them! They will be our go-to people in the future when our dogs need care.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
