“Trevor was a wonderful and professional sitter for our two pups. He stayed in our home and spoiled our dogs with attention and care. We got regular updates and pictures and came home to an extremely clean house. I highly recommend Trevor and plan to use him again for future stays! Thanks, Trevor, for everything!!”

“Errin is such an amazing pet sitter. We feel extremely comfortable where we’re out of town knowing our pups will be well taken care of and looked after. Errin always goes the extra mile and creates an amazing atmosphere so our dogs are as comfortable as can be.”

“We love Kate! She stayed at our place for a few days while we went to Vegas. She was so great with both our dogs. We will definitely have her back for future pet sitting!”

“Ella did such a great job - she watched our dog on short notice and was very responsive and kind the whole weekend. Will definitely reach out again in the future because we came home to a clean house and happy pup!”

“Vanessa was amazing while watching my dog Cloud!! I could not have asked for a better sitter. She was open to options to allow Cloud to have the best time with her while I was away on vacation. I also loved that she is a vet tech so I know she has the knowledge and training to do what's best if anything were to happen. I would definitely recommend letting her sit your pup, because she treats them like her own!”
“Sophia did a wonderful job looking after our home and two dogs. They were calm and looked after when we got home, the house was clean and she was even kind enough to take water the garden for us. She communicated very well before during and after, was punctual and honest.”

“Marina was fantastic with our crew of five cats! She was incredibly communicative throughout the sit, sending regular updates with photos that put our minds at ease every day. She gave all the kitties their regular outside cube time and even kept our fish thriving. What really stood out was how she won over our most particular cat, which is not an easy feat and speaks to her patience and genuine care. We’d trust Marina with our cats (and fish!) again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!”

“Nathan did an amazing job taking care of our dog! He went above and beyond in every way and was incredibly communicative throughout the entire stay. It’s clear he really understands dog behavior; he knew exactly how to read our anxious dog’s needs and adjust accordingly, which gave us so much peace of mind. On top of that, he’s genuinely a super nice person! We’d highly recommend Nathan to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to watch their pets!”

“Bonnie is very experienced and did an excellent job at taking care of my dog and her puppies for the day. She sent photos and updates which was appreciated. My dog loved her right away. Would definitely book with Bonnie again!”

“This was our first visit with Billy. I gave a long list of concerns about our 95lb coonhound and Huskypoo that likes to run away. He came back to walk the dogs later that night and walked into a mess that our pups had created. I'll spare the details, but Billy promptly contacted me that he had 3 dead chickens to clean up (2 inside the house). He didn't call me freaking out, and in turn I would freak out. He text me the info and we talked. He asked for a broom to clean them up. A BROOM?? Billy went went wayyy over the top for us and cleaned up and removed 3 dead chickens before we even got home. I've got a ton of respect for the way he handled the situation and our pups. Needless to say, Billy is our dude now. Thanks, Billy!”
“Mirra was great! Very attentive to the needs of the pups and quick to communicate. One of ours had some stitches on her flank. Mirra kept her from licking them and checked in with a picture just to make sure they were ok along the way. She also stripped the bed which is very much appreciated! Would definitely use her again!”

“Makaelah did a great job with our dog Luna. Luna can be apprehensive to new people at first and she went above and beyond to make my dog comfortable. Also she updated me on how things were going which I really appreciated while we were on vacation. We will book her again for our next vacation.”

“We booked Kayla on very short notice to house/pet sit for us for eight days while we were on vacation. Kayla was very responsive and professional from the first interaction. She sent us plenty of pictures and updates throughout the week. It was clear that Charley had taken to her very well, which has not always been the case with pet sitters. We arrived home to a well-kept house and a happy pet. We highly recommend Kayla and will call her first the next time Charley needs someone to keep her company.”

“Jessica did a super job with Casper. She worked with him do to his back leg problem, to make sure he got out side to play and potty. Jessica keep the house neat and clean up after herself and Casper. I will definitely use Jessica again.”

“So happy Erin was available to watch my babies! She is patient and kind . My dogs can behave like gangsters when they are around someone new. Erin won them over and they have made a new friend. I’m grateful she was here for us.”

About: I’ve loved all animals for as long as I can remember. I wanted to be a veterinarian growing up but when I couldn’t reach that goal I became a vet tech instead. After being a tech for 8 years I decided to start my own pet supply business. When I’m not meeting pets at events I love to walk and spend time helping people take the best care of their pets possible. I work full time running my fun traveling pet boutique, in my off time I love to dog walk for exercise and to help Other pet parents that don’t always have the time. I treat every single pet I meet like they are my own. Trust me she’s nothing but spoiled and loved 🥰 I can administer meds, give all the head rubs and belly scratches needed and show all the care for your special furry family member. Every pet deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.

“Trinity was extremely attentive and went above and beyond to communicate through every step. My husband and I had a little bit of a last minute scramble to find someone to watch our puppies and she immediately made all our worries disappear. She asked all the right questions and made sure to give us timely updates throughout the day. She even cleaned up after staying and helped us with some packages and watering plants. She hands down is a perfect option to watch you fur babies and we will 100% use her again in the future.”

“Here’s a glowing review for Kimmie: We couldn’t be happier with the care Kimmie provided for our dogs! From the start, she was attentive to their needs, making sure they were comfortable and happy while we were away. She played their favorite games, kept up with their routines, and even reached out when needed to clarify instructions, showing how much she truly cares. The daily pictures and updates were such a wonderful touch, giving us peace of mind knowing our pups were in great hands. We’ve already booked her again—she’s fantastic! Highly recommend Kimmie for anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet sitter.”

About: Hi all! ☀️ I’ve sat for my friends and family members throughout the years. I have experience caring for young and senior pets. I don’t discriminate, I love all animals! 💖 No matter the pet, I always make sure they’re always loved and cared for! I love taking pets on a walk, playing with toys, snacking together and cuddling. I don’t have any pets of my own, which means my full focus will be on your angel(s)! 👼 Sitting is also a way to get my weekly dopamine boost, as I am pet-less at the moment 😆 I have a full-time job, so I’m not super flexible during typical work hours M-F, but I have lots of flexibility after work and on the weekends. I would be honored to watch over your babies, thank you for taking time to look through my profile! 🫶 I work full time M-F from 8:30am to 5pm. I WFH on Tuesdays and Thursdays and have some flexibility these days. On M, W, & Th I get home around 6:40pm ish. Free on the weekends! I keep my apartment clean and organized at all times. When I’ve sat for friends/family I always cleaned up after myself and am very respectful of their space. I will also take care of any plant babies you have, as a plant mom myself! 🪴

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oatmeal walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oatmeal maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oatmeal choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
