Before a stay, I like to learn about your dog, including their feeding schedule, sleeping habits, medications, and interactions with other dogs. About: Hi! I’m Ashley, the owner and head trainer at Ashley’s K9 Training. Dogs are truly my life and passion. I run a home-based training and boarding small business on our property in Bertram, Texas. I specialize in behavior modification, obedience, puppy development, and service dog training, so caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and needs is something I do every single day. Dogs staying with me aren’t just kenneled and rotated like traditional boarding facilities. They’re part of a home environment where they receive enrichment, outdoor time, supervised safe play (when appropriate), and plenty of attention throughout the day. I focus heavily on safe, calm energy and good manners so dogs feel comfortable, relaxed, and happy while they’re here. I’ve worked with everything from young puppies to reactive dogs, high-drive working breeds, and service dog prospects. Because of my training background, I’m also very comfortable managing dogs that need a little extra structure or guidance. Outside of training/boarding, I’m a mom to a sweet little girl and we’re a big animal loving family. Our home is full of Australian Shepherds, foster dogs, horses, and plenty of time spent outside. Pet care fits into my schedule perfectly as it is my full time job. Pets are under 24 hr supervision. The property is completely fenced. Dogs will receive proper mental and physical exercise throughout the day (based on their breed, age, energy level, etc.). I do crate all dogs for decompression time throughout the day and for sleeping time. Dogs will be allowed to socialize and play with other animals on the property unless otherwise specified or showing reactivity or aggression. We will sent pics/videos if requested during their stay with us.

While your dog is with me, I'll send regular photo and text updates so you can see exactly how they're doing. One thing I bring that a lot of sitters don't: years of caring for an English bulldog. Bulldogs need a close eye kept on their breathing and overall comfort, and that habit has stuck with me — I watch every dog in my care just as closely, whatever the breed. Once you've taken care of an English bulldog, honestly, every other breed feels easy by comparison.

About: I grew up with dogs (primarily a German Shepherd mix and Lhasa Apso) and cared for my own mixed breed at age 19. Took her to dog training school (Triple Crown Academy) where I learned quite a bit of everything from the best (Jessy Gabriel, Rob Dunn and Dave Kroyer). Upon graduation, I worked for a small business in Dallas, training in-kennel, private lessons, leading group classes and overseeing daycare dogs. Moved to Austin area and took a desk job to keep business hours that were conducive to raising children, but still love dogs. My GSD mix lived 16 years, and now we have a German Shepherd named Mila. I still love to help others with their dog needs, please tell me how I can be of service. :) I am working from home so every break or day off, I am constantly giving my dog attention. She loves to play fetch so I can do that or spend time petting your dog. Whatever makes them happy! I have a fenced yard and kids who love to walk with me while I take dog(s) out for walks. We give each guest attention and love while they stay with us or while I visit them in your home. I am currently working from home all hours of the 40 hour work week. I take a morning break, lunch break and afternoon break to spend time with my dog and can spend time with yours during that time too. I have a fenced yard and make sure that I am with them when outside. I can throw a ball/toy or simply watch them walk around and enjoy the time outside.

I have a beautiful, large fenced in deck that overlooks our property canyon. Additionally, I have a chain link dog run right off the deck. I regularly exercise my pups around the property as well. My personal dogs (3 Dachshunds and a Golden Retriever) spend most of the day outside playing on the deck and sun bathing. They have access to clean water at all times. I generally crate the smaller dogs at night. My cat prefers my daughter’s bedroom, so he’s rarely seen. I am happy to accommodate whatever needs and requests you have for your pet.
