About: Reliable Walks and Attentive Care for Your Dog I provide structured walks and dependable, patient care tailored completely to your dog’s natural pace, routine, and energy level. Whether your dog needs an active neighborhood workout or a gentle, slow-paced potty break, I focus entirely on keeping them safe and happy. • Structured Neighborhood Walks: I keep dogs securely leashed, alert, and focused during walks, ensuring they get the proper exercise and fresh air they need while strictly following your preferred routes and handling rules. • Patience with All Energies: I am equally comfortable handling high-energy dogs that love to stay moving and older, senior dogs that require a slower, gentler pace with zero rushing. • Consistent Routine Enforcement: I follow your exact feeding instructions, gate protocols, and behavioral boundaries down to the letter so your dog's daily structure remains perfectly intact while you are away. Whether you need a reliable daily dog walker or a trusted sitter for drop-in visits, I provide the focused attention and dependable care your dog deserves. I am currently providing pet care full-time, which means I have completely open availability and a highly flexible schedule. Because I don't have traditional office hours or commuting conflicts, your pets will be my primary focus throughout the day, ensuring their exact feeding, walking, and medication routines are never rushed. Caring in My Home (Boarding) • Active and Supervised Yard Time: While my yard is not fenced, I have a small yard setup that allows for secure tie-out lines under my constant, direct supervision. I never leave animals outside unattended. • Excellent Local Mobility: I have a reliable car equipped for safe pet transportation, allowing me to easily take your dog to the best local dog parks in the area for structured socialization and play. • Highly Walkable Neighborhood: I live in a very quiet, walkable neighborhood that is perfect for long, scenic on-leash walks. Your dog will get plenty of outdoor exercise and mental stimulation right outside my door. • Secure Indoor Structure: My home environment is kept secure, quiet, and highly organized to ensure that guest animals—whether dogs, cats, or reptiles—have their own designated, stress-free spaces to relax. Caring in Your Home (House Sitting & Drop-In Visits) • Strict Routine Adherence: I follow your exact household instructions, locking procedures, and gate setups down to the letter to ensure your home remains safe and secure while you are away. • Objective Daily Updates: I send quick, factual text updates and photos after every visit so you know exactly when your pet was fed, walked, or given their specific medication. • Absolute Respect for Your Space: I maintain clean professional boundaries, leaving your home exactly how I found it and focusing 100% of my time on keeping your pets comfortable, safe, and happy in their familiar surroundings.

About: Your Dog’s Home Away From Home 🐾 Dogs have been part of my life for more than 31 years, and I’ve always had a soft spot for Yorkies. I’ve also had a German Shepherd and Border Collies, so I’m comfortable with everything from tiny personalities to high-energy working breeds. In addition to my pre-teen and teenager, my current pack keeps me on my toes: 🐶 13-year-old Yorkshire Terrier 🐶 10-year-old Australian Shepherd 🐶 1.5-year-old Golden Retriever I’m very comfortable managing different ages, energy levels, exercise needs, personalities, and the occasional doggy quirk. I work primarily from home, so your pup won’t be sitting alone all day. I’m around for potty breaks, playtime, walks, supervision, and plenty of company. My backyard is fully fenced, giving dogs a safe place to stretch their legs and enjoy some off-leash time. Most importantly, I know how much trust goes into leaving your dog with someone else. I’ll treat your pup like a member of the family while they’re here. ❤️🐾 And yes, I’m happy to care for cats, too! I grew up with a cat for 10 years and am comfortable with feeding, fresh water, litter box care, playtime, and keeping your kitty company. I’m happy to stop by for visits and make sure they’re cared for and getting some attention. I am a realtor and primarily work from home. I have plenty of flexibility to let dogs out during the day. When my kids get home from school, the dogs get extra love! The dogs love to play in the backyard. After plenty of playtime and dinner, we like to relax and cuddle with the dogs on the couch while watching TV to wind down before bed. I have a fenced yard and three friendly dogs to keep your dog company. I feed dogs in the morning and at night. I let them out multiple times a day - the Golden loves to play and the Yorkie has a small bladder. I have a large crate if ever necessary.

“Taylor's care was simply fantastic. Her own dogs are so gentle and welcoming; you can see that Taylor and her husband are dog lovers. My dog craves exercise, so I was a little hesitant about how she would adjust to staying in an apartment, but I should never have worried! Taylor made sure she had lots of safe, outside, running time at the park! She sent us pictures and updates, and although Sydney was glad to see me, she was also stress-free and obviously well cared for. I recommend Taylor 100%.”

About: I lived on a farm and had all types of animals. I love dogs. Cats are fine, but I love dogs. My wife and I also had parakeets, finches, and cockatiels for a number of years. Since I'm retired, I'm pretty flexible. I like to walk, so taking your dog for a walk would be something I would very much enjoy. When the weather is nice, I enjoy going to dog parks with the dogs. Tell me what you want to do, and I will do it. If there are special needs, i would prefer them in writing. If I think I would not be a good fit, I will tell you. I would expect the same from the client.

They were spoiled with dog park runs every day! And all the love and tuck ins for bed time that our spoiled girl gets at home. Would most definitely recommend and use again!”

About: Hello! I have always had a love for animals especially dogs and cats. I had my own dog, Charlie, who had complex health issues and unfortunately is no longer with me. He made me comfortable with giving medications, insulin/allergy shots, and following instructions with dietary restrictions that I can also provide your pets with when needed. I currently work full time M-F, but my schedule is flexible during the week and most weekends. I have also been employed for over a year with a company in the F/M area providing pet care services in people's homes. I LOVE what I do and always looking for more opportunities to meet new furry friends. My schedule is flexible and I respond quickly to text/phone calls or email when reaching out looking for pet care. I'm able to do morning shifts before I head to my full time job M-F, lunch breaks, and after work. I can often move my schedule around if you need other times throughout the day too. Just ask! Weekends are more open when I am not out of town. I prefer going to the pets home to provide care where they are in a familiar environment. I can provide walks, bring your pet outside to play, clean litter boxes, feed and fill their water, administer medication etc. Boarding in my home can also be provided, as I have a pet and smoke free home and can work with your pets needs to make them feel safe and at home.

About: I previously worked part time at a dog daycare as a dog handler. As a dog handler I’ve gained experience with all types of dogs and puppies such as treatments, feedings, and bathing. I’ve also volunteered at an animal shelter where I got to spend time caring and loving for dogs and even cats. Many of my duties contained walking, cuddling & playing! I have two dogs of my own that I care for full-time named Bucky and Shadow— they love making new fur friends but don't have to tag along on visits. I really love what I do and would love to expand my experience by helping others (hopefully you!) with their furry companions. Please don’t hesitate to reach out as I would love to meet you and your pet. Hope to talk soon! I’m currently enrolled in school, but I still have lots of time to play with your pups! My weekdays are usually pretty flexible and my weekends can be as well. I prefer caring for pets in the clients home as I live in an apartment, but that’s not saying I haven’t cared for a dog with me! It’s no problem as long as the client agrees and I have an allotted time to make the temporary arrangements. I am good with directions and punctuality so rest assured your pet would be in great hands!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of Dog Boarding in Oakport is $56 per night as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $39 and $67 per night. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 104 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Oakport. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.

98% of sitters in Oakport can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Oakport home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Oakport.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Oakport sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
