“We are so grateful for Christopher and Samantha’s services! We appreciate detailed updates, videos and pictures. Communication is EXCEPTIONAL. 5 star service all the way!”

“Virginia did a fantastic job with my new puppy Bentley! She came over to meet Bentley before walking him and gave a very detailed summary of everything that took place while walking and playing with him. You can tell that she really loves what she does! I will definitely be contacting Virginia again soon! :)”

“Lucy is so energetic and loves Bodi. She takes control of him so he trusts her and obeys her. She truly enjoys animals and I am thrilled with her interactions with him.”

“Max is always happy to see Kiffin and she is very easy to communicate with about what you want for your dog. Max needs to be urged along and not sniff every 2 seconds. Kiffin makes sure he gets some decent exercise!”

“Suli is on time, communicative and knows exactly the right questions to ask. She's reliable for a pop-in or house-sitting an animal house and she is so great about sharing pictures which is always reassuring.”
“Michael has been so great to work with. Always communicates very well, sends photos, and has helped me a lot during my busy schedule. I’d recommend him to anyone!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs my whole life. My sweet Charlie passed in 2024 and to fill the void, I am now taking care of other people's pets. I work from home, so I am very flexible in my schedule. I can go to your house for boarding, or your pets can stay here. I love having toys around for the pups to play with. Very pet friendly environment. I do not have any other pets in my home. I only have one booking at a time. I want to make sure to give your fur babies all the love they deserve. Its only me at my home. My son is in college.
About: I received my first puppy at 14, trained 4 dogs- all from different breeds and sizes. I say 20 years experience because I have always had a love for dogs and enjoy them at every age. I have walked, fed, bathed, house-sat, and loved & cuddled on those fur-babies! Friends, family members, co-workers, friends of family, you name it, I’ve cared for their animals. I have worked with fish, geckos, small rodents, cats and dogs. Administered medication as needed. And given as much love as they let me! I am late to bed and early to rise which is helpful for tricky schedules. I walk my dog several times a day and we play as much as her little legs can handle, so I definitely have to energy to spend. I do not have any scheduled trip for this summer or so far for fall. My schedule currently involves playing favorite Aunt on occasion to pick up and drop off kiddos. Otherwise you can find me doing a puzzle or working on a project at home. I currently only have one dog, a chihuahua- Queen of my fenced in yard. She has a feeding schedule of twice a day. We use specific words- “cookie” for instance instead of treat. That would be something to learn as all families are different with terminologies. Multiple walks a day or just playtime if we’re not feeling like stretching the little legs. My dog has care at my home if I would be caring for pets at their homes. We enjoy cooking dinner every night (she watches me cook) and snuggles with a good episode on HGTV in bed.
“Katie was so good with our a rowdy 1 yr old- I really appreciated her help with Stella! This was my first time using Rover and I am so glad I did! Stella ended up napping after her walk and play time with Katie so I could work late without a dog in my lap :) Thank you Katie!!”

About: I have had pets and taken care of other's pets for most of my life! I absolutely adore animals of all kinds. I have been house/pet sitting for the last few years on my own but I'm trying to expand my client base and meet new furry friends! I also have lots of experience with cats! A large portion of my clients prefer overnight stays but I am willing to do drop ins as well. I'd love to hear from you soon. I currently work part time and my schedule is pretty flexible. With notice I can make sure I am able to spend plenty of time with your babies! I have done some house sitting before and never had any complaints! I am also very responsive and I will take good care of your pets and your home. No worries!
About: If I could rescue all the animals and take them home, I would! I'm all about tail wags, butt wiggles, kisses, and snuggles. LOTS of snuggles! I'm available daily for dog walks or check-ins, including holidays, and I'm happy to work with your schedule. I have experience in administering insulin and other types of medical needs that are vet-approved by you. Every pet is different, so I work with what's best for them. I make sure to keep things familiar and as stress-free as possible. Keeping to their regular routine is especially important. They will miss their hoomans, but I promise to spoil them rotten while you're away!
“Anna was so great with walking our dog, Cleo! She came over the day before to learn about Cleo’s routines & get a layout of the house and yard. Anna walked Cleo & played fetch with her in the yard. She also sent pictures :) we will definitely be using Anna in the future for our drop-in and walking needs!”

About: I’ve loved dogs for as long as I can remember. My first word was my neighbor’s dog’s name, Ashley! I have been a trusted dog, cat, lizard, and fish sitter for 10 years, and would love to continue! I have experience with elderly and young dogs, and administering medication. I recently got a full time position and am looking for something to do on the side. I am punctual, and patient. I know how it feels to love a pet with your whole heart (even if that pet wasn't mine). I have weekends free, and am free for walks around lunch and in the evening on Mondays and Wednesdays. I have never met a dog I didn’t love and I would love to meet yours! I’m currently working full time but work from home Monday and Friday. Right down the street from Tower Grove Park, where it’s sniff heaven! I love to go for walks and can fit them in the morning, evening and around noon. I don’t have a fenced in back yard but I’m more than happy to go on long walks and training/sniff activities to work through some energy and add some mental stimulation!
“Meaghan had been extremely helpful for me! It was both of our first times using the app but she has been great with my dog! She came almost every day and after my dog realised she wasn’t a stranger he loved going to the dog park with her!! She is super friendly and communicates well whenever there is an issue! I would be happy to recommend her”

About: I’ve always loved being around dogs and grew up caring for one of my own, so I know how important it is to have someone you trust looking after your pet. I miss having that daily time with dogs and would love to help care for yours—whether that’s walks, playtime, or just keeping them company. I’m reliable, attentive, and will treat your dog like my own. I am very flexible with my schedule working, home for weekends and occasionally work from home to be able to make time for taking care of your pets! I live in a safe apartment complex in Kirkwood, Missouri. I am located on the first floor with multiple parks nearby. I hope to make them feel at home!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Oakland
Fiona was amazing with our dog. She was able to work on short notice, and was flexible. She showed up on time, and our dog was in great hands. She also hung out with him, and sat on the front porch with him - which was a nice touch showing that she cared deeply about animals.

Nicole is outstanding! She is sweet and kind to the dogs and always punctual. Belle came from a puppymill and is very leary of new people and new experiences. Nicole is calm and quiet natured which is exactly what Belle needs. Alexa is jolly but partially blind and also, needs consistency and gentle attention. We feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful person as Nicole.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
