With more than 12 years of dog fostering, transport, and walking, I've cared for dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and temperaments and he's been there along for the ride. Our home is 1200 sq ft with over a quarter acre of 6ft privacy fenced backyard space. Our fence is thoroughly checked weekly for any holes, loose boards, and other defects that could lead to escapees. All doors, except for our dedicated office space, are closed during the day, but dogs have access to our shared family spaces. While we do not have a doggy door for backyard access, we do potty breaks approx every two hours or as needed. In our home, it is myself, my husband, and our dog Jessie, who is friendly to all. Although she is friendly, we do pick up all toys, chews, and food when other dogs are in our home. That being said, dogs will also be fed separate regardless of personality simply because dogs act different in homes that are not theirs. We find that this keeps both our dog and yours safe in our home.
