“Nicole is one of our favorite repeat dog sitters for our guy Miko. He was so excited to see her the last time she watched him. She provides lots of updates and pictures. We know Miko is in good hands when she’s watching him.”

About: WE'VE MOVED! Same great care, new location featuring a larger home and more land to play :) We are an active family with 3 children (and one on the way) who love to play outside, take long walks, and even run with our dog. Animals are well-loved in our home and welcome on the furniture. I would love to include your pet in any exercise needs as well! We are available for walking pets before 8 am and after 4:30 p.m. every day. I can also do mid-day drop-ins if located in the Wausau area (best if northeast side of Wausau as I work in the Industrial park or near Merrill since my husband works there). We have a 3500+ sq foot house and 10 wooded acres, so there is plenty of room for more pets to house overnight. My kids absolutely love playing ball and walking the dog, too! We have an energetic black lab who loves to play. I believe in being active and playing as much as possible with my family (but am totally ok watching dogs who love to nap :) ).
About: I’ve owned dogs and cats since I was very young. I’ve watched friends pets when they go out of town and I currently have my own cats and a dog! I’m currently only working part time and from home, so I will have plenty of time to spoil your pups with all the love and attention they deserve! I have a fenced in yard! I also have a friendly pup that would love to keep yours company and play and walk with! <3
“Jon was a super awesome dog sitter. I had him house sit and watch my dogs and took amazing care of my two dogs. He gave me lots of updates of how they were doing. Would highly recommend Jon for any of your animal care needs!”

About: Hello! My name is Ella, and I recently moved back to Wausau after graduating from college in Montana. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Natural Horsemanship, a horse-training method focused on understanding animal behavior and building a relationship based on communication and trust. My degree also included coursework in animal health, animal husbandry, and classes taught by both large- and small-animal veterinarians. My Fiancé, Cooper, also earned a degree in Natural Horsemanship with a minor in ranch management. Like me, he has spent much of his life around animals and is comfortable caring for a variety of pets and following specific care instructions. I grew up on a hobby farm and have had horses nearly my entire life. Dogs have always been part of the family, too—we’ve had everything from Labs and bird dogs to little Jack Russells! I currently have an energetic Blue Heeler who loves joining me on horseback rides and hikes. I’ve also grown up caring for a wide variety of animals, including parrots, dogs, cats, horses, fish, and even a squirrel! This experience has taught me that every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs. I started my own dog-sitting business in high school and continued pet sitting throughout college in Montana. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, horses, and fish, and I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and maintaining your pet’s normal routine while you’re away. I am also comfortable administering medications and providing specialized care when needed. Just let me know what your pet needs, and I’ll do my best to make it happen! My goal isn’t just to make sure your pet is fed and cared for—it’s to make sure they are happy, comfortable, safe, and enjoying their time while you’re away. I want you to be able to relax and enjoy your weekend or vacation knowing your animals are in good hands. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your furry (or feathered!) family members! I work part time and on my own schedule - I run a small horse training and lesson program from home. I can easily fit pet care in throughout my daily routine and am very flexible. I believe pets are happiest and most comfortable when they can stay in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize their safety, comfort, and individual needs while treating your home with the same care and respect I would my own. Before each booking, I like to learn about your pet’s normal routine, personality, feeding schedule, exercise needs, medications, and any special instructions. I follow those routines as closely as possible so your pet experiences as little disruption as possible while you’re away. I am attentive to safety and make sure doors, gates, crates, and other areas are secure, and I’m careful to follow any instructions regarding your pet’s access to the home or yard. I’m also comfortable administering medications and providing additional care when needed. I want you to feel completely comfortable while you’re away, so I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, happy, and cared for—and for you to have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands.

“This was Ashley’s first time taking care of Annie and all was well. Annie can be fearful and timid but Ashley made sure Annie had everything she needed while I was out of town for a wedding.”

“Leora was delightful right after meeting her; she is kind, easy to communicate with and definitely a pet lover! She greeted my dog and he immediately liked her. Her reviews from past clients were accurate and I felt very comfortable with the care and attention she provided. She was very accommodating to the needs and concerns I expressed in regard to the care I desired and communicated with me on how things were going. I would certainly recommended Leora for pet care to any future clients! I will schedule her again for any future needs if she is available!”

“Melissa was absolutely wonderful to work with, and after meeting her for the first time, we knew the dogs were going to be spoiled and loved on as much as possible! She took lots of great pictures, and was very responsive to messages! We definitely will be using her for any future bookings, as she kept my nerves at bay and loved them as they were her own!”

“She was awesome! Sent us lots of pictures of our pup and cat, kept track of when our pup went out and what she did outside, and when/what they ate. Most importantly, our pets seemed very happy in her care. Definitely would like to book with her again!!”

About: I live in the country so can go for long walks, swim in pond . . Will be treated as part of the family and spoiled rotten. Right now I’m still working during the week. I’m looking more at weekends. I can do during the week if your comfortable them being home alone for 6 hours a day. I have a lot of open area , I also have a very friendly dog that loves to have a playmate or just someone to share his treats with. He is very gentle with puppies and older laid back dogs.
“Arianna is a wonderful, efficient, personal, and caring dog sitter. She stayed at my residence for a full week and did an excellent job of caring for my dog Tigger as well as frequently communicating, through texts and photos, regarding his care! She is caring, capable, responsible, and trustworthy. During her stay she and Tigger experienced severe storms and her attention to the safety of Tigger and herself was paramount as well as ensuring the care of my home. I highly recommend her as a sitter; she certainly deserved the 5 star rating!”

“Krystle is nothing short of phenomenal! She took on the challenge of an extended stay with my recently-rescued Shepherd. She was patient with his separation anxiety, sent frequent photos and updates and because of her warm personality and ability to connect with my furry guy — I had zero concerns while I was away.”

“Katie watched our two pitties for three nights in our home, and she was absolutely fantastic to work with!! She came over a few weeks before the scheduled weekend to meet with us, and within a few minutes I knew she was going to love our pups as much as we do! Some people might have been hesitant to stay with bully breed type dogs, but Katie was confident and saw no issues after getting to know them. Her communication kept my nerves at bay, and she provided many cute pictures and updates throughout the weekend. Based on her pictures, I think she got plenty of snuggles! I felt very trusting of Katie and will absolutely book with her again!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Nutterville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Nutterville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Nutterville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
