“Emily is the best! She is amazing with my dog Finn, and I know he is in good hands when she walks or stays with him. I appreciate Emily’s flexibility and her prompt and clear communication. She is not only caring and compassionate, but also trustworthy and conscientious when it comes to my dog and my home. She goes above and beyond. I am so happy to have found her and HIGHLY recommend her.”

“Jamie is awesome! She took great care of out little golden doodle, Julep!! She walked Julep for us 3 times in one long, Notre Dame football game day!! Jamie also took time to stop by and meet us before sitting for Julep the next day!! We will definitely hire Jamie again!!”

“Heather does outstanding with my two girls! My littlest baby lupita who has always been very fearful of strangers absolutely loves her. She usually takes a while to warm up to new people but met heather the first day and loved her. My oldest girl Nana is a big love bug so she of course had to be all over her the first day she met her. Heather made the process of trusting someone other than myself to love and care for my babies as I would a very easy and stressless process. She accommodated all the special needs of my girls, checked in frequently, and answered any questions I had. She was very flexible with her schedule when a change of walking time was needed. I have nothing but good things to say about heather and could not have picked a better person to trust my baby girls with.”

“Kimberlee was great! She was responsive to my request. She was on time for both walks and sent pictures of Finn. I will definitely use her again in the future and highly recommend that you book her as well.”

About: My family always had a pet dog. As a kid I would feed and walk dogs in the neighborhood while they were out of town. As I grew older I would stay at family or friend's homes if they went out of town. I'm in search of a similar situation in South Bend - dog walking and light housework included! Weekdays I can stop in and let the dog(s) out for bathroom breaks. On weekends/evenings I can stay at your home so that the dog is familiar and will make myself available 100% during that time. I prefer to stay or drop in to my client's home. I find that the dog is more familiar/comfortable this way too. I am happy to do a test run so that everyone feels comfortable/familiar!
About: Hi! I’m a reliable and caring pet sitter with a genuine love for animals of all sizes and personalities. I just earned my degree in biomedical engineering and am interested in a side hustle doing something I love - caring for pets! I have experience caring for pets with different energy levels and needs, and I’m happy to provide walks, playtime, feeding, medication administration if needed, and plenty of attention and cuddles. I’m patient, responsible, and detail-oriented, so I’ll always follow your pet’s routine closely to keep them happy and stress-free. I’ll also keep you updated with messages and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in good hands! Pet care already plays a big part in my daily routine since I take care of my own cat every day, including special care and medications. My schedule is pretty flexible, so I have time for check-ins, feedings, playtime, cleaning litter boxes, giving meds if needed, and just spending quality time with pets. I care for pets in their own home where they’re most comfortable and relaxed. I’m very respectful of clients’ homes and always make sure doors, gates, and windows are secure. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is in good hands.
“Joan has been amazing with my dogs and so helpful to me with helping me get in their daily exercise while I’ve been expecting a new baby and my busy schedule. The girls are always so excited to see her and love their walks!”

“Took great care of my corgi puppy, Rudy! Very punctual and spend extra time with him playing after his walk. Followed all care instructions and couldn’t be happier! Thank you so much Lily!”

About: I’ve owned dogs & cats all my life. I absolutely adore fur babies and can’t get enough of them. I have 2 cats of my own as well! I currently am working full time . With Wednesday and Saturdays off. I am available to stay at pet owners home if dog sitting . I am also able to check in on cats everyday as well. If pet owner lives close (within 5-10min) to my work I am able to let dogs out during my work lunch hour. I am also willing to be flexible as well if I have time in advance to try and work something out with my schedule at work! When I pet sit, I make sure dogs/cats have enough food water and toys. I enjoy playing with the animals as well as making sure I am doing the required tasks the owner has asked. I clean my cats litter box daily and when sitting for dogs I make sure I take dogs out multiple times or when Owener ask. I also love going on walks with dogs!
About: I love walking dogs and I make sure I have 2 water bottles for me and the dog(s) or cats. I’m a local, so I know all the hip spots where the dogs like to mingle. I can also care for sick pets and have experience with dogs having seizures and cats with diabetes. I’m willing to learn the proper way to care for your pet when they are in my care. If your pet has any special needs please inform me in full. I can currently only pet sit small dogs and cats in my current residence. A little info about me: I’m a local recent college grad involved in the artistic community around South Bend IN. I work for a local book store and have flexible hours. Mondays - Wednesdays my schedule is more giving. Thursday-Saturday, I am free after 3PM to care for your pet family. I work in the NN Neighborhood, so I’ll finish up at the book shop and can take your pets on a nice walk through the neighborhood. When I am home sitting for a pet parent, I’d like to know if the pets is on a specific schedule and if they are in need any medications. I spend time with the animals sitting outside in the yard or inside the home for pets who cannot handle outside weather conditions. If you have cats, I’ll make sure their litter box is clean when I leave and that all water and food bowls are filled.
About: I’ve had dogs and cats all my life. I’ve potty trained them, taught them how to walk with a leash, taught them tricks like sit stay and say your prayers, and too many to say. I will spoil your fur babies like I do mine. You would never have any worries while you’re away they will be in good hands. I love and enjoy being around dogs and or cats. I’d send you videos and or pictures of your fur baby. Some owners have their fur babies on a schedule if so I will do the same. if there is a park nearby I’d probably take them there. But first I would ask the owner what they would like me to do sense it is their pet. I'm retired so I'm flexible. My routine is the fur babies routine. I'd like to keep it that way for them, so I would need to know. I have a fenced in yard, not big for big dogs tho. They will be fed, played with and cuddled. If they need to be caged I have a large one for their comfort.
About: Ive always known my love for animals since I was very little, especially dogs. I’ve volunteered at a dog shelter a few years ago and loved every minute of it. Animals are misunderstood and some haven’t experienced real love from a human. I’ve worked with puppies to older dogs, big and small. Anything from walking, bathing and some commands I was able to teach. I’m no expert though. I do have one dog of my own and I’m currently fostering for Heartland Rescue to get more hands on. I want to take this to the next level and now care for dogs full time if possible. As I continue this, I will open up more services. You’re pet will feel loved by me even when you're away, as if you never left. I do have a third shift job as well so my schedule at the moment is limited but I make sure to keep it up to date every week. If you are unsure, feel free to ask! The same love, joy, and patience that you show to your pet is the same that I will do. I will also keep the same routine you have for your pet if that is what you would like.
About: Dogs are a part of my soul and will be well cared for. Including walks, playtime, food, water and a doggy door. I cannot wait to meet your pup. I am a stay at home dog Mom. I am always available unless I am running errands. I do 2 meals a day and walk in the afternoon. My pets rule the roost. I will take care of your pets as if they are my own. Also, if I am in your home I will be respectful as if it is my own.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Notre Dame
Nicholas arrived with the confidence and ease of someone who has been walking our dogs forever. He was kind, professional, and immediately made a great first impression. Best of all, the dogs went right to him, greeted him warmly, and happily left with him—leaving me just a tiny bit jealous for a moment 😊. But honestly, that only reassured me they were comfortable and in good hands. I’m so glad we found him, and even more glad that he actually showed up as promised. I’m truly impressed, and the dogs already seem to be waiting for his return next week. Color us happy! 😊

I’ve used Emily numerous times whenever I’m working long shifts and want to ensure that my dog is well looked after during my shift and taken out for a walk. Emily is great and very efficient with her services. My absolute go to when I’m in a pinch! Thanks so much Emily!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
