About: I’ve always had animals in my younger life from cats to dogs, and even though I only have a cat I continue to love dogs. My current housing situation allows me to share dog sitting and caring of his clients dogs (ages 9 months to 14 years) for the last ten years. Since then I have asked my neighbors for tending to the needs of their dogs be it from a 5 mile walk on and off leash to a 100 yard potty break in addition to giving medications. I’m currently working part time three days a week and an occasional Saturday, so I have the time to care and interact for your furry friend. I live in a neighborhood with easy access to the Rivanna trails and a road trip access to a farm with woods in Earlysville for running in fields. I also have a very tolerant cat who actually enjoys dogs staying with me because she’s learned that visiting dogs often get a treat she’s earned one too. My house has hardwood floors on the first floor throughout access to the carpeted lower level is through a door. The dog would have free range of the house while we were at home and unless he/she is accustomed to be crated.

About: Your dog will be on vacation and will enjoy long walks, play time and relaxation while in my care. I can text daily pictures (if requested) and give your dog a bath before the end of their stay. I love taking care of dogs and know they will enjoy staying at my house with me. I've have been pet sitting since the 7th grade and have been the go to pet sitter for friends and family. I also watched bunnies, dogs, cats, fish, birds, hamsters and guinea pig just to name a few. I was a volunteer at the Fairfax county animal shelter for 8 months and have also worked at Petsmart. I love pets and can't wait to watch your pet. I work full time but have a flexible schedule to adjust to the times needed for dog walking/sitting to ensure they are taken care of. I also don't work on the weekend. I am available for house sitting too. I have a small fenced in yard but dogs will be going on walks with me and always in the home where they can be cozy and comfortable. If your dog love the beach let me know and they can join me on my morning walks.
About: I'm an animal lover, Mom, local business owner, and outdoor enthusiast! Because I'm self employed with a flexible schedule, your pet won't have to spend long hours alone. I focus on low-stress, individualized attention—no overcrowded group walks or forced interactions. I'm comfortable following strict feeding schedules, giving oral medications, keeping up with active routines, and showing lots of affection, kindness and respect to your animals. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness is always my top priority! I'm self employed as a private chef and make my own schedule, so I have the time and flexibility to accommodate your pet needs! About: Hi there! I'm an experienced and loving caretaker for dogs, cats, and all kinds of pets: including chickens, horses, and even the occasional bunny! I don’t do this for the money, I truly find joy in playtime, long walks, and making sure animals feel safe, happy, and loved. I must’ve been a dog in a past life! I know trusting a new sitter can feel nerve-wracking, so I always like to start with a phone call and an in-person meet & greet to make sure we’re a great fit for each other. I put a lot of time and love into each Rover family, getting to know your pets and their unique differences. Each Rover stay feels like its own little adventure, and I truly enjoy every one :) I have years of hands-on experience caring for my own pets as well as those of friends, and I’ve helped train and nurture many puppies along the way. I’m knowledgeable in grooming, basic training, and behavior support, and I bring a calm, empathetic energy to every pet I meet. My background includes work as a supplement advisor at a health food store, where I gained experience with holistic remedies and supplements—including CBD—to help pets with anxiety, pain, and general wellness. I now work remotely in environmental sustainability, which gives me a super flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pet the attention they deserve. I live in a dog-friendly neighborhood perfect for long walks or runs, and your pet will have plenty of love from my partner and animal-loving friends while you're away. Whether your pet needs cuddles, structure, medicine, exercise, or just good company, I’ve got it covered. A couple of notes: I’m not able to accept bookings in homes that use synthetic air fresheners or otherwise strong/harsh scents (unless it can be unplugged or not used beforehand) as it disrupts my ability to be comfortable! I generally prefer stays longer than a single night but will consider one offs especially for repeat clients! Thank you for understanding. NOTE: I am still taking bookings in Asheville, NC - I will travel to you! I am currently living with my partner in Charlottesville VA I happen to work remotely from my computer with a schedule I determine myself. So I am very flexible and able to give lots of attention. I know it can be nerve wracking for your pets and I always meet your pet where they are. I understand that all pets are different with varying emotional and physical needs. I am very empathetic, understanding, and attentive when it comes to adjusting my care per animal. I am active person and love to take dogs on walks but if that’s not their jam, I am happy to curl up with a book on the couch with them.

“Amanda took such great care of our two elderly cats over the holidays--would definitely recommend her to anyone and would employ her services again. Communication was great, the cats liked her and seemed happy and calm upon our return.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, both large and small. During that time, I’ve cared for puppies, rescue dogs that have been adopted, foster dogs for a short term, and dogs with special considerations: including lower half paralysis and deafness. I love being able to play with dogs whether it be a game of fetch or a wrestle session in the living room. I also like taking dogs for walks and letting them explore with their noses. I’m a full time remote worker with a pretty flexible schedule and very limited travel, so I am around the area consistently. Whether it be an early morning walks or multiple romps around the backyard, I’m always game to keep your dog active. I will provide the best care for pets visiting my home and when I am in their space. I like to get on the dog’s level and let them know I’m a friend before we go for a walk or start playing.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Norwood
Carolyn was absolutely fantastic. Not only did she take excellent care of our kitties during the original planned sit while we were on vacation, but agreed to extend the sit twice when our travel plans unexpectedly changed and we were stranded away from home for an additional 5 days. She was quick to respond to all of my anxious cat-mom questions about how my boys were doing, sent great pictures at every visit, and took care of our boys like they were her own. We were so incredibly grateful to have booked with her during this trip, and it meant the world to have one piece of our unexpected travel delays be taken care of.

Cayden is thoughtful, communicative, trustworthy, and responsible— we were so grateful to have had him as our rover for a short period of time! He took great care of our pups, and kept us updated on how each visit went. We look forward to booking him again when he is back from school!

I'm always nervous leaving my cat alone when I'm gone so I was very stressed about all the travel I had to do for the holidays. Chelsea was fantastic and it was clear after the first day that I had nothing to worry about. I would definitely book with her again and would recommend her to anyone!

Anna was amazing and so kind! She was great with communication which was important for me because i’m always nervous to leave my dog behind. She was great with following directions and taking care of my little old lady. I will definitely be using Anna’s service again!
