“Konnie is just incredible. Our golden fell in love with her immediately and we felt so comfortable leaving our sweet girl with her. She kept us up to date on what was happening and even when our poor girl had an upset tummy still loved her:) Konnie is our go to from now on.”

“Sarah is the most thoughtful and considerate dog sitter we have ever had. She is interested in knowing all of your pets’ unique needs, behaviors, and routines. We have referred her to other friends who equally prioritize dog + house sitting services and look to trust someone with experience. Our senior dogs have separation anxiety when we travel for work. Sarah gives us peace of mind knowing that they are given the genuine love, individualized attention, and comfort they are used to with us at home. No matter if it is a smaller trip, or a longer time away, Sarah is prepared, patient, communicative, and generous with our pups. We return home to a clean house every time. We could not recommend her more.”

“Tabbi was great with my little Nahla! Everything was left just as it was when I left you could hardly tell she was there 😀 Will definitely book with her again.”

About: I’ve always had a pet in my 18 years on thiis planet mainly dogs ranging from a Yorkie to a Pitbull. Current doggos I have is a super mutt, Jaspurr and a purebred Husky, Tucker. Pet care for me fits in on a daily basis and has turned into a wonderful part of my routine in the mornings and before bed, starting and ending the day with a good note with the fur babies. I am willing to travel to my clients home and care for their dog there, dogs can get stressed out by relocating especially when their human is away, me traveling to their house is overall better in my option for the dog.
“Peyton did a great job with my pups. One of my dogs is timid and she seemed to have gained his trust and done well with them. She’s also great at communicating and providing updates when needed.”

“I would give Lori 10,000 stars if possible; she is absolutely THE BEST!! Our little Shih Tzu, Molly, took to her immediately, and that is unusual for Molly. While we were away, Lori checked in to let us know all was well so we could relax and enjoy ourselves, knowing Molly was in good hands. Lori is kind and gentle, and it is obvious she loves fur babies. We will definitely contact Lori again when we are in the North Canton area!!! Thank you again, Lori. You're wonderful!”

“Cannot say enough good things about Allie! She is just fantastic! My dogs were very comfortable around her and I know they got a lot of loving! My house was spotless when we got home. First time we've used an overnight dog sitter ever and we couldn't be more pleased with Allie. Will definitely use her again and would highly recommend her. She sent us multiple updates and pictures!”

“Michelle watched our babies during our wedding weekend! She was amazing and we were able to relax and really enjoy our wedding without worrying about our babies. We also have a dog with reactive issues and she was great with her. We highly recommend Michelle and our dogs love her!”

About: I have had dogs my entire life. Over the past 15 years I've become quite fond of special needs and rescue pups. I have 3 awesome dogs and a cat that have chosen us to be there family. I know how terrifying it can be to leave your fur babies with a sitter but I can promise they will be happy and comfortable with me. So if you're like my family and need someone you can trust with your pets we are here to help. We do have 3 kiddos that love the animals too. We are all very pet friendly and we all work together to take care of our fur friends and make sure they are happy and feel loved all the time!

About: Animal welfare is a passion of mine. I've had one animal or another since I was a child and am pursuing a career as a professional dog trainer. Dogs are definitely what I know the most about. I have experience with senior, special needs, and even nursing mothers with newborn pups. I've also fostered and worked for a shelter before. If there is something you are struggling to train your dog that you would like me to try my hand at while they are in my care, I would be more than willing to get more practice in for an extra charge! I look forward to working with you all! I work from home so have a flexible schedule. The only conflict usually is kid school pick up and drop off. After 9:30 am or after 3:30 pm usually works. My dog is dog-friendly and while maybe a little overwhelming wants to play with cats not eat them. I can muzzle and crate train as needed.

“Abby was an excellent dog sitter! She provided me lots of picture updates of what my dogs were up to. She was easy to communicate with. I highly recommend Abby for your pet sitting needs.”
“Sauddi was absolutely amazing! It took no time at all for my 2 dogs to warm up to her. She is loving, kind and knows how to provide an exciting time for the dogs. She provided pictures and updates daily. She took excellent care of the house. We will certainly use her again. Highly recommend Sauddi.”

About: Since I was young, I’ve always had a pet. After college I finally got a pet of my own and they’ve just multiplied over the years! Dogs are my specialty - I’ve taken care of dogs belonging to friends and family & I’ve trained both of my dogs since they were puppies. I’d say what sets me apart from others is that I have plenty of time in the afternoons (and any time during the weekend) to take care of your pup because my job ends early in the day unlike a 9-5 job. I have years of experience under my belt and I just really love animals. Always have and always will! As a teacher, I am always home early on the weekdays so I’ll have plenty of time every afternoon to play with & walk your dog! I am available any time on the weekends and I can board Fri-Sun. My husband and I have a big fenced in yard and 2 friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company! We are firm believers in lots of walks, lots of playtime, and positive reinforcement. If needed, we can provide a crate as a safe space for your dog to lounge in. Our dogs are our children and we will treat your dog with the same love as we treat our own :)
“Rebecca was wonderful with our Yorkie, Hoagie. She watched him in our home over the New Year holiday. We especially liked her detailed daily updates and photos. The messages reassured us that Hoagie was happy while we were away and confirmed that he was adjusting to Rebecca as a trusted caregiver.”

“We did not know Tara before our trip, and I was a little nervous about leaving our pets with someone new. But I didn’t need to be. She did a wonderful job taking care of our beloved dog, and our bunny, and kept us updated on how they were doing, as we had asked - which allowed me to relax and have a nice time away. I highly recommend her!”

“Great communication! ReAna took excellent care of my cat and my place and sent pictures each visit. I really appreciate the check-ins. Would definitely recommend ReAna to anyone as a cat sitter!”

“Katie stayed with our 2 boys without a lot of notice, everything went very smoothly. Our big guy had been having a lot of tummy/health issues recently and she was really good about adjusting diet to try to get him to eat some. Would definitely recommend her for your pets!”

“Took great care of my cat (Coco) and turtle (Myrtle). Even went to extra efforts to make sure Coco got her meds in a timely manner. I'll be hiring Nathan again in the near future!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,227 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Norton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Norton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Norton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Norton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Norton. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
