I see the puppy in them always, even the grumpy ones. With a scared or unsure dog, I don’t try to make friendship happen. I worked for several years at a local veterinary practice and about two years in an emergency veterinary hospital, working with a wide variety of dogs, cats and birds. “Sauddi took care of our three dogs; one husky and two smaller older dogs while we were on a two week vacation. She was extremely attentive, timely, and attended to our dogs. She went way above and beyond with toys and even heated blankets for the older gentleman. I cannot say enough, how amazing she was! I don’t think they missed us at all while we were gone :-) She was very mindful of their well-being and happiness, took them on walks, and sent us pictures every day. Additionally, she also looked after our chickens, and even had to capture a few that didn’t make it in the coop at night! She went beyond full service. I would definitely hire her again and will be disappointed if I can’t get on her schedule next time.”

About: I know how hard it is to trust someone with your pet. My dog is my child and so I take care of others pets with the understanding of how important their pet is to them. I have experience with dog sitting older pets, some that required medication and more intense care. I take it very seriously as I would want someone to do with my dog. I work a full time job but have varying hours. I can do some morning and evenings on those days. Friday and Saturday I do not work and am available anytime. While I wasn't involved in the breeding process, I helped care for all of the puppies until they went to their forever homes, along with our three adult Sheepdogs. I am still (forever) mourning the loss of my childhood dogs and funnel my love for them towards any dog I encounter. I have a cat of my own that I love like my own human child, and I spread that care and joy to any kitty I encounter! I am currently very flexible as I am new to the area and between jobs. My yard is not entirely fenced in, but there is grass in the back and front. I have one cat in my home, so I require cat-friendly dogs that can ideally be crated for short periods if needed. As far as other cats, I know it can be situational, but I do have the space to keep the cats separated to begin with/ the whole visit if necessary. All of our indoor plants are pet-friendly as well!

I also have farm-sitting experience caring for chickens, ducks, geese, quail, rabbits, turtles, pigs, sheep, goats and turkeys. I’ve spent time around cattle, zebras, donkeys and horses as well and am always open to learning and expanding my experience. My schedule is currently very flexible, with plenty of room in my day for the dogs in my care. Our days naturally include outside time, walks, play, meals, companionship and plenty of time to relax. I’m happy to adjust that rhythm around what your dog is accustomed to at home. We have a spacious fenced-in backyard and one friendly, active senior pup who enjoys having company. I’ll learn your dog’s normal routine, what they enjoy, what makes them nervous and any little quirks that help them feel comfortable. I’m happy to follow their normal feeding, sleeping and crate routine if they have one. Ours is a genuinely animal-friendly home where furry friends are welcome to get comfortable, including on the furniture and bed.
“Athena was amazing with my pup while I was out of the country. Even though I didn’t have service she sent lots of pictures and videos so that when I could log on I got to see how well he was doing. She was very mindful and knowledgable about dogs that might have “issues” with anxiety, high energy levels, or anything else that may require special care. I am so happy I found her to watch him because I had peace of mind that he was in great hands while I was unreachable.”

About: I have been a lover of animals for as long as I can remember. From horses, to kitties, to dogs and rabbits, I’ve watched and cared for them all. I love meeting new critters! I have a very flexible schedule working retail and picking up substitute teaching so I can work with you to make sure your pets get the car they need when they need it! I have a sweet baby boy cat who has not had problems with other animals, but can play or leave alone if needed. We have a large house with plenty of room. A nice backyard as well to run and play! If I am at your home, I will follow any directions you have to make sure that your pets get the same care that you would give them!
