“Chris is amazing!! There was a raging storm when it was time to get our sweet boy out. Chris went way above and beyond. We had some packages that we were not expecting delivered . He brought them in and dried them off. Cleaned up an accident due to the storm by JT. Then dried up a very wet dog. We had a second visit to feed JT dinner and let him out. Chris brought up our trashcan from the curb. Which had flooded and is all uphill. We are so very grateful for the quality of care and thought given.”

About: I’ve dog-sat four pups at once, including three big dogs and one little one! I’m comfortable keeping up with different personalities and energy levels, whether that means going on walks, playing, giving lots of cuddles, or making sure everyone sticks to their routine. I love getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel happy, safe, and loved while their parents are away. I’ll be a full-time Occupational Therapy student, with Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays completely open for pet care. On my other school days, I’m available during my 12–2 PM break and after 4 PM. My schedule allows me to provide consistent, dependable care while balancing school. I want every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and at home while their owners are away. I follow their routines closely, provide plenty of supervision and attention, and keep their space clean and secure. I also prioritize communication with pet parents and will keep them updated about their pet’s needs, behavior, or anything I notice that may be a concern. I’m respectful of clients homes, clean up after myself, and always make an effort to leave the space better than I found it.

“This was our first experience with Rover.com and with Arthur D.; we could not have been more pleased. We had recently and unexpectedly said goodbye to our four-year-old cat after a sudden illness, and we weren’t even sure we would be able to take our planned trip. Arthur went above and beyond, adjusting his schedule on very short notice to accommodate us. Communicating with Arthur through the Rover platform was as easy as replying to a text message. The updates following each visit far exceeded our expectations and included pictures of every pet, along with thoughtful details about their eating, behavior, and overall well-being. Arthur was attentive, dependable, and genuinely kind during a very difficult time for our family. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a compassionate and trustworthy caregiver for their pets.”

About: Ive taken care of dogs for a little over 6 years but have been around dogs and cats all my life. Family and friends have relied on me to care for their pets and I enjoy taking care of fur babies. I work from home and finish work around 3:30pm. I am free most weekends for walks and care. With enough time in advance I can dog/cat sit in your home. I ensure a welcoming environment for your pet. I do have a 3 year old chocolate labrador who loves to have guests. I stay as true to their normal routine as possible making it an easy transition for when the owner is gone. I make sure I give extra love and attention to the pets as I would want this for my own pet.

About: My name is Siera, I’m 26, I live in an apartment in Conover with my roommate Savannah. We have a big backyard for playing and there’s a nearby park. I love pet sitting and I need to make a little extra money for tuition and student loans. I am prepared to show your pups a loving and fun time. I can sit for a few types of pets including cats, dogs, reptiles, fish, as well as house sitting with basic household tasks. Willing to help as often as needed. I am willing to accommodate for special needs. I love to go on runs, so dog walking is right up my alley. Caring, loving and fun your fur babies will enjoy time and time again. PAYMENT PREFERRED THROUGH THIRD PARTY (cash, cashapp, Venmo, Zelle, etc.). Contact me if you have any questions. Thank you. I currently work in home with clients from 3:30-6:30 M-F. So I am not available for Pick Up during this time. Ask any additional questions as needed. I provide attentive, compassionate care tailored to each pet’s individual routine and needs. In my client’s home, I strive to maintain their normal schedule by providing fresh food and water, daily walks, exercise, playtime, medication administration (if needed), litter box or yard cleanup, and plenty of affection and companionship. I also keep the home tidy by cleaning up after pets, bringing in mail or packages, watering plants if requested, and ensuring the home remains secure while the owner is away. If caring for pets in my own home, I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment with regular feeding, exercise, enrichment activities, and constant supervision. I treat every pet like family, paying close attention to their behavior and well-being to ensure they feel happy, comfortable, and loved throughout their stay. My goal is to give pet owners peace of mind, knowing their pets are receiving reliable, personalized care.

“Hannah was absolutely fantastic! She was on time every single day, incredibly reliable, and took such great care of our dog Killian. She shared pictures and videos with us throughout her visits, which we loved, and she went above and beyond to make sure his water was full and send us pictures of it. After having a really bad experience with a previous sitter, that extra attention gave us such incredible peace of mind. She also made sure to spend time playing with him each evening, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about making sure he was happy and well taken care of. We truly can’t thank Hannah enough for the wonderful care she gave him. We look forward to having her watch him again and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable, caring sitter!”

About: Hi! I’m a 22-year-old dog lover who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I have hands-on experience caring for my sister’s dog for about 2 years, and for 6 months consistently, I was his main caregiver after she moved out of state. During that time, I handled his everyday care, including feeding, walks, playtime, and giving him plenty of attention and love. That experience made me realize how much I enjoy taking care of dogs and how responsible I can be when someone is trusting me with their pet. I’m also used to taking care of my friends’ dogs, so I’m comfortable around different personalities and energy levels. I’m not a professional dog trainer or veterinarian, but I do have real-life experience, I’m dependable, attentive, and I’ll treat your dog with the same care I would give my own. I know leaving your pet with someone new can feel stressful, so I want you to feel confident knowing your furry friend is in good hands. I’m happy to keep you updated with pictures and messages while you’re away, and I’ll make sure your dog gets plenty of love, attention, playtime, and cuddles. 🐾💗 I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pup! I’m currently studying real estate , so my flexible schedule allows me to give your adorable furry friend plenty of time, attention, love, and care! 🐾❤️ I always make sure pets are safe, comfortable, and supervised while I’m in their home. I’ll follow their normal routine, keep doors secure, and give them plenty of attention and care. I’ll also treat your home respectfully and communicate with you if anything comes up.

About: I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, both big and small! I’ve been trusted to dog-sit, stay overnight with dogs, take them on walks, and bathe them. I love making sure every dog feels safe, loved, and well cared for! I’m currently transitioning back home from Hawaii and will be home for the next six months, so I have a very flexible schedule! I’m available seven days a week, including weekends, for walks, drop-in visits, daily care, and overnight stays. I’m happy to help with morning, afternoon, or evening care and can also provide extended care while you’re away on trips. I’d love to establish a consistent routine with your pup and provide reliable, loving care whenever you need an extra hand! I have two loving pups in my own home but prefer to help pups in their own home or taking pups to dog parks, on walks, and adventures!

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Northlakes

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost of Pet Sitting in Northlakes is $18 per visit as of November 2026. Most bookings cost between $15 and $23 per visit. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. As long as your booking dates and pet profiles are accurate, the price shown before you confirm is the total, including any booking fee.

As of November 2026, there are 582 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Northlakes. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Northlakes. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
