About: I have loved and cared for animals throughout my entire life. I started fostering dogs and puppies a couple years ago (after our 16 year old chihuahua passed away) and it has brought a lot of happiness to our family. My 7 year old daughter especially loves animals and is excited to help care for your pets. We will treat your dog as if it was our own! We look forward to meeting you and taking care of your pups! I’m currently only working part time and I am home throughout the day. I love going on walks daily and can take your dog out multiple times a day! I am also able to close off certain rooms if taking care of a pet where that is needed.

Our pet parent history: Over 18 years, we've raised puppies (black Lab and Boxer mix) and then a cool cat found us, making a party of 5. Post-trio, we rescued a middle-aged Boxer who was sweet on humans but not so much with other dogs and spent several years walking on the wild side with her before she became street-settled. We've been dog park regulars and hosted furritos of friends for slumber parties and were short-term vacation fosters. We've gently nursed our dogs through neuropathy, lung cancer, and Cushing's disease. We found great people to care for our girls on Rover and want to do the same for you! We miss being dog parents dearly and will care for your pets as if they were our own. If you happen to have dog & cat siblings, they are welcome, too! It’s summer break for one of us and the other is self-employed, so we have tons of time to dedicate to your furrito! We prefer not to leave your pup unattended — generally one of us will be with your doggo at all times. Your dog(s) will have access to all parts of our non-smoking home, sofa and beds included! Our dogs were free range, we do not have a crate. We are happy to use yours, please bring if needed. We’ll schedule a meet & greet ahead of time to make sure that you’ll both feel comfortable with us while apart and that your dog is a good match for us. Our home is 2 stories (wood floors downstairs, carpeted stairs & upstairs) with a front yard and small back patio area. We're in a safe neighborhood where we'll take daily walks.

If your pup is a bit shy or just isn't in the mood to meet our puppy, I can easily give them their own dedicated room to relax in so they feel completely comfortable and at ease. I’m also happy to follow whatever routine your dog is used to at home. If you prefer they be crated for naps or bedtime, I can definitely make that happen. Whether they are playing with our pup or enjoying some quiet time, they’ll be treated like a member of our family the whole time they are here.

About: I’ve been a coparent to my brother’s dogs all my life and a sitter to many of my friends’ and neighbors’ dogs and cats, and now have been doing it professionally for a few years. I work from home as a writer and adore the company of a dog and chatting with them throughout the day. I live next to Washington Park and also have a big grassy yard they are welcome to make their kingdom (no dogs on the other side of the fences and lots of squirrels to chase). I prefer to take one dog at a time, but can do two if they are compatible. Your pup will get lots of attention from me. It’s nice for me to get my brain out of the computer and touch down with a little buddha living in the present. I’m very affectionate and chatty and like to pop outside frequently. If they like having a playmate, my brother’s dog Junior is three blocks away and always down to play as are my brother and his family. If they get cold easily, I’m happy to always cover them with a blanket when they are resting. I’m a coldie too and like my house warm, so I get it! I prefer to watch one dog at a time, but can do two if they are compatible, or have a slight overlap. But in general I stick to just one.
