“I’m new to using a dog walker. Finding Deb was a wonderful surprise. I was able to leave knowing Ollie and Penny would be safe, happy and well cared for. I would highly recommend Deb to anyone needing help with their pups.”

“Courtney was wonderful! She was prompt and communicative. She was very considerate of my requests including Blue's hurt toe- so she took Blue on a shorter gentle walk and then gave her some fun time in the yard. I will definitely reach out to Courtney again!”

About: Been a dog lover and owner all my life and would love the opportunity to take care of your dog if our schedules are able to align. I'm a teacher, so my summers are generally pretty open. I work Monday and Wednesday nights from about 5-7pm, but am otherwise available, unless otherwise noted in my calendar. Available times may change. I am offering dog walking and drop-ins at the moment, but I will care for any dogs as if they were my own, and will be in contact with the owners on an as needed basis. I plan/hope to expand to dog sitting eventually.
About: I have cared for dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies for most of my life. Ever since I was 3 years old, I’ve grown up surrounded by animals and developed a strong love and understanding for pet care. Over the past year, I’ve also gained experience caring for a senior dog, including providing patience, attention, and daily support for their specific needs. In addition, I enjoy working with puppies and have experience teaching basic training and new tricks. I treat every pet like family and always strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I am currently working part-time, which gives me plenty of time to care for your pets and provide them with the attention they deserve. I am available on both weekends and weekdays, with the most flexibility in the mornings. I also have availability during some afternoons and evenings, allowing me to accommodate a variety of schedules and pet care needs. I always make sure pets are in a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment, whether in my home or a client’s home. I carefully follow each pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication, and any special instructions provided by the owner. I pay close attention to pets at all times to ensure their safety and well-being, and I make sure they receive plenty of love, exercise, and attention while in my care. I also keep spaces clean, secure, and pet-friendly so owners can feel confident that their pets are being cared for like family.
“April, Was amazing with my pup Carlos. She helped us out at the last minute. She really took her time at the meet and greet. It was clear from the start she is passionate about caring for animals. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to how pups react to situations. Carlos was at ease with her. We definitely wound have her walk Carlos again.”

“Ashley is so caring and thoughtful! She wants me and my dog to be comfortable, and really understands animals and thier needs. I feel very safe having my dog be taken care of by her! Thank you Ashley!”

“Drew has truly been amazing at taking care of our little puppy ! She has been very easy to communicate with and very flexible. Given that our schedules change frequently. She gives us updates on Callaway and even offered extra help when Callaway was sick. Can’t thank her enough!”

“Clarke is a wonderful dog walker: responsible, communicative, dependable, and wonderful with our little dog. She fed, watered, and walked Bitty without fail, which completely put my mind at ease. Since she goes away to college, she’s not always in Michigan, but I’ll want her to help care for Bitty wheboshe has time.”

About: I’ve always been passionate about dogs, and caring for them feels more like joy than work. Whether it’s playtime, walks, cuddles, or making sure meals and routines are on track, I treat every pup like they’re my own. I know how important it is to trust the person looking after your furry family member, so I focus on keeping them safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. From energetic puppies to senior snugglers, I adapt to each dog’s personality and needs. My goal is to give pet parents peace of mind — because your dog deserves more than just care, they deserve genuine attention and affection. I do live on a secluded piece of land with 60+ acres ideal for your pup to stay if needed! We have hiking trails throughout the property and a porch to soak up some rays! I have most weekends off and one day a week I work from home. I can also drop in for evening care when needed ! I have experience with reactive dogs so I’m highly aware of all situations. I’m alert so I can keep your dog safe as well as myself.
About: I have been around dogs all of my life and I have grown up with Boxers. When I was in high school I would watch dogs in my town very frequently, from staying overnight to just walking and letting them out during the day. I currently work full time in Portsmouth. I work in the office M-F but I can make arrangements if your pet needs to be let out during the day. I am respectful and courteous of my clients homes. I clean up after myself and I always keep my clients updated during my stay by providing pictures and reaching out if needed.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
