“Joshua is a great communicator and takes such good care of our cat when we’re away. He’s great at following the directions we provide and sharing pictures and recaps of his visits. He’s trustworthy and we know he truly cares about our fur baby. Thank you, Joshua!!!”

About: I am experienced, responsible, friendly and loved by pets of all ages. Get reliable pet sitting from someone who’s raised a Westie and wrangled puppies. I live and work locally in Lakeland. Available for midday walks and sitting evenings/weekends. I am happy to provide snuggles, walks, park trips, feeding and treats. I previously worked in a pet store providing care for puppies and I currently have a 12 year old Westie. She is very friendly & loves to play with other animals.
“Kim was INCREDIBLE! I have a ragdoll kitty who is very needy! I work from home and had NEVER left him alone overnight. Our first trip away was EIGHT nights!! I was so stressed to leave him and had no idea what to expect! I had Kim come over in the morning and the evening - when he follows us around like a puppy dog! She loved on him, played with him, gave him treats and even brushed him daily!!! He got all the love he needed and after a couple visits by Kim I felt 100% at ease and no stress at all! I will be hiring her every single time from this point on! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”
About: Hi there! My name is Payton, and if your pet could pick their own sitter, I’d like to think we’d be best friends. 😊 I’m a certified canine trainer with experience ranging from basic obedience all the way to working dogs trained in tracking, scent detection, and behavior modification. I’ve worked with puppies, seniors, high-energy dogs, shy dogs, and even the occasional spicy dog that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I also have a background in veterinary medicine, so I’m comfortable administering medications, monitoring pets recovering from procedures, and keeping a close eye on any special needs your pet may have. When your pet is in my care, they’re treated like family. I know how hard it can be to leave your pets behind, so I make it a point to send plenty of photos, updates, and little messages so you know exactly how they’re doing while you’re away. Whether your dog wants to play fetch, your cat wants someone to respect their personal space, or your pet just needs a reliable friend while you’re gone, I’d love to help. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! A little about my schedule: I work at a pediatric dental clinic during the week, but I have a long lunch break that allows me to return home and let pets out, provide potty breaks, playtime, cuddles, check-ins, and feedings throughout the day. Thursdays and Fridays are shorter workdays for me, and I’m off on weekends and most holidays. Creating a safe and comfortable environment is my top priority, whether your pet is in my home or I’m caring for them in yours. In my home, I use secure kennels to provide pets with a cozy, structured space, especially during rest periods or overnight stays. For transport, I have two large, crash-tested Ruffland kennels in my vehicle to ensure every ride is as safe as possible. When caring for pets in their own home, I take every effort to follow your instructions to the letter. I believe consistency is key, so I maintain your pet’s routine, from feeding times and walks to their favorite toys or sleeping spots. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness always come first.
“Isabella did a great job taking care of our senior cat. She communicated right away when Punkin was too stressed and anxious to give her medicine. She suggested another way which worked well. The communication every day through Rover eased my mind about leaving Punkin by herself. We will definitely be using Isabella again.”

“Matt and Nicole did a wonderful job taking care of my cats. It was so great getting pictures everyday and they took so many great ones! It’s nice not having to worry that your pets are fed and taken care of. I’d definitely ask for them again!”

“Thanks to Bethany and Nathan, my wife and I were able to enjoy a much-needed vacation with each other. One that we haven't been able to take in years due to not having anyone at home with the animals. Everything was handled spectacularly with no issues at the house whatsoever. Photos were provided, updates were given, and all instructions were followed to the letter. All communications throughout were clear and delightful, we highly recommend this Duo, and we will be reaching out to them again when the time comes to take another vacation.”

Such as medical visits and other various important appointments I keep all animals well fed.Make sure they have plenty of time to play.Go on walks and rest with plenty of peting and I make sure any special needs are met for the animals

About: I’ve lived my entire life with dogs. I currently have a 8-year-old Australian Shepherd and live with a 5-year-old Golden Retriever. I enjoy walking all dog breeds and sizes, and can help leash train your dog. I currently work remote Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with a one hour lunch break and am fully free on weekends. This leaves plenty of time to take care of your furry friends during the morning, midday, and evening. I would need internet access and a desk or tabletop during weekdays. I am open for FaceTiming, calls, and communication whenever needed and am particular about following instructions provided by the pet parent. They know best about their furry family members! I am also very strict about proper and comfortable leashing on walks or any time outside without a fenced in yard.
“Good communication! Sent me numerous photos during her check ins with my two cats, even fed my fish for me which was extremely helpful. Always on time and interacted with my cats, making them comfortable while I was away.”

About: I have been pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family since I was 13. I have been trusted to care for, feed, walk, bathe, play with, and clean up after all kinds of pets. I am always respectful to you, your home, and your pet. I have a Golden retriever of my own who I love an insane amount, and I will always treat your pet with the same love as I treat mine! I’m currently working a part time job, so I will have plenty of time to stop by and feed, walk, and play with your pet between shifts! I will gladly walk your dog on a leash, or just let them out in a yard. I will always keep eyes on your pet and will play with them during the whole visit! I will feed/give them water as instructed, and am always interested in learning any commands or skills your dog may know!
About: Hi there! I'm Lyndsay! I am a 29, and I've been doing this for 8 years, so I am very understanding of what a dog needs, and will always keep their emotions, safety and energy level all into focus for them to have the best time possible that is beneficial to them! I am known to aimlessly walk around the streets of nyc, letting the city call towards different spots it wants me to see, a perfect quality for walking lovely dogs! Now that I have moved to Flordia, I have all of this pent up energy to be around all the amazing flordia dogs that need love and care! I have three family dogs, one older American Eskimo, and two Border Collies under the age of 4, meaning I am still pretty equip and up to date with handling puppies. My baby sister turns 18 in May and is a type 1 diabetic! Through this experience, I want to help find her the perfect diabetic dog to aid in her growth! I used to have a senior dog who passed away from cancer (bless his soul) but in his final stages, we crafted such a lovely last year of his life through love, support and comfort. This meant, taking medications, being fragile and cautious, but above all, find the love in his heart. I can't wait to meet, play and love your furry friends :) I have a very relaxed schedule, so I am easily accommodating and eager to help out! This is a full time job for me, as I have had over 200 clients over the past 8 years, juggling both this Wag! and personal clients. I have a fenced yard and 3 other dogs inside of my own family home! If they want friendship, we can have playtime. If not, I can crate my own if needed for the safety of everyone involved!
About: I’ve been caring for pets as long as I can remember. I generally just do it as a favor for friends and relatives. I currently own two dogs. I’m good with any age of a dog or cat. I work everyday during the week. However, I do have time on my lunch break to let animals out depending on the distance. I’m free after 4:30 on business days and 3 on weekends. I don’t have a problem staying the night at someone’s house if it’s needed. I cannot currently dog sit at my house due to one of my dogs being aggressive. He’s very slow to warm up and I don’t want to chance it.
About: I grew up on a small farm, including many dogs and a few cats. I have always loved animals and I love all dogs from small to big and heavy. I currently have more than 5 dogs at the moment and love every one of them <3 I work a 8-5 job. I love animals and could always use some extra cash, I love to help out wherever it’s needed, on my days off or during the week! Whether it’s house sitting or just taking your pup out for a walk! I have a fenced backyard with a pool where my pit bulls and labs usually roam free when I let them out! They love fetch and I enjoy running around with them. It tires us both out haha! I also try to take them out for a walk at least once every week or two!
“Thank You Ashley for going over and beyond the call of duty for Chica and me while I was away to my AMVETS Dept. Conference. I would highly recommend Ashley needed a,great Pet Sitter :)”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,910 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Nichols. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Nichols. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
