“Akita is professional, very responsive and amazing! My fur baby felt at home immediately. He even ate his food which he never does when he’s away from home. She was so accommodating and did such a wonderful job taking him on plenty of walks and potty breaks! He was so excited for day 2 daycare. I’m so happy I found a forever sitter for my baby! Thank you Akita!”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I’m patient, caring, and treat every pet like family. I enjoy walks, playtime, cuddles, and making sure pets feel safe and happy while their owners are away. I have a flexible schedule working a part time job that allows me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, and care. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, and sitting while making sure each pet feels comfortable and cared for. I have experience caring for my fur babies and understand how important it is to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. I always prioritize each pet’s individual needs.
About: I’ve taken care of different breeds of dogs, As well as domestic kinds of animals. When working with different animals I make sure I know everything I can about their routine, training, schedules so that they are returned back to owner, the owner is very satisfied with my service with their pets. I connect very well with the animals so that they are very comfortable with me and so that owner feels confortabke entrusting me with their pets. With puppies u make sure to ask all necessary questions with potty training making sure they are taken out often, to any current training being worked on with owner at home. With senior dogs making sure any routine they are on with eating walking or any possible medications are kept on track. Please let me know if their are any questions. Currently I am a stay at home Mom. Any routine any owner needs me to stick with it will be worked with and stay on track with training. I can take 1-2 dogs at a time. I like to do meet and greets so that new pets and their owners can get to know me and feel comfortable with their pets being in my care. I am willing to care for those that aren’t crate trained or in the process training of being crate trained. I love animals that are cuddle bugs! I do not have a fenced in yard but my house large enough for play and can go on walks nearby by park by house. I make sure a gate is up in my house so I can keep an eye on all pets being watched.
“Lisa was great, it was our first time leaving Vida anywhere!! And she can be needy and timid but it was obvious Lisa knows dogs and seemed to have no trouble with our girl. Will definitely ask for her help next time we’re back in town.”

“Jen & Rob took such great care of my dog for day care weekly. He always came home happy, healthy, and exhausted (thank god, he is a high energy Aussie and needed to expel that energy!). Thank you, Jen & Rob for being a safe place for me to bring my dog!”

About: I’m Olivia and I love all animals, but dogs hold a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to meet yours! In addition to helping care for family pets for as long as I can remember, I have over 13 years experience caring for friends and neighbor’s dogs. I’m confident caring for all breeds, age, and size of dog! I began boarding and dog-sitting on Rover in 2019. I’m actively accepting new clients and excited to meet some new pups! ......... I have a 5 y.o. Goldendoodle, Mookie, who is my world. In addition to caring for him, I’d love to help you care for your babe. I take caring for pets very seriously, and wish to make it a positive experience for everyone! I am responsible, kind, and timely. I look forward to cuddling, playing, walking, and caring for your fur baby! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions. Currently I WFH and am available for boarding and occasional drop in visits. Your pet will be given my undivided attention during my time caring for them! I have one dog who no longer uses a crate while I am out of the house, but I can crate your pet upon request. All necessary measures are taken if I need to leave your fur baby alone for any reason (ex. Crating, calming music, medicine, etc.- whatever you specify that makes your baby comfortable!)
“John cared for our dogs as if they were his own. We were in town for one day. I am sure they had just as good a time with John as we did at the zoo. I highly recommend John and would use him again.”

“Jenny and her family were amazing!! They took care of my dog like he was their own. He had so much fun and didn’t want to leave. Jenny also sent me awesome pictures of all the fun he was having. Thank you so much!”

About: I grew up with dogs as small as Chihuahuas and as large as Great Danes so I’m happy to accommodate dogs of any size and breed. I’ve had the opportunity to foster over a dozen strays with less than desirable beginnings, but I believe all pets can reach their full potential with love and attention. I love being outside so I’m down to take your dog for long walks if he or she is up for it. I have a flexible schedule so happy to work around you and your pets needs. I currently work from home and love breaking up my routine with caring for animals. Your pet would be a welcome addition to my day! Trust between a pet owner and sitter is essential so I’m always happy to do a meet & greet or test run before committing to any service.
“Lexi was absolutely amazing! Super communicative and I could tell our dog Stanley had the best day with her. Definitely recommended and we will be going back!”

“Jessica was a great help at short notice to watch our pup Ollie for a doggy day care visit. Communication was easy and her response to my initial inquiry was super quick. Drop off and pick up was also easy, and Ollie came back happy and healthy! Thanks, Jessica!”

About: Since about 12 years old my neighborhood friends would hire me to dogs sit while their family went out of town. I’ve always had a huge amount of love for animals so I never had any problem doing so. Fast forward 5 years later my parents began breeding French bulldogs. My siblings and I had a lot of responsibility on our hands are far as feeding them, bathing, keeping them groomed, making sure they’re up to date on shots and etc. I currently work from home so that’s enables me with plenty of free time to walk, play with/take to the park, and feed your lovely animals! In my home my dog is crate trained. I do have a crate for my puppy for if friends come over and are not comfortable with him I can put him away for a few hours. I prefer all animals be crate trained , but only go to the crate if they would like to do so. I do not mind dogs walking around my house. I have a puppy of my own so every morning I get up and take my puppy on a 30 minute walk as well as every evening once I get home from work. I have an animal friendly house so I usually let pups/kittys run around the house as long as they’ve been fed and taken out for a potty break.

“This was my first try at rover and I am so thankful Karen was able to be our first experience. I have only depended on family for care in the past but now am thankful I can find amazing people like Karen to help me when I’m in a pickle! She was so sweet and welcoming!”

“Leeann was amazing with a last minute booking and being so flexible on drop off and pick up times. Thank you for finding a calm room for her to stay where she was comfortable too!”

“Dottie goes to Emma’s all day, 3 days a week and just loves it! She gets so excited as soon as we pull in the driveway! Emma is responsive, helpful, kind, gentle and great with my little dog!”

About: Early 40’s year old sitter/walker with car. You could say I have 40+ years of experience. My family had a German Shepherd from before I was born and I was very close to her. There has been a stream of pets in my family. Including so so so many cats in NYC. Even going so far as to “rescue” a half feral one. Currently, I share ownership of a dog. As a small business owner of over 10 years, I am able to have a flexible schedule and spend more time hanging out with your pet(s). That said, I have a lot of experience managing other people, and I do have high expectations for clear communication from clients. I have never had a complaint from clients that already have human children. I am very clear about the kind of care I offer. For example, I clearly state I can do 4-8 hrs for letting out. That does not mean that when I get to the sit, you tell me you expect every hour. I also do not cancel other bookings so that you can be the sole client. I have been through that, obliged, and the client was still dissatisfied. I am running a business and the new owner of this app runs on harsh algorithms that hide you in search. Let’s try to be better and more human, than conforming to private equity and their bottom line. For the fur babies, I can follow their diet and pet or play or brush their hair. As long as you give me a list or schedule, I'll do my best to provide it. I have extensive experience with pets at all stages of life. (As well as other kinds of pets which I am open to caring for.) I understand the care required for a wide variety of needs and can do my best to provide reinforcement on current training, but I am not going to be attuned right off the jump to the nuances noticed by your trainer or you... I can reinforce sit, lay down, paw, stay, heel, rollover, or anything else. I can administer medicine. I am not formally trained in pet CPR, but I am trained in human CPR and have looked at videos for pet CPR. When I was younger I worked as a lifeguard, and have a remarkable natural ability to stay calm and act fast in crisis situations. This comes in handy, for example: when protecting my maltipoo from other dogs, managing territorial behavior, or keeping one dog out of another dog’s bowl. My schedule is flexible and I have a car. I have a small business and partial responsibility of my dog, so I do need to be able to run errands, go to meetings, or check in at home to keep that part of my life running. For extended care, and distance further than 5 miles, I prefer be given the option to stay over at clients for the sake of gas costs, time, and energy. First meeting and approach are important to setting a precedent, I first see if the pet will approach me. I like to offer my hand palm down for them to smell. Sometimes it takes a few times smelling the hand before they feel comfortable letting me pet them. In my opinion it’s important not to mess up first impressions with the pet. Spending time together builds familiarity bonds, being attentive builds trust. It’s important to build rapport.
“I was very impressed with Lauren!! She took such great care of my boy today. She sent lots of photos and updates through out the day which was so appreciated and eased any worry I had! Brody looked like he had such a good time and I’m so glad he was able to socialize with some other dogs. He seems very happy and also tired lol. Would love to bring him back again soon! Thank you again Lauren!!!”

Jessica was wonderful! She took great care of my pup and was super kind and patient with him, even when he was being shy and stubborn:) she communicated well and made sure to really ask all the questions needed, to know him, which is always so appreciated!!!

Yusef was amazing! My husband and I had to come to Ohio for a funeral and needed someone last minute to watch our dog, Flex. Yusef was kind, flexible, and took Flex out for a fun day, which gave us so much peace of mind. He turned a very stressful day into something easier by caring for Flex as if he were his own. We’re so grateful and would absolutely recommend Yusef to anyone in need of a thoughtful, reliable sitter.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
