“I cannot say enough amazing things about Melissa and all she did to take care of my 3 cats while I was out of the country for over 2 weeks. Not only did she send daily photos, she sent very thorough Rover cards which really helped comfort me in knowing my kitties were being well cared for. She went above and beyond and is the only sitter I have ever had in about 7 years that has been able to coax my particularly scared kitty with a neurological disorder out- he wanted pets and attention from her which was just remarkable. I will absolutely work with Melissa again and highly recommend anyone to her! All the stars!”

“Amanda was great! I loved all the pictures and videos she sent. I could tell my pets enjoyed her visits. I 100% recommend her and will be contacting her in the future if we need her again ?”

“Logan was amazing with our older golden, Karlee. She updated me at every visit on how Karlee was doing and sent pictures at every visit. Communication with Logan was wonderful. An immediate response every time. I highly recommend her!”

“Courtney was absolutely wonderful with my cat Twan Twan. Before my trip, she even took the time to come by for a meet-and-greet so she could get familiar with my home and get comfortable with Twan Twan. That thoughtful gesture gave me so much confidence before I left. She was incredibly caring and thoughtful during every visit. She made sure he was well taken care of, spent quality time playing with him, and sent detailed updates with photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away.”

About: I’ve been passionate about animals my entire life and bring a deep understanding of dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments to every pet I care for. I have experience with both puppies and adult dogs, and I’m comfortable adapting to a wide range of energy levels, personalities, and behavioral needs including behaviors such as resource guarding. Whether your dog thrives on structure, needs extra patience, or has a more outgoing and playful nature, I take the time to get to know them individually so I can engage with them in the way that suits them best. I understand that every dog and household has its own routines and expectations, and I’m committed to following any specific instructions or precautions to ensure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’m patient, attentive, and also very outgoing, which helps me build trust with dogs while keeping them happy and engaged. I’m also able to administer oral medications if needed and am attentive to any health or behavioral cues. Above all, I treat every pet as if they were my own—with care, respect, and genuine love. I’m new to the area and currently planning my wedding, which gives me a very flexible schedule to dedicate to pet care. Because I’m not working a traditional 9–5 right now, I’m available during weekdays, evenings, and for overnight stays—making it easy for me to give your pets the time, attention, and consistency they deserve. I have experience caring for pets with a wide range of distinct temperaments and understand how important it is to recognize and respect each animal’s unique personality and needs. I’m very mindful of the routines, boundaries, and safety measures that help pets feel secure, and I make it a priority to follow them closely. I treat every home with the same respect and care as I would my own, and I approach each pet as if they were my own as well. My goal is to provide attentive, reliable care while maintaining the natural flow of your home and your pet’s routine—ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away and that you feel comfortable as well.
About: Having been around a variety of animals for my entire life I appreciate the joy and place they hold in their family’s lives. My own soul dog (Sheltie named Finn) passed away in 2025 and he is dearly missed. Though he is gone, my love of animals has never changed. These days I paint animal portraits for shelter donations, care for the pets of family/friends, and now I serve to help those seeking an aid for their furry family member. Every family deserves to know their animal(s) are being cared for with the utmost respect. That is the level of responsibility I take when I will accompany your pet on a walk or to check on them during the day. There is also plenty of room for play and affection! They are your family and deserve to be treated as such. I am currently working part-time weekdays until 2 pm. After work, I am available to assist in the care of animals by walking or checking on their welfare. The first thing I do when arriving is ensure that all animals within the home are well by observing them. Once that is assured, I take the time to let them adjust to my presence by allowing them to meet me on their terms. Afterwards, I ensure water bowls are changed or topped off, litter boxes are emptied if needed, and prepare any dogs for their walks.

“I have been so impressed with Destinee and the care she has provided to my senior dog! She always sends good updates/pictures, and I trust her to take good care of my boy. She has even brought in packages without me asking!”
“Megan did a really great job taking care of our boys while we were away. She reached out to ask for advice on how to make friends with our shy-boy. We are very grateful. Thank you.”

“Kamela is wonderful! I am a new puppy parent and I’m lost but she is great at holding my hand during this process with encouragement and helping me reinforce what I’ve been doing with my pup. I can definitely tell that she enjoys what she is doing and loves my little guy. She keeps me updated throughout the day and lets me know how great the visit is going and if my little guy has done anything new. I’m so happy I found Kamela on Rover ?”
About: I have taken care of pets for a majority of my life. I cared for multiple types of small pets in my youth, and have consistently cared for multiple dogs and cats for the past 20 years. I am working part-time with a wide availability most of the days. I am flexible and can find a way to meet a variety of needs. I stay aware of my surroundings when I care for your pet. I try to think ahead to account for all possible behaviors within the environment at a given time.
“Carly was absolutely incredible! My new rescue pup was very scared and shy and ended up hiding under our yard barn, refusing to come out. Carly immediately called me to explain what was happening, kept me updated the entire time, and truly went above and beyond by staying until I could get more help to the house. Her patience, kindness, and genuine care made such a stressful situation so much easier, and I was so grateful to know my dog was in such compassionate hands. I couldn’t recommend Carly more highly—she’s exactly the kind of person you hope to find to care for your pets!”

“Juliet has lifted weight off our shoulders! She has watched our cats multiple times while we’ve been out of town and has provided them with wonderful care. She is great with communication/ keeping us updated. Our cats never seem stressed when we return home.”

“Nichole does a wonderful job taking care of my cat, Ed. He is very shy but seems to have no issues coming out and letting her play with him and love on him which makes me feel at ease while I’m away. She is very reliable and I will continue to book her when I travel as long as she is available!!”

“Maddie was great! Always on time, great communication. My cats were totally comfortable with her from the first meeting. They were always fed, played with, and litter cleaned. And sends great pictures!😻”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
