“Lydia was wonderful with our two cats! We were gone 6 days and felt at ease with Lydia dropping in every day. She sent us updates and pictures daily and made sure to spend time with them when they came out to see her. I would highly recommend Lydia and will be using her again!”

“Courtney was absolutely wonderful with my cat Twan Twan. Before my trip, she even took the time to come by for a meet-and-greet so she could get familiar with my home and get comfortable with Twan Twan. That thoughtful gesture gave me so much confidence before I left. She was incredibly caring and thoughtful during every visit. She made sure he was well taken care of, spent quality time playing with him, and sent detailed updates with photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away.”

“Lauren was wonderful with our two cats, yet again! The first morning she was there, she immediately recognized that one of our cats didn’t feel well and gave us a call. She was able to put them in separate rooms, and she split her time between the two for the rest of her visits. We came home to both cats happy and healthy. She really went the extra mile, which is beyond appreciated.”

About: Having been around a variety of animals for my entire life I appreciate the joy and place they hold in their family’s lives. My own soul dog (Sheltie named Finn) passed away in 2025 and he is dearly missed. Though he is gone, my love of animals has never changed. These days I paint animal portraits for shelter donations, care for the pets of family/friends, and now I serve to help those seeking an aid for their furry family member. Every family deserves to know their animal(s) are being cared for with the utmost respect. That is the level of responsibility I take when I will accompany your pet on a walk or to check on them during the day. There is also plenty of room for play and affection! They are your family and deserve to be treated as such. I am currently working part-time weekdays until 2 pm. After work, I am available to assist in the care of animals by walking or checking on their welfare. The first thing I do when arriving is ensure that all animals within the home are well by observing them. Once that is assured, I take the time to let them adjust to my presence by allowing them to meet me on their terms. Afterwards, I ensure water bowls are changed or topped off, litter boxes are emptied if needed, and prepare any dogs for their walks.
“Melissa did a fantastic job of taking care of Owen. She was attentive to detail and was respectful of my home. Owen was happy to see her and she cared for him like he was her own”

About: I've been a dedicated dog dad to my own dog for almost 10 years. I have extensive experience with multi-dog households and extended stays, including managing three dogs at once for weeks at a time over several summers. I regularly handle week-long housesitting gigs for family and friends. As a school psychologist, I have endless patience and a structured mindset, so I can easily stick to your dog's specific routines and handle whatever chaos they throw at me. I’m a school psychologist in schools so I am really free on breaks and in the summer! During the school year, I am free early mornings and in the evenings and weekends. I can crate your dog. My own dog gets medication so I’m comfortable with giving medication to dogs. I have experience with training my own dog (clicker and bell training).
About: I absolutely love animals and care for them like family. I take time to understand each pet’s personality and needs so they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away I have experience caring for dogs and cats of different ages, sizes, and temperaments. I’m comfortable with everyday care like feeding, walks, litter boxes, playtime, and following specific routines or instructions. I’m patient, calm, and attentive, especially with pets who are shy, anxious, or need a little extra time to warm up. I also send updates and pics to pet parents as I know these are our babies! Free meet and greet optional before caring for your baby! I follow all instructions given by pet parents carefully because I understand how important it is to keep their pets safe and comfortable. I do not host pets in my own home, and I provide care in the client’s home where pets are most comfortable in their familiar environment. I’m mindful about safety at all times, including doors, leashes, feeding routines, and any specific care instructions. If medications are needed, I’m comfortable giving them exactly as directed. I also make sure pets are secure and relaxed while I’m there. I treat every pet like family and always aim to keep their routine consistent and stress-free. I’m also happy to help with small extra tasks like watering plants if needed while you’re away.
“Kamela is wonderful! I am a new puppy parent and I’m lost but she is great at holding my hand during this process with encouragement and helping me reinforce what I’ve been doing with my pup. I can definitely tell that she enjoys what she is doing and loves my little guy. She keeps me updated throughout the day and lets me know how great the visit is going and if my little guy has done anything new. I’m so happy I found Kamela on Rover ?”
About: I am a lifetime animal lover. I currently have a Rottweiler, and a shepherd mix. I also have two cats, one is part Maine coone and the other is a Manx. I love interacting with cats and dogs and would love to help take care of them for you. I have experience with providing medicine and wound care to animals as well as bathing and trimming nails with the ones that cooperate. 🙂 I currently work full time 7:30-4. My children are also very active so I can tend to be busy certain times of the year. But when I am available I would be able to stop by or take your dog for a walk during the week. I like to make sure all pets are taken care of and loved. I like to treat my pets as a part of the family and not just an animal.
“Amanda was absolutely amazing! I can wholeheartedly trust her to take care of my cat. I will definitely be booking with Amanda in the future. If you are considering booking Amanda, I would 100% recommend it, she’s amazing. My cat fell in love with her, the routine was spot on, and lots of pictures which I appreciated”

About: As a pet parent to three dogs and two cats, I know every pet has their own personality, routine, and unique needs. I also know how stressful it can be to leave them in someone else’s care, which is why I treat every pet as if they were part of my own family. One of the biggest reasons I joined Rover is because two of my own dogs experience anxiety in boarding and daycare settings. Finding someone I trust to care for them in the comfort of our home has always been incredibly important to me, and I want to provide that same peace of mind for other pet parents. I believe many pets are happiest when they can stay in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routine. Although I’m new to Rover, I’ve spent the past eight years caring for my own pets every day. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions, maintaining routines, administering medications when needed, providing exercise and enrichment, and giving each pet the patience and attention they deserve. Because I work remotely most of the week, I’m able to spend more time with pets than someone who’s away all day—something that’s especially helpful for puppies, senior pets, or pets who simply enjoy extra company. You’ll receive regular updates and photos throughout your booking, so you’ll always know how your pet is doing. My goal is simple: to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while giving you complete peace of mind. I live on the south side of Indianapolis and work remotely most of the week, with only two days spent downtown. This gives me the flexibility to serve a wide area throughout Indianapolis and many surrounding communities while offering dependable care for your pets. If you’re unsure whether you’re within my service area, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to discuss travel. Whether it’s a walk, drop-in visit, or overnight stay, I do my best to keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible. I know that maintaining familiar schedules can make all the difference, especially for pets who are nervous when their owners are away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. Before every booking, I take the time to learn your pet’s routine, personality, and any special instructions so I can provide care that’s tailored specifically to them. Whether your pet has medications, dietary restrictions, favorite walking routes, or simply likes things done a certain way, I’ll make sure those routines stay consistent. I’ll also treat your home with the same respect and care that I would my own, leaving it just as I found it. You can expect dependable communication, thoughtful care, and plenty of updates so you never have to wonder how your pet is doing.
“Lauren helped me in a pinch for a last minute drop in. She was quick to do a meet and greet. My dog Ted was very excited to meet her and enjoyed his time with her during her drop in!”

About: I have been helping take care of animals since I was five. I grew up with animals in the house and have always made friends with animals. I have not found an animal that doesn’t like me in my 25 years of life. I help take care of many families who request me multiple times in a year. I am a full-time special education teacher who works from 7:30 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon. I can stay overnight and do drop ins. The times in between the drop ins would just have to be longer during the day due to not being able to leave work. I spend a lot of time with them when I can because they need that consistency of love and care as if their owners were there. I make sure they go to the bathroom, are fed, and given attention since their owners are gone. I love playing with them if they are animals who enjoy playing with toys.
“Maddie was great! Always on time, great communication. My cats were totally comfortable with her from the first meeting. They were always fed, played with, and litter cleaned. And sends great pictures!😻”

Rachel was everything we could’ve asked for. It’s always tough to leave your pups with someone you don’t know but to add the stress of just moving to the mix and it could’ve been a disaster. Rachel did such a good job not only taking care of the pups but also setting our mind at ease knowing we had nothing to worry about. We will hire Rachel to watch our pups anytime she is available and willing to watch them. Thanks again for answering the call on such short notice and treating our pups as if they were your own!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Greenwood. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
