“When we picked up Shadow from her stay, she came back to us exactly how we left her—happy, healthy, and full of energy. All her needs were taken care of, from mealtime and naps to plenty of playtime in the backyard, which made us feel really at ease knowing she was so well looked after.”

“Valerie was a lifesaver when I needed to book her and she had the availability last minute to watch after my 2 dogs. She updated me every single day under her care and would contact me when she had questions just to make sure that my dogs were comfortable and had the proper csre that they needed while I was away. She took them on walks and to the park (checked in with me first), and they had a great time with Valerie! Would absolutely recommend!”

“Amy did an excellent job caring for our dog, Penny. Penny loved playing and snuggling with Amy and her son. We received great communication and pictures throughout the time Penny was with Amy. We would definitely recommend Amy and will use her in the future.”

“We have used Jill H as our sitter several times. Our dog, Moses, has separation anxiety issues and she has been so patient and loving with him, continually working to draw him out. This last stay seemed to be the best report we've had so far regarding his ability to relax and eat well. She has been great with him and we would recommend Jill H anytime!!”
“From the moment they opened the door for the meet and greet I knew i’d be leaving my dog in the best hands. Deborah & Jeffrey are warm and kind individuals who will truly care for your pet. Their three dogs and two rabbits sound like a houseful already, but the home is calm and relaxed and the dogs are curious and sweet. They go the extra mile with care and attention. My dog was a bit under the weather when I took her and they went above and beyond to make her feel better. They provided regular checkins and photos and are quick with responses. I had zero worries, well maybe just one, that my dog may not want to come home. Deborah & Jeffrey are excellent and now my go to for future pet care.”

“Marietta was great with our dog! She sent us updates every day and he seemed very happy to be at her house. She took him for walks and he clearly was given alot of attention. When we picked him up he seemed perfectly fine. We will be using her again in the future!”

“Kayla was amazing! She kept us updated throughout the weekend and sent photos to assure us everything was going well! Her dog is super sweet and my pups loved playing with him! Would definitely recommend!:)”

“Kristan was absolutely wonderful! She provided updates and my dog Harris loved hanging out in her fenced in back yard! I would highly recommend Kristan and will be using her again for my future pet sitting needs!”
“Tosha and her family were a great fit for our picky, middle-aged dog. She had a good time and we got several pictures. Tosha was also very flexible about our drop-off and pick-up times.”

“Joe did an above and beyond job of taking such great care of Ollie for us while we were on vacation. He asked about all of the big and little details of Ollie’s care, was very attentive to his needs and feeding schedule, and I loved that not only did Ollie get plenty of attention from Joe and his family, but he had playmates (Joe’s dogs) to play with and keep him company, and Joe sent regular picture updates! It absolutely puts us at ease that our pup got to have such loving individual attention from a family! I’ve never boarded him at a business-but I’m pretty confident that the level of personal care he got in a loving home far supersedes that of a business. I would hands down book with Joe again!”

“Nicole and her family were amazing with our Maggie girl! She usually doesn’t do well with boarding, but we didn’t have to worry about her at all while she was there! We will absolutely use them again.”

“Our babies, Milo and Quinn, were so well taken care of while we were away!! Garrett and Maria are wonderful and we would highly recommend them! We could tell Milo and Quinnie had a great time - thank you so much!”

“Karen and her family are dog lovers, they all took very good care of Sasha during her stay. I am very satisfied and will be a return customer as long as she has availability. Thank you Karen for being such a wonderful sitter!”

“Candie was so good to our boy, Riley. She made drop-off and pickup easy, she sent daily updates with pictures, and she left us have great peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. 5 stars without hesitation for Candie. Thank you!!!”

“Jackson came through for me at the last minute and watched my dog right before I had to leave for vacation. He provided great communication and really saved our trip. Thanks so much, Jackson!”

“We left our dog to Cynthia for five days, and it was a fantastic experience. Cynthia was responsible and caring, providing daily updates that kept us reassured. Our dog was very happy under her care, enjoying daily walks and playtime with a ball. She also has a large yard, which was perfect for our dog’s needs. We are very satisfied with her care and will definitely reach out to her again in the future!”

“This was only our 2nd time leaving our pup since we adopted her. The first time (at a kennel) didn’t go well. A friend suggested Rover as an alternative. Lauren accommodated a last-minute booking, put our mind an ease, communicated promptly, and kept us updated while we were away. Thalia had a great time playing with her new friends and came home ready for a nap! Thanks, Lauren!”

I took both of my dogs to spend the week with Chelsea. They had an amazing time! She was very good about helping my needy and scared pup immediately. Her patience paid off and he warmed right up to her. She also did great with Em. I highly recommend using her to watch your pets!!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
