About: I've always loved working with animals, and my experience as an ASPCA intern has given me valuable hands-on experience caring for pets. I'm studying biology on the pre-vet track because my goal is to become a veterinarian, so I'm always eager to learn more about animal health and behavior. I have experience caring for cats that require daily medication and special diets, thanks to my own cat's kidney disease. I also enjoy training dogs using positive reinforcement and have taught my roommate's dog basic commands like "sit." I'm patient, reliable, and committed to making every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their family is away. As a pre-vet biology student, pet care is an important part of my daily routine and aligns with my career goals. Every day, I make sure my cat has fresh food and water, a clean litter box, and plenty of attention and playtime. Since she has kidney disease, I also administer her medication and closely monitor her eating habits, hydration, and overall health. Throughout the week, I keep up with grooming, cleaning her living space, and ensuring she stays comfortable and happy. Caring for my cat, along with my experience as an ASPCA intern, has strengthened my passion for animal care and taught me responsibility, consistency, and the importance of recognizing changes in an animal's health. I have no furry friends at the moment and I happen to live by a spacious park and can give them all the love needed. And I am close to a community clinic as well .
“Mary demonstrated absolute resilience in providing care for Nyla, a pet requiring SIGNIFICANT attention, successfully navigating challenges through extremely innovative approaches. We absolutely appreciate Mary never giving up and insisting on making it work! Thank you so much, Mary!”

“Adriana took fabulous care of my senior cat! She's flexible, professional, and a great commicator -- and my girl loved her. Would definitely book her services again!”

“Jamie is fantastic! She is an excellent sitter as well as trainer. She is currently helping us with both. She has a gift with anxious dogs and is very knowledgeable about behavior as well. She educated us and collaborated with us on a plan for my dog that is very picky about which humans he trusts. Overall, she is very helpful, kind, and in tune with the specific dog’s needs!”

“Alyssa is doing a wonderful job with my anxious chihuahua! She has been so accommodating and has been willing to go slow to help him adjust. He usually takes many repeat introductions before he is ok with anyone new, but he absolutely adored her starting from the very first visit!”

“My cat felt safe interacting and snuggling up to John within minutes of first meeting him, and I think it’s because of John’s calm, intentional, gentle presence and demeanor. I couldn’t believe this is his first time cat-sitting because he was so good with my cat. He was quick to respond and was communicative throughout the visits, and asked many questions to get to know my cat’s routines and preferences. John was so polite and easygoing. He went above and beyond caring for my cat for the weekend, and this was a last minute scheduling given last minute plans. So grateful for John.”

“Juliette was amazing again for both of our dogs while we were working/ away. We trust her as she takes great care of them and great care of our house! Would definitely recommend Juliette to anyone!”

About: I have found a way to connect with young or old cats and dogs of all kinds through a patient, loving approach. I make animals as eager as I am to learn behavioral skills while letting them express their personality. In 2015, I fostered two kittens at the age of nine. I then rescued and made them my own. I've had cats in my household my entire life, so I am trained to take care of kittens, adult cats, and senior cats of all personality types. In 2026, I began volunteering at local animal shelters to look after dogs of all sizes and breeds. For three months of 2026, I became a full-time nanny for a two month old Portuguese Water Dog. I trained her basic skills like sit, down, and paw. I trained her behavioral skills with teething, biting, potty training, walking next to me, and not running to other people or dogs during walks. On top of that, I taught her fun tricks like high five, play dead, and spinning. I am currently a full-time college student at Syracuse University. I have classes Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 12-4. I can fit taking care of pets anytime around my class schedule as that is my only big time commitment at the moment. I live in a apartment, so if I care for pets in my own place there wouldn't be a whole lot of room, but I can still manage it if needed for care outside of your home. In your home, I will stay in the respected areas you choose (living room, basement) and get an understanding from you where to get their food, water, toys, etc. If you have a yard, I can play with dogs outside. I have a car so I am able to transport dogs to parks, trails, my apartment, etc.
“Absolutely amazing, completely beyond my expectations. Extremely professional meeting and working out key logistics. Very caring and attentive with my cat. Did an excellent job of caring for him and giving him a few minutes of active play/learning time each day that I was away. Took lots of pictures each day of him playing and learning tricks which really improved my days. 100% would recommend to anyone.”

“This was my first time getting a cat sitter and Adam did his thing. Definitely a 10/10 my cats went from saying who this man to heeeey friend and that itself says a lot! Thank you ssooooooo much!”

“Kaylah was wonderful with our Great Dane during our day trip. She was very accommodating and eager to enjoy her time with our big baby. She sent updates and wonderful pictures. At no point were we not confident that Ellie was in great hands.”

“Skylar was wonderful! Very professional and communicative. Spent a ton of time with our pups and sent thorough updates and pictures. Came home to happy and healthy dogs. Would highly recommend.”

“Sarah was a lifesaver for me, agreeing to come check on my 9 week old puppy with less than 24 hours notice. She took beautiful photos to send me from her visit and gave terrific updates. My puppy was happy and well cared for and I am so pleased both with Sarah and Rover’s service. Amazing.”
“Amanda was awesome & took good care of my bunny Scottie! She was very thoughtful in updating me and I could tell my Scottie had come to trust her over the week of her drop in visits.”

“I'm so happy we chose Sophia to care for our kitties! She is communicative, responsible, and very caring when interacting with our pets. I appreciated the daily videos, photos, and updates she always provided. I will definitely use her again next time I am on vacation.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Nedrow. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
