“Jamie was super nice. Met with us a few days before the drop in date, spent some time with my dog who loved her right away. We will definitely be asking her to check on him again in the future.”

“Kaylah was wonderful with our Great Dane during our day trip. She was very accommodating and eager to enjoy her time with our big baby. She sent updates and wonderful pictures. At no point were we not confident that Ellie was in great hands.”

“Alyssa is doing a wonderful job with my anxious chihuahua! She has been so accommodating and has been willing to go slow to help him adjust. He usually takes many repeat introductions before he is ok with anyone new, but he absolutely adored her starting from the very first visit!”

About: Hello, my name is Amanda! I grew up around all different types of animals ranging from dogs and cats to birds as my whole family are huge animal lovers! I even helped at a doggy daycare that my family owned some time ago.I originally started dog sitting for my family and friends and decided to branch out to help other animal lovers which brought me here on Rover! I currently 2 dogs.My dog Sadie as well as my dog other dog Libby, who are my world! I recently lost my other dog Gunner, who had doggie dementia so I have experience caring for older dogs that have special needs. When they're here ,your dogs will be treated just as how I treat my own , with lots of love and care. I have a 6 foot fenced-in yard as well as a doggie door so your dogs can go outside .I also walk my dogs everyday and would love to bring yours along if allowed . I eventually plan on going for my nursing degree later next year but am currently home most days.I currently work part-time as a home health aide 4 days a week for 4-6 hours each shift. My dad is with me for part of the year from winter to early spring . I have some experience in handling special requirements/and or medications as one of my own dogs had special needs and requires daily medication for her skin allergies . I also offer house sitting, drop ins and am able to do whatever is required to make sure everyone is taken care of and happy!
“Maria was absolutely amazing and highly recommended. She took care of our two dogs and one of then is a bit aggressive (anxiety) with strangers and he ended up loving her. She is so good with the animals and just an overall great person. We hope that she will be available in the future for us to use! Thank you so much Maria!”

“My dog Piper is a small mixed terrier that has some separation anxiety and can be very nervous. Ginnie came out to greet us and showed us around the yard. She was great communicating with myself and Piper. Piper came home very relaxed and happy. I would definitely send Piper again and highly recommend her.”

“Naomi is our “go-to” caregiver for our cats, she goes above and beyond to make sure they’re taken care of and we can relax while we’re away knowing that she’s always quick to communicate, she’s reliable, trustworthy and clearly cares about our pets.”

“Alex responds quickly, arrives on time and makes the effort to give me detailed updates and lots of pictures. My cats are pretty shy and it’s been exciting to see them gradually warm up to someone new”

About: Hi, my name is Rachel. I have been around all types of animals basically my entire life, dogs being my favorite of course. I've been around small dogs, average sized dogs and larger dogs. Because I'm a highly energetic person and love to run and play, I will be able to provide a great and fun environment to your pup. Since I've moved from home ( New York ) I am no longer around my family pets, whom I miss very much, Rover gives me an opportunity to make friends with your pup's, so for that I'm extremely greatful and excited to get started. I am eager to meet yourself and your fur child, and I'm even more excited to become their very good friend! ?

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Split Rock
Thank you again to Ginnie for taking care of our two cats. They both need a little extra care with their food because of medicine and sensitive tummy issues and Ginnie took care of that. She also was able to water our 3 outdoor potted plants which we really appreciated!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 300 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Split Rock. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Split Rock. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
