“Ed was amazing as always! Took good care of Alfie and sent me lots of pics, videos and messages to keep me updated. When Alfie is with them, I feel very calm and know he’s being taken care of and loved. Thanks Ed! Alfie is excited to stay with you again next week.”

“Maria was excellent! Communication was always quick during both the booking stage and while she had our pup. We received lots of pictures, and my pup was worn out when she got home! “I just picked up my dog from Alex and it was such an amazing experience. I was so nervous to leave him with this being our first time apart. Bruno took to Alex and his home as best as I could hope for. While I was gone Alex would send me videos of Bruno that eased my mind. We will be using Alex whenever we go out of town. If you are looking for a great place to house your fury friend while away look at Alex.”

“Ocean had a great time with them, I was sent updates daily and they are extremely accommodating to everything including food, treats, times, preferences of pictures, etc. The house is super clean with a HUGE backyard to play! Their dog Ollie is the sweetest pup and my baby had the best time with her playing! Honestly could not recommend more!!! Your pup will definitely be happy!🥰 Gracias!”

About: I’ve had 11 dogs throughout my life, and I’ve been lucky enough to raise every one of them from just days or weeks old until they reached old age. I spoiled them endlessly, but I also made sure they were well-trained, social, and comfortable around other animals, dogs, babies, and people. Growing up, my family somehow became the family that animals could count on. I’ve lost count of how many animals we’ve rescued, fostered, nurtured, and helped find loving homes for. We’ve rescued everything from a bag of kittens my mom found in a dumpster at her job, to an abandoned iguana left at our house, to a one-eared dog who literally ran up to our car while we were stopped at a red light. I know it sounds like something out of a movie, but I promise it’s all true! 😂❤️ To me, dogs and pets aren’t simply animals—they’re part of us and part of our souls. They are family members who deserve patience, respect, love, attention, and proper care. They’re incredibly pure, innocent, intelligent, funny, and full of personality, and I genuinely love taking the time to understand what makes each animal special. 🐾❤️ I’m fortunate to be able to make my own hours and choose which days I work, which means I often have more days off than someone with a traditional schedule. If I have a pet-walking booking, I can easily adjust my work schedule around it by moving my workday to another day or starting earlier or later. This flexibility allows me to be reliable and available for pets while still maintaining my full-time career. I love that I can use my extra time to give pets the attention, exercise, fresh air, and companionship they deserve. I do travel occasionally, usually about once a month or every couple of months, but I always plan ahead and will let pet parents know in advance and block off any dates I’ll be out of town. I believe every pet and every breed is different, so I care for them based on their individual personality, needs, age, and health. When I had my English Bulldog, he preferred a slower, more laid-back lifestyle. Because of his build, exercise was important, but we kept our walks slow and comfortable, and he was usually very quick when it came to using the bathroom. I currently have a 9-month-old miniature Dachshund who is the complete opposite! He loves sniffing absolutely everything, so our walks tend to be much longer. I never rush him when he’s using the bathroom or exploring because I believe walks should be enjoyable, not something a dog has to hurry through. Because we live in Florida, I’m also very mindful of the heat and strong sun and bring an umbrella for extra shade when needed. He is definitely a very spoiled baby! 😂 He has beds and blankets throughout almost every room of the house, plenty of toys, and lots of space to safely roam and play. Because Dachshunds can be prone to spinal issues, I don’t let him use stairs and carry him up and down whenever needed. He gets monthly de-shedding and grooming, dental treats, coat oils, regular checkups, and of course, an unreasonable amount of hugs and cuddles. ❤️ Overall, I believe pets deserve individualized care, patience, comfort, enrichment, and lots of love. I try to care for every animal the same way I would want someone to care for my own spoiled baby.
“Ilene take care of my kids like if they were hers. I definetely recommend her 200%. They were treated as if they were in a 5 star hotel. Ilene, thank you so much for everything and taking care of my kids.”

“Can’t say enough about Fernando and family. They took my dog in as their own and made sure she was well taking care of while I was gone. If you need a sitter I highly recommend Fernando.”

“Michelle was amazing with my sofie , very caring and tentative. Sent pictures and communicated well . My dog is old and have allergies, she gave her the allergy medication provided and plenty of hugs .”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Narcoossee
I couldn't be happier with the care my dog received! From day one, she kept in constant communication with me, sending photos and updates throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. My dog was genuinely happy during her entire stay, and it showed in every picture. It's clear that she truly cares about the pets she looks after and treats them with love, kindness, and responsibility. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter. I would absolutely book with her again. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of my girl!

We bonded our 18 month puppy with Amanda and it has been a great experience. She took the time to ask about his schedule and habits. With timely messages she kept us updated. We actually had to extend his stay last minute and she was able to kindly accommodate that which helped us a great deal

Dishante and her family were amazing with Kim-Chi! They treated my fur baby like one of their own, and Kim-Chi really bonded with their kiddos. She always looked super happy and comfortable in all of the photos updates. Communication was great the whole time, and they sent us cute photos from her walks too, which we loved. I’d definitely have them watch my fur baby again :)

Antia and her husband David are simply amazing dog sitters. They took fantastic care of our dog Sandy, frequently updating us with plenty of photos and other appropriate times e.g. after meal times, after evening walks etc, with zero prompting from us. It feels great to know that your dog is being looked after someone who loves dogs and doesnt see this as just another job. Her own dogs are extremely well-socialized as well so we had no qualms we had initially, dissipated very quickly once we saw pics of them playing with Sandy. Would recommend them in a heartbeat and will 100% use them again as and when the need arises.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Narcoossee home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Narcoossee.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Narcoossee sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
