“Had no worries while we were on our vacation. Jessie sent us pictures and updates along the way, and it was so nice to come back knowing our house and our puppers had been taken care of. Thank you Jessie!”

“Katie is an exceptional pet sitter. We would 100 % recommend her. She asked good questions and listened well, taking the absolute best care of our dog Maeve. Kind hearted and knowledgeable, I wouldn’t hesitate to entrust any animal to her care. Well done Katie!”

About: I grew up with 2 dogs, lab mix and a chihuahua mix. I was especially fond of Rosie( our lab), she was a very loving and sweet pup. I understand how a pet really can become a special part of your life and I know it's important to treat them well. I love having the companionship of a dog in the home and I am very good with dogs even when they are very hyper. I have a patient and loving way with dogs. I'd be happy to play with your dog, take them out for some exercise and give them the attention they need! I'm free if they need to get out in the mornings as you to rush off to work or school!
“We were hesitant to trust anyone but family or friends with our beloved dog, Bella, but Channing completely won us over! Channing stayed in our home for several nights to take care of Bella. With daily pup dates and photos, we knew that Bella was happy and well taken care of. Also, our house was cleaner than when we left! It's clear that Channing genuinely cares for animals and treats them like her own. Thank you, Channing, for providing such wonderful care for our furry family member! We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet sitter.”

“Dorothy was awesome. Very communicative, our dogs loved Dorothy and our home was in great condition when we returned. We loved all of the updates & photos we received but especially loved how comfortable we felt with having Dorothy in our house & taking care of our dogs!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Eliana! Every time I leave my dog, Topi, in her care, I know he’s in the best hands possible. Eliana goes above and beyond to make sure Topi is happy, healthy, and loved while I’m away. I always feel at ease knowing she’s taking care of her. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter.”

About: I have 4 dogs. I always stay behind on family vacations to watch them. I also make sure that they are fed on time, taking care of their medical needs and always put their needs before mine. I don't see dogs as pets but as part of the family. I work part-time at the best Western on Benicia. I at the moment only work afternoon/ evening shifts. So I always get up 5 am every day making sure I get my dogs needs fulfilled before mine. I have a lot of free time in the morning since I take online course at solano community college. I have a fenced in yard. My dogs were not socialized with other dogs in their puppy years. Because of that I always make sure of my surroundings at all times. I also understand breed bias as well since 1 of them is a Rottweiler german shepherd mixed. Again I always make sure that I treat dogs that I take care of as if they were mine.
“Fantastic sitter, thank you so much for being available with such short notice. Our puppy requires a lot of potty breaks and love. Viridiana was perfect and make sure our pup got plenty of love, breaks and attention”

“Giselle did a great job taking care of Rosie and Gracie! She sent pupdates and photos on a regular basis and she asked questions when she needed to be sure of something. The dogs seemed calm and well cared for when I arrived back home.”

“Gabriel was extremely patient with our two rescues giving each the attention the needier one thrives on, while giving space to our more nervous pooch until she warmed up to him. Both in just the right amounts to make our dogs feel more relaxed and secure. Thank you Gabriel!”

“It was a pleasure to work with Patricia, who stayed at my house for five days and took care of my eight-year-old mini doodle, Ruby. Patricia was highly communicative leading up to her stay, sent daily pictures of Ruby while I was on my trip, left the house spotless, and even helped out with our parakeets. When I met Patricia during our meet and greet, I could see that she is a truly lovely and kind person. I look forward to working with her again. Patricia is highly trustworthy, responsible, and most importantly took great care of Ruby, I cannot recommend her services highly enough!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals for as long as I can remember, through every stage of their lives. Growing up with dogs, they have always been like family to me. I’ve had experience with all different kinds of dogs and cats and have also worked at a doggy daycare / boarding center. Spending time with furry friends never feels like work to me. I am fortunate to live at home where I know my own dog is always cared for when I am away, so I can confidently care for yours too! I always enjoy being able to go for walks and make visits during the day in between managing my other responsibilities. As a student, I typically have more availability in the afternoons and evenings. I am happy to visit and walk with your pups during the day, providing them each the individual care that they deserve. I am open to doing group walks as well, depending on your pet’s preferences. I am also able to pet sit, where I can care for your fur babies in the comfort of their own home!
“Melany pet sat my four animals for me for an overnight. She was easy to communicate with before the sit, took lots of cute pictures during, and left my house very clean. I came home to happy animals all around. Would highly recommend for any of your needs on Rover!”
“Fabulous, thank you Aileen! I have the double whammy of a very mischievous dog and a cat with medical issues, and Aileen was totally unfazed. She has a questionnaire for people to fill out beforehand so she can gather as much info as possible, which helped me breathe easy during my 10-day trip! She kept in regular contact with updates and photos, and was very conscientious about making sure the house was in the same condition (or better) as when I left it. Thank you, Aileen!”

“Very patient and caring with two elderly dogs and my German shepherd mix! Kept me updated every day and kept them active. Went above and beyond for the duration of the stay by taking great care of the house and I appreciate all the help!”

“Katelynn was an excellent petsitter for my dog Enzo, she sent us daily pictures, which gave us a peace of mind, and I knew Enzo was very well cared for. I recommend Katelynn completely.”

Giana was amazing with my pups, I think they miss her more than than the girls missed me. Giana stayed at the house and left it just the way I left it clean, tidy and sent plenty of pictures and videos while I was gone. I would highly recommend and trust her for daily walks, stay overs, or other sitting needs.

Here’s a polished version that keeps your warm, genuine tone: Channing was quick to respond to my initial request and came over to meet the fur babies before our trip. I immediately felt comfortable having her stay at our home and care for our pets for two nights. She sent regular photos and updates on all five animals, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. When we got home, the house was spotless and our pets were happy and well cared for. I would definitely hire Channing again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy house and pet sitter.
Dorothy was amazing! She took such good care of our new puppy. Our puppy is still house training and Dorothy was very attentive and helped support her learning. She was also a great houseguest- leaving the place spotless. I’ll definitely be calling her again.

Olivia was fantastic! She was patient with our boys and they became fast friends! We felt confident and comfortable leaving for our honeymoon with our boys in her care. She was communicative and sent pictures/updates daily. House was clean, bedding was washed and bed was made upon our return! We’ve never left our boys with anyone but family before but are so happy to have found someone not only we are comfortable with but our boys as well. Will absolutely try to book with Olivia again the next time we need someone to watch our boys! 💫

Avery did a meet and greet before sitting Archie the first time, and asked good questions. She arrived on time for the overnight stay and left Archie and the house as we left them. She was gentle and patient with Archie, who takes awhile to warm up to new people. We would use her again for dog sitting.

Lauren is the sweetest. My dog loves her. She stayed the weekend at my house, and was prompt, communicative, sent photo updates each morning, and left the house spotless. My dog and cat seemed relaxed and happy when I returned which tells me they got plenty of love and attention.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Napa walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Napa maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Napa choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Napa. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
