“Another great experience with Ciana and her family! Our dog loves her and greeted her excitedly when we dropped him off! We’re so glad we have a home away from home for him when we go on vacation.”

“Katherine made Rosie feel comfortable and happy in her home. She's a dog lover and Rosie could tell. I was gone for 15 days and I would gladly have Katherine take care of Rosie again!”

“Tiffany was great! She was very professional, and her experience was evident throughout the entire process, from the first message to final pickup. She also sent us regular updates with pictures, which we really appreciated.”

“Lauren & Kari were amazing! Our boy, Reggae, was made to feel a part of their family immediately. Their doodle and ours were instant friends. We even got a picture of the two of them sleeping on our boy's bed together...it barely fits Reggae. LOL We were afraid he wouldn't come home because he was so happy and well cared for! The best experience with Rover ever! Thank you!”

“We could tell upon meeting Cymantha that she's a caring second momma to our old guy (almost 12!) And a true animal lover! Her home is set up well for young and old dogs alike and we get nice updates and pictures of him having fun which is reassuring to us as pet parents. Cooper didn't seem to be in a hurry to leave and seemed pretty at home when we came to pick him up which is telling if how comfortable he was. Thank you so much for caring for our old guy!”

“She is the BEST, I will definitely ask her first if I go on a family trip again, she made my shy puppy feel at home, kept me updated throughout my entire trip. Paloma loved her ❤️ thank you 😊”

“Gregory was excellent to work with… Easy communication, great property and obviously cares for the dogs. He went above and beyond taking my dog out for a great hike. I would highly recommend working with him.”

“Tammy was wonderful and very accommodating. We had to change our travel plans a little and she said it was no problem at all. She also sent us updates on how our Molly was doing and took great care of her. We will definitely trust her with Molly again!”

“Laura was friendly, profressional, and made us feel at such ease leaving our baby Digit with her. We were out of thr country and requested emails and she was more than happy to oblige. Laura provided frequent updates and our pup looked happy and healthy in every picture sent. Laura dogs were passive and easy for our dog to get along with. Overall I would definitely recommend Laura”

“Catherine was absolutely wonderful with Winnie! This was his very first time being left with someone he didn't know, so he was quite anxious at first, but Catherine handled it with patience and care. She gave us detailed updates every day, sent photos, and really took the time to understand all of our notes and follow them. We would highly recommend her and would definitely book again!”

“Ashish was amazing ! Very Punctual, Consistent updates about your pet, and lots of pictures. I typically get very anxious leaving my pup somewhere while I’m out of town, but Ashish took the stress away. Definitely going to be a repeat customer!”

“Brian was amazing with our pup. Kept us updated daily on how she was doing. Our dog is a rescue and a was a bit tentative when we dropped her off but, she did very well with Brian over the days he watched her. Highly recommend!!!”

“Mariaelena was amazing! She accepted our last-minute booking and took such great care of our dogs. She sent lots of pictures and updates throughout the day, and they looked so happy and relaxed the whole time. We could tell they were in great hands. I’d definitely book with her again!”

“Lindsey is the best! Our dog is so nervous of new people and other dogs, but she immediately knew how to connect with him. Her dog is also such a sweetheart and got along so well with our nervous boy. She sent us updates throughout each day with videos and photos. We’ve had a lot of dog sitters over the years and she is by far the best experience for both us as dog parents and our little fluffy guy.”

“Cristina did an amazing job! Our little doggie loved her time there. Cristina was great at communication, sending pictures and updates, and was also flexible with her time. We will happily use her again!”

“Donna has been such a gem. She is very flexible. My Coco has special needs with medication and particular eating habits. Donna took great care of Coco while I was gone. It gave me such piece of mind. We are lucky to have found such a compassionate sitter.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Napa
I had a great experience with Emma watching my dog! My dog can be pretty wary of new people, but Emma was patient and took the time to earn her trust. It meant so much to know she was in such caring hands. Emma was also very responsive through the booking process and during my dog’s stay. She kept me updated with check-ins while I was away, which gave me real peace of mind. I’d absolutely trust Emma to watch my dog again!

Channing took great care of our pets during their stay. Our dog Yeti is still a young puppy and can get anxious in new environments, especially with unfamiliar places and car rides. She gave him extra attention and handled him very well. When we picked him up, it was clear he had already started to settle in and feel comfortable. He looked happy, relaxed, and in great shape. Our cat Dusya is older and needs a bit more attentive care. Channing clearly paid close attention to her as well. Dusya looked calm, well cared for, and content when we came to get her. It is always reassuring when you can see that both animals were comfortable and treated with care. We were very happy with the experience and would absolutely recommend Channing to others. Five stars!

My dog Evian had the best time with Maria! He’s a shy rescue Chihuahua who needs a little patience while he gets comfortable and she gave him the space he needed until he was ready to trust her. He looked like he had the best time with her and her dog! I’d highly recommend her!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
