About: Hi there! I've grown up surrounded by dogs and cats of all shapes, sizes, and ages, but I've got a soft spot for wiener dogs – having been a devoted parent of them for over 20 years now! I've acquired the skills to handle specialized care with senior pets, post-op recovery, puppy training, and hospice care. And let's face it, there's no place like home, which is why I'm all about providing in-home pet care (your place or mine) to ensure your pets feel comfortable and safe. As a military family, we're no strangers to moving around, so I understand the challenges of finding trustworthy, affordable, sometimes last-minute pet care. I've become the go-to pet sitter for friends and it's been incredibly rewarding building bonds with my new furry buddies! Whether it's tiny pups or big fluffballs, playful youngsters or grumpy old-timers, I've got the experience to keep them happy and cared for. Let me be your pet's new best friend – guaranteeing fun, love, all the pets and cuddles! I work from home and have the flexibility to set my own schedule, so I'm available most of the time most days - including last minute arrangements when I can. I'm happy to discuss and work with you to see if I can accommodate your needs. Note: due to my dogs’ temperament and size, small dogs or lazy large dogs are the best fit for boarding/daycare. Happy to take dogs for walks, replenish food and water, give medication, play for a bit, and give them all the pets and love for drop in visits. For cats, I can change litter boxes if supplies are available depending on how long you'll be gone and can tidy up around the litter box if cleaning supplies are left out. Happy to water a plant or bring in a trash can too if needed. Dog walking can be catered to whatever your pup's preferences are. For doggy daycare and boarding, I spoiled my dogs, so yours would be equally spoiled too. Walks, feedings, treats, naps, etc. can all be catered to your pup's needs.

“We highly recommend Lindsay - she was Amazing! She walked and played with our dog, Zeus, when we were on vacation in Nags Head. Lindsay asked many important questions about him prior to her visit and even sent a Google Docs summary of his needs. She was very caring and professional and communicated regularly before, during and after her visits. The best recommendation came from Zeus who was so excited to see her after the first day he couldn't wait to run right up to her tail wagging! Thank you for caring for our baby like he was your own! xoxox Nicole, Eric, Evan, Julia & Zeus”

About: I grew up with dogs my entire life! My previous rescues, Bailey and Kira, passed away of old age and it took several years but in January of 2021 I adopted Sprinkles, a lab-hound mix who is approximately 2-ish years old and 50lbs. She gets along well with all dogs and loves to play! She can be rambunctious so if your dog is mellow, she will get on their nerves. I grew up with dobermans and I regularly watch my bff's 10lb small dog (and Sprinkles' friend) so I'm used to dogs both big and small. Nothing phases me - I can administer medication and subcutaneous fluids and can follow complicated feeding instructions - some of our furry friends are finicky! I love the bond formed when walking dogs - it's very special. My home is pet-friendly, with a small fenced-in backyard. Your dog will have a lovely time and I will be thrilled to take care of them! I am a realtor with a very flexible work schedule so there will be a lot of 1:1 time with your pet. We have sidewalks everywhere and a dog park within walking distance (only if you give the ok). I set an alarm and feed them breakfast and dinner consistently at the same time - it typically provides a calming effect when staying in a new place. I can let them out first AM in the backyard and after that it will be walks in and outside of Bermuda Bay, with lots of great sniffs!

“Renee helped us out while we were on vacation and unexpectedly needed to have our pup walked & checked on. Communication was easy and responses were prompt. I had never used a dog care service like Rover but am glad the need came up. It was a positive experience. I will use again the future if the need arises.”

“Kai was fantastic - super friendly and comfortable with our dogs (2 large lab mixes). Very responsive to messages (we had to coordinate around some winter weather). Highly recommend!”

“We had a last minute ask for a dog walker and Aylssa quickly responded. She was flexible and understandable with our needs. We felt really safe and comfortable with her and she was great!”

About: I've always loved dogs and caring for them. It’s important to make sure they get enough exercise and are safe. I enjoy dog walking and playing games with them like fetch and tug. I am happy to administer medication as well if needed. We have two cats, who are very sweet and laid back and normally hide out in basement when company is here! We also have an English Springer Spaniel, who loves playing with other dogs and is a respectful gentleman around the cats. I have a flexible schedule and taking care of your pets needs are at my top priority. I am available weekdays and weekends and also offer overnights. Healthy treats are provided for doggy day care and boarding. Clean dog beds provided, but feel free to bring anything that will make their stay feel more like home. I will always ensure that your fur babies are comfortable, happy, and safe.
“Benni loves hanging out with Carmen! She is so helpful in adjusting his activity schedule to support his “moods”. Benni has enjoyed walking, beach time, ball toss, toy tugging, and all the TLC. I am comforted knowing Benni is in such caring and loving hands while I am on business travel — and Carmen sends me daily notes and pictures of Benni having fun! I highly recommend Carmen as a care provider/companion for your four-legged family member.”

About: I’ve grown up with pets and I love them so much. I truly believe each one is born a sweetheart, and each of them deserve the happiest life we can give them! Currently unemployed, so I am very flexible with my availability! I would be happy to come watch your pets for a couple hours/days, take them for walks, or just play and get their all of their energy out! Each pet has their unique personalities and needs and learning these are important when taking care of any animal! If your pet is a more independent soul, like my oldest cat, then it is good for me to know, so I don't upset them by getting in their personal space! Or if your pet has specific health issues and medicines, like my dog did, then I want to make sure I'm aware of it and can get them the help they need!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
