“Michelle took great care of our pup! We have a 16-month old lab-mix with medium/high energy, and she kept her safe, active, and entertained. She was also flexible with our travel schedule which was massively helpful. Much more reasonable/affordable rates compared to other Rovers in the area. No idea how people justify $75 - $100+ nightly rates; seems outrageous, IMO. Anyways, not much more you can ask for or expect! Great experience all around. Will not hesitate to book with her again if/when the need arises.”
About: I am a full time dog Mom. I have a 7 year old Corgi rescue. He is my heart. He spent a lot of time in a crate at his former home. His people didn't exercise him much so he became a very lazy boy. I want people to know that there are services available that can help with caring for their pets . I love to walk so I thought Rover would be a great place for me to help others get their pets the exercise they need. Dogs are my passion and I know people that work full time jobs still love their dogs but need help some days. I would love to help your dog get some exercise and love. Thank you
“Liz took care of my dog in her home overnight while I was moving us to a new house. All the change and chaos had my dog so anxious and confused, I thought a little vacation and some extra attention would help her feel less anxious. Liz was just what she needed! Right away in our meet and greet, my dog was relaxed and playful with Liz. During her stay, Liz sent me plenty of adorable pictures, kept me updated throughout the stay, and was very easy to communicate with. She was also flexible with time when I ended up with a dead battery and had to move things back a little. Most importantly, my dog came back relaxed and happy :) Thanks for making our move easier for Lucy and me!”
“We were very pleased with Rose's care of Louis and Sassy. We have never left our dogs with anyone other than family so this was a first. Rose has lots of room for dogs to run around which was great since Louis especially is young and needs a lot of exercise. Rose showed us around and explained everything at her disposal for boarding. They were happy when we dropped them off and that made us feel at ease. We were able to enjoy the Labor Day weekend knowing our pups were in good hands! About: My family has always had pets within the house, typically dogs but also various cats as well! During COVID, we adopted a puppy and I was pretty much the main caretaker as I was in virtual school while my parents had to go into work. My younger siblings helped out a bit but I was definitely more trustworthy with the dog. That puppy grew into a 100 lb mutt who is such a teddy bear! In college, my roommate got a Chiweenie, much smaller than my family dogs, but helping out with him helped show me the various energy levels of dogs and the differing enrichment each pet needs! Last October, I adopted a hound mix of my own! She is my best friend and caring for her and interacting with other dog owners has influenced me into looking for helping out with others’ pets!! I’m on a break from my part time employment until April 11th. After that, I will work 40 hours a week, Wednesday through Sunday, with me being off Mondays & Tuesdays. I live in Nags Head but love to commute, my dog as well! So we’re often walking around the neighborhood in the morning then going on a more adventurous walk such as Jockey’s Ridge or the dog park if the sun allows! My dog personally needs a lot of sniffing time so if I’m unable to get a long distance walk in, a good sniffing walk tends to get her sleepy enough to settle. Sometimes I’ll pop by during my hour long lunch break to say hey and give her a puzzle treat game, but not always. I have a fenced in deck that I often let my dog out on. My dog is incredibly friendly and will play with dogs of all sizes, from Dachshunds to Great Danes! She plays rough, so if that’s not your dog’s play style, let me know! I’m willing to take all dogs to the various dog parks around or walk them throughout any terrains, and times! If I’m walking at night, I try to make sure I stay away from popular rods, typically sticking to my neighborhood and always have a large flashlight on hand. I’m very flexible & willing to do many things so don’t hesitate to ask for a certain activity or accommodation if I didn’t mention it!

About: I grew up with dogs my entire life! My previous rescues, Bailey and Kira, passed away of old age and it took several years but in January of 2021 I adopted Sprinkles, a lab-hound mix who is approximately 2-ish years old and 50lbs. She gets along well with all dogs and loves to play! She can be rambunctious so if your dog is mellow, she will get on their nerves. I grew up with dobermans and I regularly watch my bff's 10lb small dog (and Sprinkles' friend) so I'm used to dogs both big and small. Nothing phases me - I can administer medication and subcutaneous fluids and can follow complicated feeding instructions - some of our furry friends are finicky! I love the bond formed when walking dogs - it's very special. My home is pet-friendly, with a small fenced-in backyard. Your dog will have a lovely time and I will be thrilled to take care of them! I am a realtor with a very flexible work schedule so there will be a lot of 1:1 time with your pet. We have sidewalks everywhere and a dog park within walking distance (only if you give the ok). I set an alarm and feed them breakfast and dinner consistently at the same time - it typically provides a calming effect when staying in a new place. I can let them out first AM in the backyard and after that it will be walks in and outside of Bermuda Bay, with lots of great sniffs!

DAILY dog siting (7am-6pm) will be 30$/day. NIGHTLY dog sitting (6pm-7am) will be 20$/ night. Ex: if you drop off Monday at 7am and pick up Friday at 6pm it will be 230$. 5 days @ 30/day=150, 4 nights @ 20/night= 80. Combine the 2 for 230. Simple dog visits 30 min and under 10$. I'm retired and I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to spend with your dog(s). If they are active, I can also run with them. I take dogs on lots of long walks, plus playtime and cuddling. I have plenty of room in a dog friendly house with covered furniture. I have a crate big enough for a 50 lb dog if your dog is used to a crate for naps, etc.

I have a flexible schedule and taking care of your pets needs are at my top priority. I am available weekdays and weekends and also offer overnights.
