Renee helped us out while we were on vacation and unexpectedly needed to have our pup walked & checked on. Communication was easy and responses were prompt. I had never used a dog care service like Rover but am glad the need came up. It was a positive experience. I will use again the future if the need arises.

About: I love animals and have cared for them my entire life! I grew up with dogs, cats, goats, hamsters. I worked in a pet store for 4 years in college. I cared for fish, reptiles, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits etc. You name it, l’ve probably cared for it. I also, had a litter of puppies in recent years. I currently, have 2 Bernedoodle’s. I am incredibly reliable, trustworthy, and flexible. I’m very experienced in animal care and would love the opportunity to grow a bond with you and your pet. I’m very flexible! I’m a stay home mom looking to help families with their pets. I’ll be caring for your pets around my children’s schedule. I’m available to check in on your pets and any of their special needs. I have big dogs so walking a big dog doesn’t scare me and not afraid of tiny dogs with big personalities. I’ve cared for puppies and elderly dogs with medications. Cat’s, I love too! I don’t have any now because my daughter is allergic but I can care for them in your home.

About: I've always loved dogs and caring for them. It’s important to make sure they get enough exercise and are safe. I enjoy dog walking and playing games with them like fetch and tug. I am happy to administer medication as well if needed. We have two cats, who are very sweet and laid back and normally hide out in basement when company is here! We also have an English Springer Spaniel, who loves playing with other dogs and is a respectful gentleman around the cats. I have a flexible schedule and taking care of your pets needs are at my top priority. I am available weekdays and weekends and also offer overnights. Healthy treats are provided for doggy day care and boarding. Clean dog beds provided, but feel free to bring anything that will make their stay feel more like home. About: I grew up with dogs my entire life! My previous rescues, Bailey and Kira, passed away of old age and it took several years but in January of 2021 I adopted Sprinkles, a lab-hound mix who is approximately 2-ish years old and 50lbs. She gets along well with all dogs and loves to play! She can be rambunctious so if your dog is mellow, she will get on their nerves. I grew up with dobermans and I regularly watch my bff's 10lb small dog (and Sprinkles' friend) so I'm used to dogs both big and small. Nothing phases me - I can administer medication and subcutaneous fluids and can follow complicated feeding instructions - some of our furry friends are finicky! I love the bond formed when walking dogs - it's very special. My home is pet-friendly, with a small fenced-in backyard. Your dog will have a lovely time and I will be thrilled to take care of them! I am a realtor with a very flexible work schedule so there will be a lot of 1:1 time with your pet. We have sidewalks everywhere and a dog park within walking distance (only if you give the ok). I set an alarm and feed them breakfast and dinner consistently at the same time - it typically provides a calming effect when staying in a new place. I can let them out first AM in the backyard and after that it will be walks in and outside of Bermuda Bay, with lots of great sniffs!

About: Hi my name is Cyndy I am a reliable Pet Sitter. I have over 20 years of experience caring for all kinds of animals. I have a genuine love and respect for all animals. I worked for a Veterinary hospital and have been trained, but not licensed, as a Veterinary Technician. I also went to school for dog grooming. I am effective in working with them not only because of my experience and knowledge base, but due to my sincere compassion and empathy for them. I retired from Food Lion after 23 years; and since retiring, I have taken my passion for animals to a higher level. I advocate for them in many ways. On one occasion I walked to Washington DC from Manteo to bring awareness to our U.S. Congressional delegation regarding the way our sheltered animals are killed. A few months later I walked from Manteo to Raleigh to address our State legislators as well. I have two rescue dogs, one foster dog, and five rescue cats. When caring for pets I ensure they are fed, watered, and walked. I also ensure they have plenty of play time and, most importantly, know they are loved. I am responsible and take the trust of my clients very seriously. My organizational skills are outstanding and I am able to keep track of appointments and related tasks. I absolutely love animals of all kinds and I am an enthusiastic and loving care provider. My passion shows and I have been commended by my family and friends. I would love to bring my dedication and professionalism to your home or mine as your Pet Sitter. I am enthusiastic and hard working. I am available on most any days. My fee varies depending on distance and how long you want me to spend with your pet. I am confident that you will find me to be an outstanding candidate for caring for your Pet. Please contact me at your convenience for a Meet & Greet. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your time. References upon request. Services provided: Pet sitting, dog walking, dog beach trips, daily pet visits, pet bathing, medication administration, pet taxi, kitty care and can full fill any and all vet appointments. Thank you Regards, Cyndy - The Animal Care Giver

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 65 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Wanchese. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Wanchese. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Wanchese.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
