“Thanks to Theresa I wasn't concerned about leaving my kitty alone for a couple days. She listened carefully to instructions and was attentive to our cat's needs. She sent me an update and photos of their playtime together, which I greatly appreciated. I will not hesitate to book her again the next time we plan to be away.”

“Good communication. I could tell from our first meet and greet that Chanay was going to be a great person to watch my boy. There was a few growing pains with the app but those were handled admirably. She was able to do what I asked of her and even went the extra step ti confirm something confusing. Looking forward to continue working with her. Respected my space and followed directions well even in the absence of a few minor details.”

“Andrea was great at initiating our first meet-up as well as continuously communicating throughout her drop in visits. Our pet was well cared for and not nearly as anxious as she usually is when we are away.”
“Eliza was a wonderful sitter for our senior cat. She was very thorough, thoughtful, and provided timely updates. Highly recommend and would book again in the future!”

“Natalie did great, and the dogs loved her. She took great care of my dogs and gave me the peace of mind that they would be well taken care of. I would definitely book again.”

“Adara is very professional, friendly, and reassuring — a fabulous set of qualities for just what we needed: a reliable cat-friend to check up on two different kitties. 1000% will book again!”

“Stephanie provided so many pictures of our pets during their care! It was neat to see what they get up to when we’re away. She went above and beyond on all of the tasks we hoped for, and made us feel very at ease with being absent from our house. We highly recommend her!”

About: I've grown up in a dog house since I was little, and have always loved taking care of animals. Growing up I took care of our dogs, cat, frog, and my never ending bug farms. I've been the go to pet sitter for neighbors, friends, and family especially in high school. I've taken care of dogs both big, small, and everything in between. I also am good with dogs of all ages and am currently raising my little five month old terrier son so the puppy routine is already drilled in! I've taken care of many elderly dogs with various medical conditions, although each one is unique. If you have a dog with special needs please reach out with details and I will let you know if I'm confident I can accommodate them! I'm always happy to work with a little high energy trouble maker as I had a husky mutt growing up who gave me a real run for my money. If you need someone to take your dog on a walk/run that will knock them out if even for a little bit I'm happy to provide that relief! Additionally I also spent 6 years in a herpetology club which involved taking care of turtles, tortoises, snakes, lizards, frogs, toads, salamanders, and even hissing cockroaches. If you need someone to check in and make sure both their space (heat lamps, food, water, filters, tanks, etc.) and themselves are taken care of I would be very happy to meet some scaly friends. My schedule is fairly flexible as I do scheduled service work. Afternoon visits are when I'd be best available and I'm always happy to help on the weekends! Wether it's a play partner, someone who mysteriously brings snacks and food, or just keeping them company I'd be happy your family happy. I'm more than ready to give a high energy dog some good running in as well!
About: I have been dog-sitting consistently since 2016, and it's something I truly love! My budget and schedule doesn't allow me to have a dog right now, but I love getting to care for others when they need someone reliable and trustworthy to help them out! I work part time and have a pretty flexible job, so can work with your schedule and needs. Reach out to me and we'll see if we can work it out! I am very thorough, detail-oriented, and responsible. I always aim to care for your pets the way I would care for my own, so rest assured, they will be in good hands!
“Emily took great care of our cats and chickens! Our cats are 18 years old and require medications twice a day. She sent notes (via Rover cards) after every visit and also sent us many photos. This gave us such peace of mind and heart. Thank you, Emily!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mountaindale. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
