“Toni was absolutely amazing. Bailey loved her and we received consistent updates, pictures and videos. Toni's communication is out of this world. I would ask Toni to watch our family member anytime. You can book with complete confidence.”

“Kinsey took great care of my puppy while we were on vacation locally. She was very accommodating when we wanted to pick him up and take him places with us. She kept me updated on how he was doing and when I picked him up he was happy and healthy. I highly recommend Kinsey.”

“So happy to have found Sarah and her sweet family. Lincoln stays with ease and seems right at home in their environment. The backyard for Lincoln is an extra plus.”

“This was our first time leaving our two dogs with Brody for a few days while we traveled out of town. Brody took excellent care of them and provided frequent updates so that we could focus on our time away and not worry about our boys. He clearly enjoys what he does. We plan to use Brody again and highly recommend him.”

“Courtney is great! I hired Courtney for daycare in her home. She was terrific to work with - responsive & able to troubleshoot a booking SNAFU on the App. My dog loved her & settled in immediately her dog and cat. Courtney sent a ton of photos & videos throughout the day. I will definitely hire her again!”

About: I currently am working as an ER veterinary nurse. Previously, I was a nurse at a general practice hospital for 6 years, and prior to that, worked at an additional hospital as well as a pet store with exotics. I am more than comfortable administering any method of medication, and taking care of your medical needs, special needs, or senior fur babies. I own two friendly dogs, two sassy cats, and a baby ball python myself- variety is the spice of life. If you’re looking for a medically experienced caretaker for your kids, I’m your gal! *also have grooming experience with medical needs animals I just moved to the Asheville area, so Im excited to explore around. I do work as a ER veterinary nurse in the area, but I still plan on working Rover into my schedule! I have two friendly dogs, who will play with dogs that want to play, ignore the ones who don’t, and will be gentle with the young and little ones. I do not have a yard, but I am very active and used to taking my large dogs for >3-4 mile walks daily.
“Rick loves dogs and takes good care of them. This was the first time my dog had stayed with someone she didn't know but he knew what to do and gave her lots of love. Poppy looks forward to staying with him again.”

“Carlina did a great job with our dog, Maddy. She checked in and sent pics. I really appreciated that it was just our dog and Carolina’s dog there - I think too many make it a stressful stay. Maddy said she was a 10/10, bed and treats were great.”

“Alexis lives on such a beautiful property with plenty of room for our dog to run around and enjoy the open space! King had the best time. Alexis was super communicative and accommodating for our baby! We would definitely book again!”

“Jess, Danny, their daughters and pets were fantastic with Opal! They gave me daily updates about how she was integrating into their household and it made me feel at ease to know she was being well loved while I was away. They have kids, a dog and cats. Opal had never spent any time with cats or children and she did great with them! I’m so glad she had such an enriching experience as I want for her to be a well socialized dog. I’m a proud dog mom!! Their updates included all the details a pet owner would want to know & we’re really heart warming to receive. Opal enjoyed being loved on by their sweet daughters, rough housing with their dog and cuddling with their cat. She truly was a part of the family. I would love to use their services again because I know she had a really great time and felt right at home! Thank you Jess and Danny!”

“Bingo had another great experience with Charlene. She is kind and reliable. Her house is definitely a hub for pup activity as she hosts multiple dogs at once. This is perfect for social dogs who enjoy canine and human company alike. She took good care of Bingo and we're grateful for her help.”

“Buddy had the best time with Kyle and her pup, Louie. They were all fast friends. Kyle was flexible and communicative before and during his stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to trust her again!”

“Wow! We cannot say enough wonderful things about Alyssa and Bryan and the care they gave Theo on his recent (and 1st overnight) visit. The property is a dream, and they are both dog people who know how handle introductions and new environments. Our dog is typically skittish and protective over us and he had the time of his LIFE with them. They are now our go-to in hopes they don’t book out so far in advance haha. So thankful to have found a wonderful family and new friends.”

“Sharon is the best sitter hands down. She sent us so many pics, she kept us up to date with how they were doing and they always came home happy. I hate that she moved away, but anyone in Asheville would be lucky to have her watch their fur-babies.”
“Kingston had a great time playing with Smoky and got great exercise. Jamie and Nathan have an awesome back yard and welcoming home for doggies. Highly recommend.”

“Daniella was the best dog sitter ever! She took such good care of my pups that I don’t think they even wanted to come home! She was very conscientious about making sure they had a lot of playtime outside, and basically made them a part of her family while they were there. I got pictures and an update from her every day and just knowing they were so well taken care of was a huge weight lifted off of me. I highly recommend her!”

“We absolutely loved Fernanda, she was very accommodating to me and to the boys, and made sure I feel comfortable leaving them with her for the first time. She sent plenty of pictures and was kind and gentle with my kiddos. She is a caring and attentive, and that's exactly the kind of person you want to look after your kids. We will be using Fernanda's service from now on.”

“Laura is exactly who we have been looking for. She reassured us and asked if there was anything she could do to make us comfortable with leaving our puppy- what a relief after a having a bad experience with a different Rover Sitter. Ginny had so much fun with her dog Matilda, and came home tired. Laura was the one easy part of our bad day. We will be back!”

“Jill, Tommy and their dog Trixie are amazing and everything you hope for, and then some, and can’t recommend enough. Thank you Jill and Tommy for being so great, I know Asher enjoyed it very much!”

“Birdie had such a great stay with Soraya and will definitely be back the next time I need doggy care! Her home and back yard are well taken care of and secure! She treated Birdie like her own and provided regular pupdates!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Montreat home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Montreat.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Montreat sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
