About: I have been dog sitting for years but started Rover in 2022. I started out caring for my two pugs and cat, and have been sitting for family, friends, and folks on Rover. I am currently working as a flexible overnight nursing assistant, so I have plenty of time to take care and play with your pet! The rest of the days I am here to help, so they can get all the love and attention they can get while you’re away! When I am at a client’s home I make sure fencing is secured if needed. My home has a fence as well. I also make sure they have enough place to play whether it could be inside or out. I prefer to be outside with them! I love being active with animals but if you’re pet is somewhat a couch potato OR old, I can comfort them in whatever way they feel comfortable.

About: I’ve lived with dogs since my first memory. I grew up on a farm, and we had 3-6 dogs at any given time. When I went to college, I adopted the first dog I would raise on my own -- he lived almost 15 happy years. I rescued another pup in my mid-thirties — he’s going on 7, and we’re best buds. So, I have experience taking care of puppies, seniors, and every age in between. My dogs and I have participated in puppy schools and worked 1:1 with excellent dog trainers -- in each case, I learned as much as my dog. I believe dogs just want to give love and get love back. This emotional reciprocation, along with adequate exercise and a healthy diet, makes for a happy, healthy dog. I believe every dog is good by nature, and, as humans, we have a responsibility to provide dogs with a nurturing environment in which they can be their good-natured, happy selves. I love connecting with a new dog, understanding its world and experience. With empathy from this connection, I find it easier to care for a dog and provide the type of love any particular dog needs and wants -- through daily routines, fun-hearted play, and plenty of attention. Ultimately, this leads to a more enjoyable relationship between human and canine. While I’m primarily a dog person, I grew up with lots of cats on the farm and have lived with and cared for cats here and there as an adult. I feel comfortable with cats and understand their needs. I understand the trust required to let someone else take care of your pet. My promise is to always be building and reinforcing my trustworthiness as a caregiver to animals and plants. I walk my dog every day. I understand some dogs need more than one walk per day, depending on their energy level. I also make sure my dog gets outside several times a day to enjoy the fresh air and relieve them. I will do the same for yours, based on your preferences. At this time, I work from home, so my availability for drop-ins or walks is very flexible. I am calm, gentle, and patient and aim to create an environment where the dogs I care for can feel and act the same. When walking, I like to keep dogs on a 6-foot leash (not a retractable leash) and keep the dog walking forward as opposed to stopping every few seconds. I consider myself the leader (not the dog) and intend to set a vibe where the dog understands they have a job to do -- walk!

About: Animals have always been a significant part of my life, offering a journey of continuous learning and growth. My experience spans nearly a decade in the veterinary field, where I gained invaluable expertise in caring for sick and injured pets, as well as horses, cows, goats, sheep, donkeys, and pigs. This diverse background has enriched my understanding and approach to animal care. The greatest source of joy and personal development has been my American Staffordshire mix, Kai. His unique needs led me to explore behavioral modification programs, culminating in my apprenticeship with a lead trainer. I was honored to lead off-leash pack walks for groups of 6-8 dogs, many with ongoing behavioral challenges. For 10 years, I owned and operated a dog boarding, day care, walking, and training company. This experience allowed me to provide comprehensive care and training services to a wide variety of dogs, further honing my skills and passion for animal care. Additionally, I have enjoyed pet sitting and boarding for family, friends, and neighbors over the years. Kai and I are active adventurers, frequently exploring the mountains, coast, and open road. I specialize in caring for sick pets and administering medications and treatments, and I am excited to now offer my skills in animal communication. Rover is my full time job and I dedicate myself fully to pets in my care. I care for them like they are my own. Being an animal communicator helps with this aspect in that I can ask them what they need or what’s bothering them. I have a huge variety of experiences to pull from and will ensure that your pet is cared for as if you were still home. About: I've taken care of a multitude of different species for pretty much all of my life- I've been responsible for our family cat as well as our dog for about four years now. I also keep personal animals such as rats, fish, and birds and have done so for the past ten years. I've petsit for many, including people with elderly cats and energetic dogs. I'm currently working on and off shifts sporadically on the weekends, but should be available every weekday! On the weekends, my schedule is a little less flexible, but I should be able to work with other people's scheduling needs. I'm very attentive to animal body language and commination and so highly value treating animals with the highest respect, asking consent before petting or handling, and making sure they are comfortable with me!

It's my pleasure to make them feel safe, loved, well fed and fully exercised! I am happy to offer extra services that include picking up or dropping off (you provide crate), giving medications orally or topically (I don't do injections), brushing fur, cleaning litter boxes, feeding your other animals, etc. Please don't hesitate to ask for more help, I'm here for you and your pet! I don't have a lot of experience with disabled or very old animals but I'm willing to learn what their specific and special needs are. I have had older dogs in my life so I do have a basic grasp on their needs but everyone is unique! I mostly work remote from home with the occasional pop into the warehouse once or twice a week. My schedule can be pretty flexible for the most part! I'll gladly learn the typical schedule you have with your pet so that they feel their care is secure and stable. Time of feeding, length of walk, treats, etc. Just let me know and I'll do my best to make you both feel considered and cared for. I'm not currently doing doggy day care or boarding. Eventually I will offer that service again! I might be open to it on a case by case basis.
