Through my volunteer work with rescue organizations, humane societies, and wildlife rehabilitation centers, I've learned to connect with pets who might be shy, anxious, or just need a little extra patience. No creature is too unusual – I've cared for everything from traditional pets to more exotic companions! After leaving academia to pursue my passion for writing and art, I've discovered the joy of a flexible schedule. I spend most of my time outdoors anyway (turns out fresh air is much better for creativity than stuffy lecture halls), so having some four-legged companions along for the adventure sounds like a no-brainer. Plus, I've learned that pet adventures are the perfect antidote to writer's block. I believe every pet deserves to feel safe and loved while you're away. I'm experienced with administering medications, maintaining routines, and reading those subtle pet signals that tell you when something's not quite right. My own little crew includes two senior cats (14 and 17) and a wonderfully patient yellow lab who's basically a gentleman and a scholar. One of my cats has special needs, so I'm comfortable with medical care and know how important consistency is for our furry family members.

“Riley was an awesome find. We are new to the Williamsburg area but have used Rover in the past and had a trusted pet sitter that we loved and now looks like we have found one here in Williamsburg. Riley sent great recaps and super pictures after each of her visits. You could tell all of our pets (even our cat that does not like strangers) were very happy to see her and hang out at each of her visits. About: I have experience with my own family dog. She is about 9 years old now, we’ve had her ever since she was a puppy. She is an elkhound. When she was a puppy she was very energetic so I am familiar with lots of energy !:). I have also taken care of family friends dogs and their houses so I have some experience with that as well. I am in school so I am busy Monday-Friday. I have some gaps in-between my days where I can walk some dogs or feed them or both. As well as keep them company for a little if needed. I live in an apartment, so if I am going to take overnight sits they will have to be small dogs that are potty trained. I have a pretty spacious room and live next to a small park so I would be able to take them out pretty easily. They will have space for their beds or water/feeding bowls.

About: Over the last six years, I’ve been my mom’s coworkers go-to pet sitting recommendation! Ranging from small to large, puppies to elderly / end of life, and single to multiple, I’ve been graced with the experience to care for a variety of fuzzy friends. Whether you’re away at work or on a trip, I will be sure to attentively care for your pet’s needs. I work six hour days M-F (F from home) while caring for my own pets - however my partner and I work together diligently to meet you where you’re at! This includes house sitting, drop-ins, and play dates (with or without my dog Jax). I work very closely with the instructions left to me by the homeowner, particularly with feeding, walking, and medication schedules. I’ve cared for pets for as long as a month straight and have experience safely transporting a pet to the vet while the owner was away (addressing their immediate medical concerns in accordance to the owners / veterinary instructions).
