“Erik and Lindsay are amazing! Kind, Responsive, Thorough. They have a great setup in the backyard to make sure your dog can exercise throughout the day. I would highly recommend them.”

“My Peekapoo is excited to be left in Martrice's care for the day and to play with the other pups. What a relief to have found a pet sitter I trust to give my furry friend attention and affection! And I enjoy the photos and communication she texts while I'm away. Martrice is flexible, always smiling, and a joy to work with. I highly recommend her and will continue to use her daycare and boarding services.”

About: If you have decided to keep your pets at home, where they are most comfortable, hire a person who will shower them with love and keep them safe. I'm retired from banking and loving the simple life, enjoying what I truly love.... caring for pets. Besides caring for my own pets, home, and family. I am available all days and will do my best to meet your needs. My three precious furbabbies-a very funny cat-Miss Kitty and two Pomskys-Sheeba & Earl-are my pride and joy. My Pomskys are escape artists which makes me hyper-aware. I understand the importance of protecting them and ensuring their safety. I love all fur babies with all my heart and treat them like children. I love to walk my dogs along the Niagara Falls Gorge trail and ArtPark in Lewiston. I have a bike trailer and take my dog and cat for rides.

“We love Dhizzy, and I can’t thank her enough for being so incredible with our dog. Willow loves being with Dhizzy and we always feel comfortable leaving her there. She is kind, a great communicator, and always happy to see our Willow. We can’t say enough wonderful things about the service she provides.”
About: I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds and sizes for over 13 years. I grew up with pets, volunteered walking dogs at the Humane Society, and neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed, bathe, and love their pets. With my own dog of 13 years, I’ve experienced the full journey from puppyhood to senior care, giving me the skills to handle all life stages with patience and compassion. I’m a stay-at-home mom/small business owner with a very flexible schedule, which means I have plenty of time to devote to caring for your pets. Daily walks, playtime, and cuddles can easily fit into my routine. I’m available weekdays and weekends, and I’ll make sure your dog gets the attention and care they deserve while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I have a fenced good sized yard where pups can play and a dog to keep them company. I can also crate your dog if preferred. Since I have a young child, I will take on dogs who are good with kids, making for a loving, social, and family-style environment. Will typically take on dog aged 3 and up with the exception of your dog is very relaxed. Also good with other dogs and respect my older dogs boundaries of being cared for in my home. Within the past year we lost my first baby my black lab, my chocolate lab would love the company here and there of another dog that matches her lazy chill vibe to have around for overnights.

“Carrie took such good care of Myla during her daycare stay! It was so nice of Carrie to send Myla home with a really nice goodie bag! Lots of pictures, videos and a detailed report! Thanks Carrie, above and beyond!”

“We were very pleased with Andreas' care. Very friendly, reliable, calm, and our dog seemed quite comfortable with him, despite often having separation anxiety. Also appreciated the pro-level photography.”

“Kelly was very friendly and easygoing she help us out when we were in a bind. The other dog sitter we had lined up changed his times on us last minute. I was very nervous with the amount of dogs going in and out of Kellys place. She had big & small ones my little Lucy has anxiety did know how she would take to all the dogs. I was very happy on the second day she walked right in. She seemed comfortable there. Kelly kept me updated with pictures. Very happy with the out come of getting a sitter to watch Lucy. I think all things happen for a reason we were meant to find Kelly. Thanks so much! ?❤️”

“Charlene was amazing. My doggie is from the US and he now has a CA dog buddy name Dora & a special human friend Charlene🌷. She took such great care of Rocket. Thank You so much Charlene.💐🌸🌺🌸🌷🌷🌷🌷🌺🌸💐”

“We were in NOTL for vacation and needed a dogsitter while we took an all day tour. Paula was most helpful in watching our Roxy while we were gone all day. She communicated frequently with us and gave us updates on how Roxy was doing. She even sent photos of Roxy snuggling with her. She obviously is a dog (and cat) lover. We would definitely use Paula again for our petsitting needs.”

“Meagan, you and your family did such an amazing job caring for my pup, Alfie! Meagan followed all of my requests and kept me updated throughout the whole entire visit according to my request. Their home is intentionally set up to accommodate caring for a dog, with areas gated for safety. Her daughter's are also extremely sweet and I appreciate that they spent time and playing with Alfie. They are clearly dog savvy kids and were very respectful of him and his needs. I don't even think Alfie knew I was gone 🙄😂 Thank you very much Meagan & family!!”

“We were visiting Niagara Falls with our dog, Ruby, and wanted a safe/fun place for her to stay while we explored the area. Holly was great! She sent updates throughout the day (which gave me peace of mind), and Ruby loved playing with her two dogs. The fenced yard was a big plus. Everything worked out perfectly, and we’d definitely reach out to Holly again if we’re back in the area.”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Model City commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
