“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10 STARS - ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE! We traveled from the U.S. to Canada over the holidays and booked Andreas through Rover to watch our puppy during our international travels. We had the best experience with him! From the beginning, Andreas was quick to respond and easy to communicate with. We felt safe and comfortable with him right away. As a gay couple, meeting strangers can sometimes feel daunting for me and my wife for safety reasons. Andreas was nothing but warm, friendly, and respectful toward us. When we arrived, his home was absolutely charming, with a cozy holiday atmosphere and a beautiful Christmas tree. He captured our puppy by the tree in stunning photos, and they looked professional — we felt like we had a complimentary holiday photo shoot! Most importantly, Andreas was gentle and attentive with our usually anxious puppy. She likes to be held when she’s in a new place, and Andreas patiently sat with our puppy in his lap for hours until she felt completely at ease. He made sure she was comfortable throughout the duration of her stay and even offered helpful advice when we asked. Throughout her stay, Andreas sent updates that were reassuring without ever feeling overwhelming to us. We highly recommend Andreas! If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, kind, and gifted with animals, he’s the one! We would book with him again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Andreas!”

“We were in NOTL for vacation and needed a dogsitter while we took an all day tour. Paula was most helpful in watching our Roxy while we were gone all day. She communicated frequently with us and gave us updates on how Roxy was doing. She even sent photos of Roxy snuggling with her. She obviously is a dog (and cat) lover. We would definitely use Paula again for our petsitting needs.”

“Erik and Lindsay are amazing! Kind, Responsive, Thorough. They have a great setup in the backyard to make sure your dog can exercise throughout the day. I would highly recommend them.”

About: Hi, I’m Coleman M, a 200-lb+ dog walker with a love for all animals and breeds. I'm a writer and marketer who grew up on a farm with two veterinarians in the family, so have literally been surrounded by animals for most of my life. Today, I have a couple of cats of my own at home—Battle Cat and Allison, whom we befriended as strays and adopted—and an extremely flexible schedule that allows me to work from anywhere. My downtown Kamloops house with a fenced-in yard is situated in a central spot for pick-ups and drop-offs of dogs and or cats, but I’m also available to travel short distances. If you have any questions about me or my services, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to meet you and your pet! As a self-employed writer, I enjoy a flexible work schedule that allows me availability at most times during the week and on weekends. Just ask! I will often bring my laptop to work at client's homes when overnighting or pet sitting is required. “Ace is our tiny baby and every time he stays with Dhizzy she is so gentle, caring and kind to him. We so appreciate her and all she does to make sure Ave has a great time while he is with her!”

“Stephanie was amazing! She understood Loki super fast and gave him the best treatment with lots of play and cuddles! Sent me photos and videos during the whole stay! Thank you, Stephanie!”

About: If you have decided to keep your pets at home, where they are most comfortable, hire a person who will shower them with love and keep them safe. I'm retired from banking and loving the simple life, enjoying what I truly love.... caring for pets. Besides caring for my own pets, home, and family. I am available all days and will do my best to meet your needs. My three precious furbabbies-a very funny cat-Miss Kitty and two Pomskys-Sheeba & Earl-are my pride and joy. My Pomskys are escape artists which makes me hyper-aware. I understand the importance of protecting them and ensuring their safety. I love all fur babies with all my heart and treat them like children. I love to walk my dogs along the Niagara Falls Gorge trail and ArtPark in Lewiston. I have a bike trailer and take my dog and cat for rides.

“Carrie took such good care of Myla during her daycare stay! It was so nice of Carrie to send Myla home with a really nice goodie bag! Lots of pictures, videos and a detailed report! Thanks Carrie, above and beyond!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds and sizes for over 13 years. I grew up with pets, volunteered walking dogs at the Humane Society, and neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed, bathe, and love their pets. With my own dog of 13 years, I’ve experienced the full journey from puppyhood to senior care, giving me the skills to handle all life stages with patience and compassion. I’m a stay-at-home mom/small business owner with a very flexible schedule, which means I have plenty of time to devote to caring for your pets. Daily walks, playtime, and cuddles can easily fit into my routine. I’m available weekdays and weekends, and I’ll make sure your dog gets the attention and care they deserve while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. I have a fenced good sized yard where pups can play and a dog to keep them company. I can also crate your dog if preferred. Since I have a young child, I will take on dogs who are good with kids, making for a loving, social, and family-style environment. Will typically take on dog aged 3 and up with the exception of your dog is very relaxed. Also good with other dogs and respect my older dogs boundaries of being cared for in my home. Within the past year we lost my first baby my black lab, my chocolate lab would love the company here and there of another dog that matches her lazy chill vibe to have around for overnights.
“Kelly took such great care of our dog Mocha! She sent us lots of videos, and Mocha was really comfortable and happy with her. I highly recommend Kelly if you’re looking for a professional and excellent pet sitter. She’s the best!”

“Naomi and Sam are great with Lily! She’s always so excited to go to their house. They have been very flexible with scheduling and very understanding. They are great at communicating and send updates throughout the day.”

“Meagan, you and your family did such an amazing job caring for my pup, Alfie! Meagan followed all of my requests and kept me updated throughout the whole entire visit according to my request. Their home is intentionally set up to accommodate caring for a dog, with areas gated for safety. Her daughter's are also extremely sweet and I appreciate that they spent time and playing with Alfie. They are clearly dog savvy kids and were very respectful of him and his needs. I don't even think Alfie knew I was gone 🙄😂 Thank you very much Meagan & family!!”

About: Hi! I’m Anna, I’ve always loved animals, I had three chihuahuas and a golden retriever growing up. I currently have a Pomeranian bichon mix named Dr. Pepper who is treated like royalty (he’s a pampered prince). My friends have relied on me to take care of their furry family members while they have been away and it warms my heart to see the unconditional love that pets bring us. I work from home and I live in the north end of St. Catharines. My home backs onto sunset beach (Lake Ontario) and there are endless pathways to explore! I am available for extended stays in my home and welcome to short term, drop ins and doggy walking - I’m flexible with scheduling and also willing to travel a reasonable distance! I have experience caring for both small and large dogs, I currently have a little Pomeranian mix floof puppy. I understand that your pets are family and I promise to love them dearly and make them feel safe in your absence :)
“Monica and her children have been fantastic with our puppy Ace! Pick up and drop off are very easy and enjoyable. Monica always sends photos and updates so I can see how Ace’s day is going. Ace loves going to daycare at Monica’s and always wags his tail when we pull up to her home. My fiancée and I are very thankful that Monica took a chance on our pup and would highly recommend her to our family and friends.”

“Our Max had a wonderful time in Monique’s care. We took advantage of the pick up & drop off service, (worth every cent or the additional charge), as we were traveling in a RV parked at the KOA. She sent many photo up dates throughout the long day 9am - 10pm. He enjoyed socializing and walking with the other dogs and a lot of lap time. Max was very excited to see us and told all about his days adventures in his silly way of conversing with us. 🐾❣️🐾”

“As a first time Rover user, I couldn’t have had a better experience with a sitter for our Winnie.Charlene was so quick to respond and accommodated us on short notice of a few hours. Charlene introduced herself to our dog like a true pet professional and made Winnie feel instantly calm and comfortable. It was the first time that our dog has been cared for outside our home and she was cuddling with Charlene in no time. Charlene sent us several photo updates to put our minds at ease. When we picked Winnie up she tried to run back into Charlene’s house to stay a little longer. We are so happy to have connected with such a kind and caring pet owner and will use Charlene again without hesitation.”

About: I am a 31 year old entrepreneur who works from home and enjoys all the time that this lifestyle allows me to share with my Pomeranian / Daschund, Bella. We go for long walks along the Niagara River and Whilrpool road hikes. Snacks are a regular part of our routine, positive reinforcement all the way! Bella will be sure to teach your fluff some of her tricks, and hopefully meet some friends along the way. We are both warm & friendly ladies, who love to be around other people and creatures. We are very talkative and have lots of interaction. Your animals will feel very welcome in our home. Bella has all of her updated shots, and we expect all of our fur friends to have the same.
“If you’re looking for someone trustworthy to care for your dogs, I can’t recommend Ibifuro enough. She took my two dogs, Nugget (my French Bulldog) and Shylo, on very short notice after I reached out the night before, and I was so grateful she was able to help. From the moment I dropped them off, I felt completely comfortable leaving them in her care. She is kind, patient, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. Knowing they were with someone who treated them like her own gave me real peace of mind while I was away. When I picked them up, both dogs were happy, relaxed, and well cared for. It’s obvious that she goes above and beyond to make sure every dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Nugget and Shylo with her again, and I highly recommend Ibifuro to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and dependable dog sitter. She’s wonderful, and my dogs were in the best hands.”

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Youngstown
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 186 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Youngstown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Youngstown commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 186 sitters in Youngstown, 84% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
