About: New to Santa Barbara and open to one time/reoccurring clients! I've been around and owned dogs/cats/lizards/bunnies/horses my whole life. I have 4 years of experience as a dog handler at doggy daycares in Arizona and most recently Chicago. Through my experience, I can confidently say I can follow feeding routines, administer medication, monitor dogs' behavior, and follow proper leashing procedures. I have worked with dogs under 10 lbs up to 150+. I have worked with high-anxiety, reactive and special needs dogs and can assure you I have all the patience in the world to insure the comfort and safety of your pet. I have a 1.5year old German Shepherd who has vastly expanded my skills in dog handling and training. I’m happy to work on leash manners with dogs of any age! I am on Rover full time at the moment so I have all the time in the world for your furry friends! I do have my own dog and 2 cats so I’m not currently available for any over night stays. I have my own car and live close to down town so same day bookings are no problem! I am a strong believer in leaving a place better than you found it. I can assure you that safety, trust, ( and fun of course!) are my top priorities. I am very precise when following instructions and caregiving needs. About: I’ve cared for and walked dogs extensively over the last 5 years for family and friends and looking forward to expanding this service to others in the SB community I am a remote worker with a flexible schedule. I spend a lot of my time outdoors whether getting sunshine on the beach or on the trails! I have a pup of my own so if yours ever needs some socializing I can bring her with us or leave her at home if your pup desires more one on one care. About: I have been around dogs and other pets my whole life. When I was a kid, I walked dogs in our neighborhood, including my own. I used to have my own hedgehog, and have helped care for friends’ dogs and cats. I work part-time and have time during my days to stop in and spend time with your pets! Mornings are the most free for me, and I am not traveling much in the coming months, so I am available for overnights. I am a big fan of spending time with pets, and would love to follow all specific directions that you might have for the care of your pet.

About: I was raised on a farm where we took care of dogs, cattle, goats and chicken. I grew up always in contact with animals, specially with my dogs that we rescued from the local shelter in Argentina. We rescued more than 8 dogs throughout my life on the farm and we still take care of them as one more on the family. I currently have a reactive catahoula pittie mix that has made incredible progress with her reactivity to other dogs with training. I love all dogs big and small and can handle anxiety reactivity or anything else they might throw at me! Im currently working part time but my schedule is very flexible, so I can accommodate my hours to walk your critter or dog at anytime. I currently do not take dogs into my own home because of my dog but am happy to walk your critter or dog sit in the comfort of their own home!

About: In recent years, I have built a strong trustworthy reputation via more than 80 (yep, eighty) 5-star reviews on a leading house/pet care platform. Photos of some were in here, but the system removed them. Happy to share that information with you when we are in contact. Most sits span several weeks, with a 4-week minimum being easiest on the schedule. I do tend to book in advance. Because I have cared for senior pets (several being older than 15: both dogs and cats, some sight or hearing or limb-disabled), administered meds which also includes insulin shots, and managed various sizes and breeds, pet parents and high end homeowners appreciate this reliability and standard. In some cases, we have only Zoomed before a sit, and never met in-person. Due to great reciprocal communication, the results were wonderful. I offer experience both house & pet-sitting, and am a former (& future) homeowner. I’ve had all kinds of pets throughout my entire life. In adulthood, a Lhasa Apso was my co-pilot for 13 years, and I will have others. For now, I enjoy supporting and caring for yours. Let’s Zoom and take it from there. Looking forward. We will discuss this. Historically (for more than 20 years), I have been able to work from anywhere. We can talk through the options together. Unless you hire me for an overnight sit, I will be coming to them for drop-in or other care. I will not be bringing your pet(s) to my location.

“I have a Great Pyrenees puppy, newly rescued off the L.A. streets a couple of weeks ago, with no I.D. or training at all. She is big and strong and I am not, so I needed the right dog-walker for the 50-pound dog, and picked Kayla K. because she raised her own 100-lb. Labrador from his puppyhood. I cannot praise Kayla enough! We started with a dog dancing around, getting tangled underfoot, and grabbing the leash like a toy. That behavior is nearly all gone now. Kayla is prompt, warm, friendly, outgoing, brought the right collar/leash combo. (now I've bought my own). My puppy gets excited when she hears Kayla's car in the driveway, and greets her joyously, and comes home nicely tired out and smiling. I took my dog yesterday to a professional dog trainer to get some help with crating and commands (like down and come), and he, a professional, was extremely impressed with my dog's calm heeling abilities that she had acquired, thanks to Kayla.”

About: I'm Robert, previous owner of a long-haired dachshund named Chubbs. Adult student / career-changer who left my dog with my family so he'd get the appropriate attention after moving for school. I've also helped take care of my SO's ragdoll cat the past 2 years. I am an animal person, literally stopping and smiling every time I see one. So while my schedule becomes quite flexible the next 6-8 months, I thought I'd spend it with pets of all sizes, even Chubbs! I used to walk my own puppers for 1-1.5 hours daily; sometimes brisk and others to stop and smell every, single plant. I'd play with my cat until he's sleepy, hungry, or tired of me; I'll even tip-toe while he's sleeping, often waking still, but worth trying :) Either way, I'll take good care of your furry friend.

About: I live close to Downtown SB with decent flexibility for day or night availability. My personal opinion on watching a pet is understanding the owners rules and commands in order to keep a harmonious home and happy pet. I am very willing and open to work with owners on a how to schedule walks, check ins, dog sitting in general - just tell me what you're looking for! I communicate very well, always honest on what I can confidently accomplish, and always follow up with pictures and updates on the check ins. I have my own bashful weenie dog who can stay at home or join, whatever you think is best. Just know I’ll treat your furry friend with the same love & respect as my own :) My past includes many family pets (Australian Shepard, Yorkie, Irish Wolf Hound), assisting my mother in training two therapy dogs, and numerous dog walking & sitting jobs for dogs of all sizes. Flexible for early mornings, afternoon walks, and/or evenings. Dog sitting is based on your preference (them alone over night or me there) but cannot have the dog in my home over night due to my dogs preference. I have a fenced in courtyard & backyard that is dog proofed with no dangerous items in the vicinity and never leave another persons pet alone outdoors. I enjoy taking pets on long walks or hikes once or twice a day, and never push a pet too much especially in the heat. Indoors, we have ‘puppy proofed’ our home, we do not have carpet, and do have AC and fans for the hot days. Dog parks are up to your preference but typically I do not take others dogs for owners own reassurance. Your own house rules such as bones, treats, crates, etc are always respected.

For extra exercise, I take my big dog on walks or hikes, and I’m happy to do the same for any visiting pets. If a dog is crate-trained and their owner provides a crate, I know how to use it properly to ensure they feel comfortable and secure. Whether in my home or a client’s, I make sure each pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for, adjusting to their individual needs and routines.

About: I have grown up with family dogs my whole life. My husband and I have fostered several dogs over the past few years and pet sit just because we absolutely love dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. I currently work from home M-F as a Registered Nurse. My schedule is very flexible so I am able to take your dog on multiple walks per day and am able to travel to your home to care for them if needed. I currently live in a home in Santa Barbara. I am happy to travel to help you out with your dog and stay at your home if that’s most comfortable and convenient for you and your pup.
