About: I grew up around many dogs, big (my own dog Woody is a 12 year old fox red lab) and small (my other dog Juniper is a 2 year old dachshund), and I’m super comfortable around them. I’ve also dog and cat sat for neighbors and family since I could drive! Having just moved out here, I miss spending time with dogs and would love to meet some new ones :) I am currently working full time as a naturalist at Walking Mountains, but my schedule varies and allows for more flexibility week to week. I am mostly available first thing in the morning, late afternoon into the evening, and for overnights because I have a car! Dogs need lots of love and attention, and I always make sure to give it! Back at home, my dachshund Juniper requires going out regularly and lots of affection, and my lab Woody requires lots of exercise and play, so I am used to caring for dogs with different needs.

About: I love animals! I have grown up with dogs, specifically, my whole life. During college, I dog-sat for many families, one family with two Newfoundlands for three years. So I am also very capable of working with big dogs with big personalities! I do walks, playtime, and overnight stays or check-ins. I am a intern at Walking Mountains. I currently get Monday and Tuesday off. My work schedule varies from week to week. Because of that, I have a lot of flexibility to meet your needs! I am currently only offering care at your homes. I am willing to take care of all pet needs as needed, and more than willing to communicate with you while you are away about how they are doing!
About: I’ve had pets of all kinds under my care since childhood! I have extensive experience with bigger dogs but also cats and fish. Currently, I walk, feed, and take care of dogs almost every day. I have a full time job from 4:00pm - 10:00pm Thursday - Monday. Therefore, I have a lot free time during the day before my shifts. However, with off-season approaching in the Valley, I expect to have much more time available. My typical day at the moment consists of a walk, hike, or some other form of exercise, and I would have no issue adding a dog to the mix. I am also available for house visits or at-home stays for any animal. :) I enjoy being active and alert, and animals always have my full attention whether they are my own or belong to someone else. I maintain cleanly living environments and pay attention to potentially poisonous foods or plants that could harm an animal. I have more extensive experience from bigger size dogs (>60 lbs,) so I am more than comfortable taking care of them and holding on a leash.

“Alex was awesome and helped me get the pups out at my work while I had a day in the field. One of my pups needs medication, and he had no problem helping with that as well! Super appreciated his kindness!”

About: I’ve taken care of more than just my pets for the past 10 years! My neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me with their dogs and cats for years. I have walked, washed, fed, and kept loads of furry friends company. I have experience with senior dogs and cats as well as puppies. I have also volunteered with the SPCA for two years, walking and caring for some wonderful shelter pets. I work a 9-5 with off days on Mondays and Tuesdays. I am happy to get up early and come by late to meet pet needs Making sure dogs have the right amount of exercise, play, and outdoor time is so important to their health, so spending quality time with pets is a priority.
About: I am a highly experienced foster parent with experience in training puppies and older dogs as well as administering medical treatment and working with reactive and fearful dogs! I have been dog sitting for a long time, and absolutely love getting to know new furry friends! I have my own dog, Basil, who is 3 years old and loves other dogs! I currently work flexible hours and am usually able to stop in during the day to check on your pet. I spend most of my weekend with my dog and yours too! I have a quiet home with a 3 year old Aussie who loves other pets! He is sweet and calm but loves long weekend hikes and playing with other dogs.
About: Hi! I’m a reliable, caring pet sitter who treats every animal like they’re part of my own little family. Whether your pet is playful, shy, senior, or a full-time couch potato, I take the time to understand their personality and routines so they feel safe, relaxed, and loved while you’re away. I take pet care seriously and always: - Follow your instructions closely - Send regular updates and photos - Keep your pet’s environment clean and comfortable - Prioritize safety, patience, and kindness Your pet’s comfort and happiness come first—and my goal is for you to travel with total peace of mind knowing they’re in loving hands. Pet care fits very naturally into my routine because I work from home and have a flexible schedule. This allows me to give pets consistent attention throughout the day rather than only before or after work hours. I’m able to plan my day around feeding times, walks, playtime, medication schedules, and check-ins, and I enjoy building those moments into my routine. Because I’m home most of the time, pets aren’t left alone for long stretches and can stick to a familiar, low-stress schedule. I make sure each pet gets both companionship and quiet downtime, depending on their needs. Safety, trust, and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routines, preferences, and any special needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and stress-free. In a client’s home, I respect your space and follow your instructions exactly to keep your pet’s routine consistent. I make sure doors, gates, and litter areas are secure, and I always double-check locks and safety measures. I treat every home and pet with care and responsibility, just as I would my own. Across all services, I provide regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing, and I prioritize clear communication, patience, and reliability.
About: Want your dog to be tired and worn out after a fun day exploring? Then I'm the guy for you. Hiking and adventure is what our mountains are about and the dogs love it just as much as we do. I've had dogs and have been caring for them my whole life. Your dog and I would become best friends. I've got experience with young puppies as well as seniors. I also will watch cats if you need. Just contact me for more info. Thanks and I hope to hear from you soon! I work as a real estate broker and have the flexibility to let your dog out regularly and spend lots of time interacting with them. Yard out back for walks. Daily visits to the dog park and nature preserve half a mile from my house to go hike and play with other dogs.
“Marissa saved the day. With work commitments & a pup with upset stomach, she dropped-in twice in one day. And despite our efforts, Beacon had accidents, which she kindly cleaned up. No one likes being sick, Marissa shared empathy and is now on Beacon's "keeper list."”
About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover who grew up on a horse farm in Virginia, surrounded by dogs, cats, and horses. Caring for animals has always been a part of my life, and I have experience with dogs of all ages—from energetic puppies who need patience and training to senior dogs who deserve extra care and attention. I treat every pet like they're my own and always strive to provide a safe, loving, and fun environment. I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be home throughout the day. That means your dog will get plenty of attention, and companionship instead of being left alone for long periods. Whether it's a walk or an overnight stay, I'll keep your dog safe, active, and happy. I'll provide walks, potty breaks, meals, playtime, and lots of attention so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

Marin really went above and beyond. I don’t usually write reviews but my experience was truly five stars. Marin not only took care of my pet but also identified and proactively solved problems she encountered both with my cat and my house. Really can’t recommend enough!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
