“Kira is amazing! So glad that she was available to help out with the kitties when we decided to take a spontaneous trip. She even took extra trips to meet us and return the house key which was so appreciated as it was probable out of her way (we don't have a lockbox). The kitties were well taken care of and fed on time <3 She took so many cute pics. We will definitely be having her watch the kitties again! Made our trip so much better knowing they were in good hands.”

About: I work for a doggie daycare and dog walking company and I walk up to 10 dogs at a time by myself in all kinds of weather. In hot weather, I bring them to shaded parks. I use healthy treats for training and every dog improves, some dramatically. My business partner and I have given sick or injured dogs wagon rides on paved bike trails to get them fresh air and socialization with their friends. At the time of this writing, between the daycare and Rover, I have worked with 80 dogs. I am currently working full time on weekdays, but I’m available on weekends for dog walking, house sitting and drop-in visits. Dog walking is included with house sitting. I am available to pet sit in client’s homes and walk dogs. I am an avid hiker, so I would take them for walks and runs if appropriate. I double check to ensure harnesses are adjusted properly and comfortable. I use a dog walking belt to attach leashes to, keeping my hands free to pick up after them. If another dog passes, I distract my dogs by offering treats for sitting, staying and directing attention at me. I love taking them to play in parks or the yard, and give lots of love, head scratches and belly rubs! I take time to train so they will trust me and come to me when called. I use a happy, excited voice to encourage them to walk, and a calm, gentle voice when giving them a treat so they learn to take it gently from my hand. I even learned commands in Spanish to help a dog who understands that language best. In addition, I have earned online certificates in Dog Emotion and Cognition from Duke University and Animal Behavior and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh.

“Melissa was amazing with Kaya! She kept me in the loop with updates and photos, and even left a sweet thank you note. I got to meet her on the last visit, and Kaya really took to her, and I felt totally comfortable leaving her in Melissa’s hands. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter.”

About: I love animals! I have owned dogs and cats my entire life. As a teenager, I worked at an horse stable taking care of all the ponies. As an adult, I have fostered dogs for several years. I have done pet sitting for cats, dogs, bunnies & chicken for the last 10+ years. I believe pets create a positive energy in the home and make our lives better! I’m excited to meet your fur friends!! I am a full time teacher, but I am available weekends, as well as all major holidays and the entire summer from Mid June to Late August. I have a fenced yard and two happy pups to keep your dog company! I also have a cat, so if it’s in my home your pet must be cat (and dog) friendly. I can also come to your home if that is what you prefer :)

“Kelly was the first sitter wed ever booked for our cats, and left such a great impression! She was communicative, on time, and I can tell our kitties were well loved while we were gone. I would definitely book her again, and the experience put me at ease about Rover in general too!”

“Brianna dropped in on my girls while I was out for business meetings. It's so nice to have a familiar face pop in and make sure my fur babies are doing well, providing their meals and taking my pup for a walk. She took pictures and gave me an update. Exactly what was needed, giving me a peace of mind while away from home. Thanks!”

About: I grew up with several childhood pets- two golden retrievers, a husky-lab mix, and several fish and guinea pigs- and now I’m lucky to call two orange tabby cats my own! I have two years of pet sitting experience for family friends and other students in my grad school program. I am always happy to help out and meet new fuzzy friends! I am currently in school full-time, and I have time to pet sit or house sit through the week for pets that are okay alone for 4-6 hours at a time, depending on my class schedule. I am happy to provide overnight stays as needed! Your pets will get the most play time with me in the early mornings and evenings. I will also walk them once a day, if applicable, as I already make this a habit myself!

Donna O.
“Donna is an incredible pet caretaker with ample professional experience working with animals. She worked for a dog walking company for three years, often walking up to 8 dogs at once. She always showed the dogs a ton of love and would talk endlessly about each one whenever I talk to her. She clearly understands each animal's personality and takes great care to not just walk them but provide them with training and behavioral exercises that are tailored to each dog's needs. She is very careful and highly values the health and safety of the animals she works with. Additionally, she has always been a loving caretaker for her own pets, and she has been a devoted caretaker for my own pets whenever I am out of town. Milwaukie dog parents share their Rover experiences
I'm really grateful Abbi was available to look after Ruben and Raisin when I was gone for a week. The drop in visits were perfect and left my mind at ease knowing the pups were in good care. Abbi shared great updates and really appreciated the thoroughness with the dogs and looking after the house too. Really appreciate your time and help and hope we get to do this again soon! Happy tail wags when I got home. THANK YOU!

This was my first time using Rover and a dog sitter, so I was a little nervous at first — but Kathy immediately put me at ease! She was warm, professional, and clearly experienced with dogs. My pups were relaxed and enjoyed their time with her. I appreciated the updates and photos she sent, which really helped me relax while I was away. I couldn’t have asked for a better first experience — thank you, Kathy!

We have left our older pup with Terrall when we travel for over 3 years now, typically for a week or two at a time several times a year. He is always excited to see Terrall, the other pups, and have a yard to play in. Terrall is incredibly conscientious of all his meds, and his constantly changing protocols around exercise for his health. Terrall takes fantastic care of him!

We love Selena, she comes 4x a week to feed our dogs and take them for a walk. She is always very respectful of my senior dog’s needs and sends me the cutest pictures. I completely trust her with our girls and feel comforted knowing there’s someone to give them cuddles when I can’t be there!

Sequoia is one of Mabel’s favorite people - thank you for always taking such good care of her! Mabel needed a drop in visit to be fed dinner, go potty and have some play time. Sequoia did all of those things, all while being conscience of Mabel’s specific needs. Thank you again!
