“Madeline did an excellent job watching Artie and Neptune! She provided a detailed check-in every day with lots of great pics and Neptune was sitting on her lap during her visits in no time :) would definitely recommend Madeline and will book her again!”

“Rachel has been so amazing to me and my girl kitties. You can tell she truly cares about animals and really wants to help and also build a relationship with your babies. I only ask her to babysit my cats because I trust her and so do my babies. I highly recommend using her for all pet owners.”

“Paige was absolutely wonderful with my dog! She was attentive, caring, and kept me updated throughout her stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. My dog was happy and well taken care of, and I could tell she genuinely enjoyed spending time with her. I would definitely recommend Paige and will gladly book with her again!”

“Rachel did a great job taking care of our cat Bandida! Bandida was in good spirits when we got home, I can tell she got enough attention and care while we were gone. Rachel was easy to communicate with and followed all instructions. Will be booking her again in the future. Thanks!”

“It was a last minute request to Jacob because m y usual sitter had last minute plans. I was a little nervous that my dog would be shy, but was not prepared for him to not want to walk or interact at all. Jacob did get him out real quick to go to the bathroom, but he wanted to go right back in. The later visit in the day did not go any better. Jacob did the best he could, but could get Theo to warm up to him.”

About: I have volunteered at the SPCA for three years, taking care of small dogs, large dogs, and even cats. I even take care of people's pets in my neighborhood. Currently fitting pet care into my daily routine is no problem at all. I am a part time college student but I don't go back until the winter. I stay at home full time so I will be able to spend all day with your pet. As far as pets go, I have a very friendly lab mix named Kaya and a cat named Snickers. I also have two leopard geckos named Mushu and Yoshi. Kaya is fed twice a day, morning and evening. And Snickers is a grazer so he eats whenever he wants. I have a fenced in yard which Kaya adores. Whenever other dogs come over I let them out into the yard so they can run around and play. The yard is about half an acre and the fence is 4 and a half feet tall.
“Sherrie was amazing! Went out of her way to come and meet Avalon and get familiar with our space. Then took wonderful care of our dog while we were away. Great with updates and photos of their adventures. Will absolutely ask Sherrie for dog sitting again.”

“Taylor and Michael are such stellar people! I’m so lucky to have found them! Will definitely reach out again when opportunity allows. Thanks again for caring for my little baby girl!”

“Lisa has watched Sam for several days and has taken absolutely great care of her. She communicated perfectly and send me pictures. She went out of her way to provide great service, I highly recommend her :)”

- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
