About: First, I apologize for the dog poo pictures in my profile. I had a sick dog here and had to quickly get the owner pictures and forgot to uncheck the box that automatically adds the photos I send to my profile and Rover prohibits the deletion of these photos. Ok- I have an affinity for all dogs, having cared for my family dogs growing up and then my own for the last 12 years, but I have a soft spot for those older dogs that need a but more time and patience. I just laid to rest my very best friend, Josie; she was likely 16. *** I do prefer to stay local to Lewes, east of route 1, especially during tourist season ** I have plenty of time to spend with your dog right now, after just losing my k9 companion, and would love to care for them in your absence either with visits, walks, daycare or boarding. I am a clean, organized, responsible dog companion who pays attention to the needs of your best friend and is respectful of your home and property. Please respect mine, and plan to drop off your dog for boarding only after being recently bathed and/or groomed.
“Rachel did a wonderful job taking care of my cats while I was out of town. My cats even came out to meet her and loved her. Very professional and reliable. I will definitely call her again when I go out of town!”

“Sherrie was amazing! Went out of her way to come and meet Avalon and get familiar with our space. Then took wonderful care of our dog while we were away. Great with updates and photos of their adventures. Will absolutely ask Sherrie for dog sitting again.”

“Absolutely thrilled with Sam’s services! She maintained contact with us providing updates and photos of all 3 of our pups. It was wonderful to have peace of mind knowing they were cared for.”

“Thank you Jacob for taking such good care of Tank. It’s the first time we’ve needed someone to care for tank while we were out so long. If I need the service again. I will absolutely book with you.”

“Taylor and Michael were awesome with our cat! I would highly recommend them to anyone needing pet sitting services. They met with us beforehand and asked all the right questions to make sure they knew Roxy’s routine. While we were gone, we got daily updates and pictures. They played with her favorite toys and took her out on our screened in porch, which is her favorite place to be! Knowing Taylor and Michael were taking such good care of our cat allowed us to truly relax on vacation! We will definitely use them again in the future.”

“Sierra had very good communication from the start to the end. She as well got along with my dog right away and even took time out of her day to take Bambi for an extra walk when I didn’t giver her any earlier notice about the walk.”

About: I have grown up with dogs and adore them. I have signed up with rover.com to offer dog walking and pet sitting on a part time basis after work and on the weekends. In the past, I have volunteered at BARCS as a dog walker and have helped family members & friends with their dogs while they were on vacation. I enjoy dog walking and giving dogs TLC by cuddling or playing by throwing a ball around or tug of war. Most of my experiece has been with small and medium dogs of different breeds, however, I mostly walked large dogs at BARCS so I can help with large dogs as long as they are well behaved on a leash. Psychology background helps with understanding behavior. This background includes extensive work with college students that have documented disabilities. Patient and physically active throughout the year. Why I love dog sitting * This is an update to the profile information listed below. I adopted a Senior Boston Terrier 4 ago so I took a break from Rover.com. She is older now so it is a good time to get back on rover part time until my schedule changes. I have been a dog lover since I was a baby. My mom told me I used to chase the dogs in my baby walker. My immediate family owned small dogs and the rest of my family owned medium and large dogs. Some of the breeds that I had with my family were pugs and a Pekingese. I have taken care of Cocker spaniels, Yorkshire terriers, German Shepard and black labs who were owned by friends/family. When I volunteered at BARCS, I walked dogs that were mostly pit bulls, rotties and mixed breeds (usually pit bull mixes). My experience administering medication I have experience with routine items like giving heart worm pills and flea & tick spray/lotion, as well as some experience with ear infection medication. I am not opposed to administering medication it if the owner is willing to provide training and if the dog is comfortable with me. I work full time. I’m available on a part time basis in the evenings during the week and on the weekends. If I’m off from work, I’m happy to help as well. I treat other peoples dogs like family. I don’t offer dog boarding in my home because my work schedule doesn’t permit it. But, if I’m house sitting at another persons home, I’ll make sure I’m following the instructions/routine from the pet owner, give the dog/s plenty of TLC, playtime and food. I’ll also make sure the dogs are secure in their owners home, and keep the place tidy.
“Paige and Cameron are wonderful. Keira loves them and they have been accommodating and helpful to me as this was my first time using Rover. I highly recommend them.”

About: I have had dogs and cats my whole life. Raising 5 well mannered dogs from puppies over the years has taught me the patience and consistency needed to keep your pet happy and safe. We have cared for many friends and family’s dogs. I am newly retired and looking forward to getting outdoors and being active. I love long walks and helping pets get some exercise would make it that much more fun.. I will make sure to follow the homeowners instructions for each pet so they get the care requested while keeping their pet safe and happy.
“We felt perfectly comfortable leaving our home and our cat in Christina's care. He is a real challenge of a cat, Chris made sure he was cared for daily and kept us updated on his activities ?. Will book again!”

“Chelsea was wonderful! She was so patient with our hardheaded shepherd mix and really won both our dogs over. Will absolutely request her assistance again and highly recommend her.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
