My boarding prices include one large area/room that is nice and cool and has room for bedding, toys, and whatever your pet desires. This room has access to a multi-level backyard. The animals are closed inside at night. Dogs also receive one 30 minute walk out of the home a day. Extra walks will be charged at $25 per walk. Cats stay in a room separate from dogs with all their amenities and will not leave this room during their stay. If your cat is leashed trained and you require walks please let me know know and we can talk about wether it is possible. I am a retired veterinary technician. I am educated in safety and health for animals. The pets in my home are loved and cared for individually. You can go on your trips knowing your animals are safe and cared for with a vet nurse. I am also willing to come by houses and visit. I will not do over night stays, but doggies/cats/exotics are welcome to stay overnight here at my home. When you leave your pet with me you will receive multiple pictures through out your pets stay and you will have full communication from me at all times. All dogs are required to have been vaccinated with Rabies, dhp, and bordetella. Cats should be vaccinated with Rabies, fvr-cp and leukemia. All animals that acquire fleas must be on a flea product. If they are not I will provide the flea dose but you will be charged accordingly for that dose. These requirements are for the safety of the animals in my home and in my neighborhood. I am foremost a cat person, but have (and have had) dogs of my own and trained them from puppyhood. For pups, the best type of visit is one where both their minds and their bodies are engaged, in whatever way you prefer. I also have extensive experience with numerous other animals, including rabbits, mice, rats, ferrets, fish tanks, hamsters, cockatiels (and other pet birds), chicken, quail, horses, goats, and nearly every common reptile species as well as many uncommon ones. I’m currently taking an extended break from full time work, so in addition to the pet sitting that I have been doing for friends and volunteering with local animal organizations, signing up for Rover seemed to be an excellent opportunity. I am diligent and attentive to any instructions left behind, up to and including double checking the door is locked on my way out. Daily reports are not a problem, if requested. As a pet owner myself, I know how much relief and contentment can be found in knowing your animals are being well cared for in your absence.

About: I wanted to be a vet... I had many dogs and cats over the years, in different countries - I love animals, their unconditional love and communicative silence (or not, right Warren!) I very much would like a pet again but where I live pets are not allowed, so I get my treat by enjoying your pet! I work remotely, so my schedule is flexible. I like taking a walk in the morning after feeding, usually a longer adventure of 1-2 hrs, maybe to the beach! Then another, shorter walk in the late afternoon before feeding, if there is a 2nd meal. And of course going for a quick round before bed. I'm always attentive to the body-language/need of an indoor pet, watching the signs they may want to go out. I request vet and safety information from the owner, including dietary restrictions, and will stick to the animal's routine of feed time and walk. Less stress is better!
